Adding to the voices saying to get used to it. I just got a Microsoft wheel this past Sunday. It's taken a couple days, and I started out from the beginning in F-class with all the assists off, but now I can't see myself going back and I've moved on up to A/B cars, and can at least make my way around the track in an S-car.

Good advice regarding tuning cars

Just to add to this, the torque curve also plays a big part in how controllable/sane a car is to drive. (Please correct me if I am blatantly wrong)Making peak horsepower at the high end is more stable than making it at the low end. I love throwing cam upgrades at cars because of this. The downside is you also have to keep it revved high to use the power, and depending on the car this can lead to inflating the car's PI without actually making more power in the range you would use it.

For those who got 4, can you remove the turbo on cars that have one from the factory? If not, does the buy/sell glitch still work?

So after watching that buyer's guide, are the bottom tier porche pedal set that bad? I'm tempted just to get the MS wheel, but I know I'll end up playing some other racers on other platforms down the line.

I dunno man, I have the regular pedals. I think they own. The brake alone is so much better than the MS wheel set it's worth the cost. Everyone raves about the club sports, but I have trouble imagining how they are an improvement. I just don't think I'm good enough at driving video game cars yet to take advantage of any benefits.

They're better because they don't rely on brake position, they rely on brake pressure like a real car brake. Muscle memory helps your braking consistency as a result. The normal pedals are good, mind you, bu the clubsports are way better.

Changing the abs setting in the wheel changes where that vibration happens. I have mine set to vibrate at 90% brake pressure.

Obviously there are many people here and elsewhere who don't agree, so as I said, just my opinion.

I probably should have mentioned that I based my decision on the fact that I already had the MS wheel. If I had had no wheel at all it would have been a different story.

When my MS wheel dies (which it is slowly but surely doing) I'll probably buy one myself.

Compared to Forza 3, Forza 4 is better in every aspect that any car-loving person cares about.

Top 5 areas of improvement:
1. The game throws money at you. You will never have to grind for credits.
2. Manufacturer affinity at level 4 makes all upgrade parts 100% free. See point 1.
3. The tire model is massively improved, no more losing control on the redline.
4. Wheel-to-wheel lock and steering assist is fixed, making everything better.
5. There's so much more to do. So, so much more.
Bonus Number 6. The improved sound in F4 does things to your dangly parts.

Hey guys! I'm having a good time, what about you?

I don't even know what to do with myself in this game. I've worked through a few seasons so along with online play it's brought me up to lvl 17 or so. Money has been thrown at me, upgrades for all of my favorite manufacturers are free, and I have a garage of road-worthy cars starting to build. I haven't had any reason so spend any money yet so I've got more floating around than I ever had in F3.

Anybody have favorite cars or hidden gems? I'm so overwhelmed by the choices that I don't know who to throw my money at.

Aug 6, 2001

I like how people are still selling upgraded cars on the AH for more credits even though you get NO money back for selling parts now and if you run like 5 races parts are free. Also - there are some drat bargains to be found on some of the early level up rewards right now. I got all of the other 4 awesome level 3 rewards for a grand total of 14k. I also snagged a 67 Miura for like 20k.

Got my Lancia to Level 4 last night so I think it's time to start making a viable version of each of them in every single class they can upgrade into :) I have also fallen in love with the Nova SS and want to turn it into a beast from hell.

Seriously sitting here thinking about what I can sell to justify a Fanatec purchase. I figure I own an MS Wheel as well as a Driving Force GT that could net me maybe half or more of the cost if I sold them to get a starter CSR with the cheap pedals/shifter.

VVVVV
I heard some people complying that the 0 cr thing was tied to some sort of weird problem when using the wheel.

It's a problem/glitch when using a wheel. There are some threads on the official forums, I'll see if I can dig 'em up.

Apparently either switching, or just using a controller will give credits. But with a (Fanatec/Porsche wheels) wheel it's spotty. Some people are saying that switching from 900 to 270 fixes it.

Every time I turn around there is some minor or not so minor aspect that was improved from F4. Most of which were exactly the kinds of things the fans were either complaining about or wanted to see. For instance, I just finished a dual class race, which we'd tried to do several times in GTCC, but now it's a thing, not just a hack that everyone agrees upon doing for a specific race.

There's a lot of little moments like that, so many in fact, I can't remember them all.

One thing I can say about the GT/Forza rivalry is that GT seems to just keep doing what it's always done and whatever it is they want to do, while Forza seems to do the things the customers want. They're really listening out there and it really shows in this product. At this point, I think about the only thing GT manages to do better is look pretty and have a random map generator.
