So I found Volume two at my local creepy comic book store. I was accosted by people playing Warhammer, but it was worth it.

Oh, mine's in Los Angeles. I guess insecure manchildren giving other people poo poo for liking a comic with early teenaged girls on the front cover is universal.

Vol. 2 will get a new printing around the release date of Vol. 3 according to Tom, so might be worthwhile to wait for that to look around.

This says a lot about Dragon's Lair, and it says a lot about how poor comic book shops can be.

My local comic book shop is run by a sleepy stoner who plays WoW all afternoon and likes to talk about books. It's down a little medieval side-lane and being the UK there are absolutely no concessions made to try and persuade customers to hang around or socialise, so it always has that quiet library feeling. It also has grilled windows and no sign, so the only people who ever go there are either lost tourists or locals inducted by comic-reading friends. I'd been dropping in there for something like six years before I even learned it had a name. I have no idea how it survives.

It's actually an IRA money-laundering front. You terrorist-supporter. Or, alternately, the attraction of it being almost a secret store means that everyone that hears about it goes there almost exclusively. Being a poorly-kept secret can be good for business. I wish there was a store like that here.

In my experience, wargamers are always way too interested in their wargaming to pay any attention to anyone else. I am baffled that they would take time away from their dice rolling to bother to heckle you about Gunnerkrigg.

Ok. So I've been avoiding this for the longest time thinking it was gay as hell. But it wasn't. I started reading it yesterday and finished many hours later. Awesome story, artwork is fantastic and the only complaint I have is that the plot sometimes moves at a glacial pace. I got just one question though! Whatever happened to Annie's scar? The one that only showed up when she went ethereal?
