I want the wobbliest dubstep possible. I'm not a fan of the tamer and melodic side of the genre and it's really hard to find good stuff. I'm trying to find some music that utilizes a lot of/all/mostly the kind of bass in the first ~10 seconds of Bassnectar- Teleport Massive. Real heart pounding stuff I can bump in the car. All my google searches for bass-y techno/dubstep/rap songs don't feel the same if you know what I mean. E: Found this, a perfect example. Where's a good place to start with Bluegrass? I'm a big fan of Nickel Creek and I always enjoy my college radio station's bluegrass show, but beyond that I really don't know much. Normally my taste is really all over the place, so maybe someone can just suggest some basics to start with?

I hope nobody minds if I repeat my request from a few pages back. Are there any Neue Deutsche Hrte bands worth checking out besides Rammstein, Megaherz and Ooomph!? Alternately, recommend me stuff in a similar vein to In Extremo. (this "German Folk Metal" style is known as "Mittelalter", apparently) I found Corus Corvax (firmly Mittelalter) and Tanzwut (NDH, with elements of the latter style since it's a Corus Corvax side-project) for myself, which are both good bands, but is there anyone else willing to dispense the namedrops?

Hey dudes, I've been listening to nothing but "post-rock" (not even sure that would be the appropriate term for some of those bands...) for the past year and I'm running out. Bands that I really enjoy: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions In The Sky, Mono. Recently stumbled upon Sun O))) and that's been pretty interesting, too. Russian Circles are also great, but I'd like something more atmospheric than rythmic. Also a HUGE fan of the Roadside Picnic podcast ( http://www.roadsidepicnic.com/ ). That poo poo is exactly the kind of sound I'm looking for. More specifically, I would say I'm looking for (mostly) instrumental, epic, bleak, atmospheric music, with tracks that go on for 10+ minutes. Movie soundtracks are more than welcome. Basically if I could find 500 different variations of Godspeed's "F♯ A♯ ∞", that'd be neat. And the recommendations certaintly don't have to be obscure. I'm sure I've missed some big, obvious ones. My mom likes the following (in no particular order): Explosions in the Sky, Snow Patrol, Lacuna Coil, City and Color, Arcade Fire, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Jason Mraz, The Beatles, The Fray, Coldplay, Muse, Mobile, Ratatat, Celine Dion, The Killers, Getz & Gilberto-style jazz, Deathcab for Cutie, and more. It doesn't make any sense, but the way I see it, it can be accoustic/simple rock with good/catchy vocals or post-rock/ambient, but I don't know music well enough to put my finger on it. You can pretty much pick of any of the aforementioned bands and expand on that, or somehow find bands that resemble the mix. Keep it mind those are for my mom, so it can't be too goony, ie. I like 65daysofstatic myself, but I think that would be pushing it. Most of the music she likes is easy to listen too and has nothing too extravagant in it. (It's for Christmas gift ideas!  )

To me it seems that Neu! kind of did their own thing back then, but I think Harmonia are somewhat close to their sound. Michael Rother was in both groups. Get Musik Von Harmonia. I haven't really listened to much else by them but that album is sick. Ash Ra Tempel are worth checking out too because they own And if you don't mind more recent stuff, Fabulous Diamonds and BEAK> are more or less Neu! worship too (also Stereolab). Well the motorik beat, at least. edit: i'm a big false face who forgot to namedrop Xhol Caravan......

Three Six Mafia's Most Known Unknown is generally cited as the best of the best post-90's Southern rap. I also enjoy Gucci Mane's Back to the Trap House, G-Side's Star Ships and Rockets, and Ludacris' Chicken-n-Beer. UGK's Ridin Dirty, DJ Screw's All Screwed Up, and Goodie Mob's Soul Food are 90's classics that are must must haves. In all reality, Southern rap's finest material isn't album based, it's mixtape based. Keep an eye out for mainstream southern artists dropping mixtapes and snag those. I've been really hyped on Jackie Chain's mixtape Fear The Future, who is one of the dudes leading the new guard of southern rap. I'm sure someone else can recommend some older mixtapes that are worth listening to.
