Currently can't hook up my Xbox to the internet because I live out of a hotel room. Is this worth getting without having Live? I do love Forza, but I just don't know. :/

Looking for a recommendation here: My dog ate my Forza 2 disc a few months back, and I'm feeling the itch to play a racing game again. I'm a fair weather racing game player at best, and probably only put 20-30 hours into Forza 2. I'm only going to play single player. I made another rat look, I fear this is becoming an addiction    Getting around 200k cr a day now from the storefront, which is more than I ever made in all of F3! Infact my lavish spending can't keep up with it, I've hit 1mil ingame for the first time now I'm just dying to waste it on something rediculous like a countach or a billion camaros. Then I need to take it into rivals mode because goddamn you guys are knocking me down alot since all i've been doing is drat vinyls.

I would love to do some Goon Races, I'm in a Car Club with a friend, so I can't join the goon ones. I'm hanging out in the IRC, just wanted to throw it up here too. GT - UnheardWar Public races are awful. We joined a race that had 4 members of a car club in Hummers that just blocked everyone on the track. They just went really slow so we'd keep lapping them, then do it again.

New use for Goonbus: 1 driver in Lotus Elise/Exige Everyone else in a Goonbus Hummer Oval track, simulation damage on, Lotus guy drives in the correct direction for the race, everyone else drives the other direction and attempts to murder him in the face on the straights. His evasiveness will cause Goonbussers to flip their own Hummers attempting to slay him, and be left as detritus/obstacles with sim damage on. If Lotus Guy can complete his (10 or whatever) laps before the Destruction Squad can kill his car (to the point he can't limp back to the pits without everyone gangbanging him endlessly) he wins, if he gives up from compete car ruination and hilarious ownage, then Destruction Squad wins.

I can't believe how much fun the Top Gear track is. Was racing against a friend and AI last night, he was in a V12 Aston Martin Vantage, me in a Ferrari 360 (modded to be at the top of A class) and we were having a great time. Especially once you have worked out how to attack the follow through and the corner after it.

Is there any way to increase the AI difficulty without changing the "controls" difficulty? For some reason, I've been trouncing every race in Career mode despite an often terrible understeer problem, yet I step into online races and can't get above 8th. The round one on the hood and the words on the side should definitely both be up there. So I am curious, are there any bonuses to driving with assists off (abs, traction control, Stability control, simulation steering) Like being able to corner better once you get how to down, or anything like that? I remember reading in this thread a few pages back that driving manual with the clutch can help you actually go faster once you get the hang of it. Considering trying that out when I get home tonight.

This game is amazing, its starting to get difficult after a few seasons so now i have to actually tune cars! I'm going to friend some Australians, mostly for rivals mode. (I'm Fedex Kinkos)
