I'm not aware that there's any blog, all the links I've seen were posted on /m/ by SantaBla !BcI83yhr6Y Is this the recent series? If so why is it so important? I don't think the was censorship and the TV quality was already quite good so there should be really minimal difference between BD version and the TV one.

There was cut content for time purposes on the BandaiChannel/ BD version. Gattai manually added it on (surgically attaching the additional content from BandaiChannel onto the TV aired video), but the video quality was much worse on that extended content. Further, there may or may not have been additional video seen in neither version. If you watched the Shinsen version you missed a bunch of the show, congrats.

Well, that's a good motivation then I actually watched only the first two episodes so I'm still in time to see it properly. Good to know. (bakabt also hosts the Gattai version anyway)

Even Gattai's version is incomplete, since Bandai stopped streaming the version without missing content about halfway through the series, so there was no additional content to splice in. It's an extra few minutes per episode so yes it's a big deal.

Is there a decent version of the 7 Mazinkaiser OVAs? I found a very good DVD RAW but it's russian and only with russian subtitles, while the version on BakaBT is crappy .avi (so no softsub to carry over).

Aquarion Evol gots an air date, sort of. It's coming out in January. Unlike the first Aquarion this one seems to have a second director with Kawamori acting as series director. Probably a good thing. Well it would be but the only other things Yusuke Yamamoto helmed were Welcome to the NHK, Sgt. Frog, a porn OVA and some show about a ferret. Also Hiroshi Ohnogi and Kawamori don't seem to be writing this time. Mari Okada is and while she does mostly adaptations she did the composition for Fractale and Sasami Magical Girls Club... None of this is imparting hope on me.

Looks like some other sub group went ahead and worked on episodes 19 and 20 of Getter Robo. Haven't got around to downloading them yet, so I don't know if they're good or not, but there you go. If there's one "three jets combine to make any three different robots" show you just gotta watch, make it Getter Robo and not Aquarion.

To put all of this in perspective the only anime movie I know of that was animated by one guy was Midori a 47 minute long 1992 work of a crazy man which took five years and his entire life savings. While I don't doubt that Nagano did most of the key art I'm not going to begrudge him two extra hands and a guy to check their work on something that's going to be 70 minutes (they still don't know for sure but that's the last number they released) and has taken the last eight or so years.

Oh, I don't begrudge him for it at all, I'm just slightly confused because I never heard the contrary until now.
