I think when Benson smashed the phone into pieces, we saw his rageoholic side.

So I just now watched that 2 AM PM short that was something of a precurser to Regular Show. Is JG Quintel really tall? it seems that all the characters voiced by him are the tall guy.

In the first one, Rigby reminds me of Charlie from "It's Always Sunny". Which actually kind of works, when you think about it.

In awesome news both Regular Show and Adventure Time have been officially renewed for an additional season (Adventure Time for its 3rd, Regular Show for its 2nd). The not-so-good news is that MAD somehow also got renewed.

i like tacos posted:Looks like season two will be 20 episodes that are 30 minutes if I read this tweet correctly Nope, 20 half hours means 40 11 min episodes. Unless we have some 1/2 hour specials or something. So much stuff gets cut for time in the 11 min format, so I sympathize See Sean Szeles' post about "Mordecai and the Rigbys" for examples of this. There's an AMAZING flashback to Benson's band days in the original board. http://seanszeles.blogspot.com/2010/11/regular-show-mordecai-rigbys.html

I like the 12 minute format. I'm not sure drawing each episode out to 24+ would benefit. I like how it's a little slice of crazy every monday.

I don't know, I know you guys have more insight into the characters so you would probably come up with fantastic 24 minute episodes, but I kind of feel like you guys do a great job of giving me enough information in 11 minutes to really enjoy the characters in their own way. It's a really tightly packed 11 minutes. Drawing it out to 24 or so almost makes me think you'd need to move to an A/B type plot and that would kind of slow the whole thing down.

Wishful thinking I guess! That is a horrible idea, no offense. This show works because it's so short that it simply doesn't have time to get tedious or wear out its welcome as far as the crazy goes. Also the characters don't need to develop. See also: Metalocalypse turning to poo poo when it went from 15 minutes to a half hour.

I started watching 'Ello, Guvnor. In the first ten seconds, when the video store guy came up and then Rigby walked away, my roommate asked "Will we see him again?" I said "Probably not, they've done one-off stuff like that before." ...nice Chekov's Video Store Guy, Regular Show writers.

Ok, so Life Is Eat And Die, you guys need to make a whole episode about "Fists" Riggerson and his hard boiled adventures.

For people saying this show doesn't need character development, it felt like Rigby sure got a good amount in this one. Assuming it sticks, of course.

Yeah, I felt this was a good episode for Rigby. The end really cinched it. I felt the last episode was similarly valuable for Mordecai. I think Regular Show is entirely capable of being as developed and enriching as a longer-format show, and I'm sure if they went for a double-sized episode, it would be amazing. Venture Bros did an hour-long episode and everyone loved it; I'm sure Regular Show could spend 24 minutes to their fullest.
