Hold on to your buts, guys. Regressive flack incoming!quote:Obama is hugely unpopular because he would fail at a lemonade stand. Compromise on any level with the left is like being a little bit pregnant. They're wrong on absolutely every issue. They must be crushed, and marginalized.. quote:When I think of liberals like Obama, I am reminded of the hydroponic farms abandoned by Israel when they gave control of some land over to the Arabs. Anyone know about some controversy surrounding Martha Stewart being taught as part of a history curriculum? My father-in-law was going on and on tonight about how crazy liberals in Texas change school textbooks and curricula so worthless crap is covered and then it spreads to the rest of the country, and I was doing everything in my command to not roll my eyes out of my head and across the table. I asked where he heard it and all he would say was it was "on TV," so I'm guessing , but Google has failed me so far.

My dad was rather quick on the draw, shotgunning this out less than an hour after Obama's press conference. No idea where he got it. Subject: Hmmmm???? The United States did not use the word "African" for birth certificates in 1961 - Obama's does! Vital Statistics of the United States ^ VITAL STATISTICS OF THE UNITED STATES 1961 at http://www.nber.org/vital-statistics/historical/nat61_1.CV.pdf says on page 231 under the section "Race and color" the following: "Births in the United States in 1961 are classified for vital statistics into white, Negro, American Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Aleut, Eskimo, Hawaiian and Part-Hawaiian (combined), and "other nonwhite." "The category "white" includes, in addition to persons reported as "white," those reported as Mexican or Puerto Rican. With one exception, a reported mixture of Negro with any other race is included in the Negro group; other mixed parentage is classified according to the race of the nonwhite parent and mixtures of nonwhite races to the race of the father. The exception refers to a mixture of Hawaiian and any other race, which is classified as Part-Hawaiian. In most tables a less detailed classification of "white" and "nonwhite" is used." Obama's "Certification of Live Birth" shows father's race as "African". That word was not used in 1961 to describe race. You can draw your own conclusion.

The argument is that the document is fake, as revealed by the use of the word African instead of Negro. Which is crap, of course, but they are saying he WASNT born in Hawaii, and that the document was forged to make it appear he was. Never mind the fact that his father was actually African, as in From Africa, so maybe that is why the certificate says that. Or maybe they didn't like the word Negro and convinced some clerk to change it at the time. I'm not sure why anyone thought that producing a certificate would quiet anyone down. It's so trivial to just say "well that is clearly a fake", they don't even have to change their argument. There is literally nothing you could show these people to convince them. Eyewitness testimony from the doctor or nurse who delivered him would be met with "well they paid off a doctor". Video of the event? "Could be video of any black baby being born in hawaii." They will continue to claim he isn't a valid president because they cannot otherwise process the fact that a black dude beat their guy.

There are a lot of right wing forwards on this thread, but has anybody gotten a pro-Trump e-mail forward yet? I'm curious if anyone likes him.

I seirously can't see anyone who had a ROAST about them could be taken seriously. I'm not sure if he even takes his Presidential run seriously.

Unless everyone being polled is answering ironically, I would say that a large percentage of conservatives want him to run for president.

There's this link from a few pages back: quote:Whether or not you like Donald Trump or think he has a snowball’s chance in hell of actually winning the Republican nomination and going on to remove Barrack Obama from the White House is beside the point; dude says exactly what’s on his mind, and you gotta LOVE IT.

We should love it when contenders for president speak their mind, even when those things are either upright conspiracy theories or statements that show a complete lack of understanding on how the world works.

Well, I'd rather politicians are truthful and stupid than lying. As for Trump, he seems a natural extension of the "government is just like a business and ought to be run as such" meme. Ofcourse Trump isn't really all that succesful of a businessman, but he certainly appears to be and that's good enough.

I really hate when people think he's a genuine American rags-to-riches, bootstraps type of guy. His father was a millionaire. He brags about the fact his kids are in the directory listing of the top 1% (because the money has to be in the family for three generations) while pretending it doesn't bother him that he's not.
