While this probably won't be an issue for Wiz come Vicky 2, I just thought I would mention that Vicky 2's military scoring system is complete bullshit. Unless you have an enormous population or it's late game, almost all of your Military Score will come from leaders and that makes westernizing a virtual coin flip

Oh, hey, this is nifty. Now I can watch this from ground zero instead of trawling through endless sophistry. But no worries, unless they've fixed it, you'll never ever catch up to the UK in military score or industrial power as they'll have ten times that of the closest nation after industrializing and drafting all of India. So when the ol' chaps come down on you for a jolly good time of white man burdening, it won't really matter if you're "civilized" or not, unless you're China.

I don't know, I managed to beat back France, USA and the UK (in different wars) as Egypt after Modernizing, while maintaining the fourth largest army in the world. Also, it is Le Blob that has the absolute industrial score, since they slowed down the assimilation rates for colonies. Military score is now based on supplies used, thus an indicative of army quality, as techs will also increase the supply consumption of armies. The game still has some big flaws, but this area isn't one of them.

I find that a lot of those problems were fixed in the Age of Colonialism mod- France's industry no longer goes completely insane, Britain has a sane-sized army, etc. I'm sure Wiz will create his own solutions.

Nice. The Hohenzollern LP remains one of my favorites, so I am excited about this thread!  Azerbaijan will make a nice change from all the CK threads that force the EU player into picking what flavor of Christianity he wants, too. Excluding Srbja of course.

I had read the Hohenzollern LP before signing up on the forums and following one of yours from the start like this is exciting. Though it seems even your initial survival is under threat right now, here's hoping you succeed in not becoming the Blob to End All Blobs by halfway through EU3.

I'm glad this didn't end up being another goon run LP. Despite being a belligerent rear end in a top hat, I could never deal with the huge post backlogs that would be required to participate in the senate style LPs.  Plus, I like the cohesive story you make when you're running it solo. You did a great job on the conversions and the like last time.

Meta question, but which specific exe/mod are you using to enable Muslim playability? I actually downgraded my version of CK to without-DV since I couldn't find Muslim-patch that was compatible with the expansion. Interesting. Barbarossa lives, Saladin dies. I'm not exactly an expert on medieval history, so I'll throw this one out there: how significant was the historical death of Barbarossa before reaching the Holy Land? Wikipedia gives a mixed impression of whether or not it could have had any real long-term consequences. Wiz, I'm really excited to be following this LP from the start. The Hohenzollern LP was incredible, especially as the alternate history became increasingly elaborate. I'm curious to see how long the semisalic gavelkind gimmick lasts, because that seems like it would be a tremendous pain in the rear end to plan around. It would be a good narrative device for palace intrigue though.

Semisalic Gavelind just emphasizes this.
