Christmas Event is over, and the Magnum bug has been fixed. Everything is now back to normal, at least until the summer update hits.

The other KF thread's OP hasn't been edited in over a year and is lacking some information, and with the impending weapons update it seemed like a good time to start a new thread.

:black101:What is this?
Killing Floor is a multiplayer survival game developed by Tripwire Interactive and released in 2009 and originally started as a UT2004 mod. It plays similar to Valve Software's Left4Dead series, but is less focused on objectives and more focused on killing anything that moves.

The premise is simple, you and 5 other players are dumped in a starting position, and have to survive wave after wave of mutated specimens (Zeds), and face a final boss (The Patriarch). In between waves you must make your way to the weapons trader on the map, whose location will vary throughout the match, to buy better guns, more ammo, and armor.

Chopsticks put it best in his original OP: Kill zombies, get money, buy guns, smoke trees. Wisdom.

:black101:Ok, cool, I wanna get in on this. Holy poo poo classes, what do I pick?
Killing Floor is a class based game, with 7 different classes, known as perks, with their own individual traits, bonuses, weapons, and downsides. The 7 perks are:

(Click for more information)
Berserker: Melee/Close Combat Specialist
+++ Pros: Has the fastest running speed, has increased melee damage, the highest natural damage resistance, and cannot be grabbed by clots. Also one of the only classes capable of stunning Scrakes.
--- Cons: Needs a medic to survive the harder levels, as it does the majority of the bloody combat, can be hard to play if not done properly.
*** Weapons: Knife, Machete, Fire Axe, Claymore, Katana, Chainsaw
Medic: The Team Healer
+++ Pros: Increased healing with medical syringes, has the highest armor rating in the entire game, second fastest class.
--- Cons: No other offensive bonuses, medic gun is underpowered and eats up ammo like crazy, damage resistance is shot once their armor is blown.
*** Weapons: MP7M Medic Gun, MP5M Medic Gun
Commando: The "Team Leader"
+++ Pros: Can see enemy health, can detect hidden Stalkers early enough, large ammunition reserves, increased reload speeds with all weapons. Good for taking out the trash mobs while the team focuses on the larger threats.
--- Cons: Assault rifle damage is mediocre.
*** Weapons: Bullpup, AK-47, M4 Carbine, SCARMK17
Support Specialist: The Damage Dealer
+++ Pros: Increased damage with shotguns, increased grenade capacity, faster welding speed, can carry the most equipment out of all the classes.
--- Cons: Expensive weapons, slow reload time, poor shot selection can lead to quick ammunition depletion.
*** Weapons: Shotgun, Combat Shotgun, Hunting Shotgun, AA-12 Assault Shotgun
Demolitions: The Guy With The Bombs
+++ Pros: Increased explosive damage, increased grenade capacity and damage, can deal out massive damage to large groups of zeds. Can make use of pipe bombs to protect vulnerable points on the map.
--- Cons: Limited close range offense, Expensive ammunition, low ammunition reserves.
*** Weapons: Grenades, Pipe bombs, M79 Grenade Launcher (Single Shot), M4 w/M203, M32 Grenade Launcher (Multi-Shot), L.A.W. Rocket Launcher.
Sharpshooter: Headshot Specialist
+++ Pros: Deals the highest spike damage in the game through headshots, increased headshot damage with perk weapons and all other weapons, increased reload speed with perk weapons, can one/two shot most if not all specimens.
--- Cons: Landing headshots can be difficult at times, no damage bonuses for bodyshots. Somewhat limited options for dealing with multiple enemies.
*** Weapons: 9mm, Handcannon, .44 Magnum Revolver, Lever Action Rifle, M14 EBR, Crossbow
Firebug: Fire Damage Specialist
+++ Pros: Increased fire damage, increased resistance to all fire damage (total immunity at level 6), incendiary grenades.
--- Cons: Somewhat mediocre damage, fast ammo consumption, can injure self with fire at low levels.
*** Weapons: MAC-10, Flamethrower, Husk Cannon

If you're relatively new to the game, recommended starting classes are Commando and Sharpshooter. Commandos have a high ammo capacity and can deal with most enemies moderately. Everyone starts a match with a 9mm so racking up headshots as a sharpshooter is relatively easy as well.

:black101:Zeds, what are those?
Zeds are the main enemies/targets/cannon fodder you'll be murdering with your weapons of mass destruction. The canon states that they were failed cloning experiments meant to be destroyed but their creator let them loose upon London.
In Killing Floor, the amount of zeds that spawn and how much health they spawn with is determined by the number of players on the server and the difficulty level. More players + higher difficulty = higher count + higher hp.
The Zeds are:
*Crawlers - Black, spider-like mutants. They usually sneak up on you when you least expect it due to their size.
*Clots - Your average "zombie." If they grab you they will hold you in place until you break free by killing them, jumping away, or dying. Do not let yourself get swarmed by these.
*Gorefasts - Similar to clots, but have a bladed arm and will charge once they are in close proximity to you. Beware of them sneaking up as well
*Bloats - Fat bastards with moderately high amounts of health. They're similar to L4D's boomers as they have a spit attack whose damage will endure for a while. Can be very dangerous at higher difficulty levels. Medics and Berserkers have resistance to their bile.
*Stalkers - Invisible zeds. Commandos can see them from a distance, but they're not too hard to see, just look for a faint humanoid outline. Not very threatening.
*Sirens - Ranged attack zeds. These can be a threat, as they like to sneak in behind larger specimens. Once in range they will emit a scream that will deal direct damage to your health, bypassing armor. Take these out as soon as you see them.
*Husks - Another ranged specimen. Launches fireballs at a distance, can also detonate mid-air explosives with said fireballs.
*Scrakes - Chainsaw wielding specimens. They have high HP and can take a good deal of damage. Once their health dips below 25% they will charge their current attacker. Be careful with these, if they get their chainsaw on you, expect to have a hard time getting away. Leave these to berserkers and sharpshooters, it's a cakewalk for them.
*Fleshpounds - The most powerful non-boss specimen in the game. They have a natural headshot resistance. If you see one of these, DO NOT unload all your ammo on it. you will only piss it off. If they take too much damage in a short amount of time, they will fly into a rage and charge you, dealing a massive amount of damage if they connect at all. Leave these to Zerks, Supports, and Demolitions. Sharpshooters have trouble with these at higher difficulties due to the increased headshot resistance.
*The Patriarch - The boss specimen. You face him at the end of a match. Has 3 methods of attack: A chaingun, a rocket launcher, and melee. They are all very dangerous to deal with and will leave you hurting if they connect. The rockets are particularly dangerous as they will set off any pipebombs in their explosion radius, damaging and killing anyone that is near them, even if they don't own them. A common tactic of dealing with the Patriarch is to have everyone on the team go berserker, equip chainsaws, and surround him while using the chainsaw's heavy attack, making short work of him.

:black101:Modding!
Custom Music - Thanks to Takes No Damage for this
It's super easy to change the game music, simply replacing the existing music files with other files of the same filename does the trick. Here are some links to a few of my favorite packs.

1) To use these, browse to steamapps/common/killingfloor.
2) Rename your Music folder to something else, MusicORIGINAL or the like.
3) Unzip your desired pack into /killingfloor and rename the folder to Music.
4) Load the game and rock the gently caress out

Random Metal - Someone from the first thread put this together (who?), it's the one with the Pat song replaced with Slayer's Raining Blood. some random goofy metal, nice for a change of pace when you're tired of the default soundtrack. This won't have files for the more recent maps.

Prog Metal - I put this together for a friend. It's very different than the standard rock/metal music the game comes with but I think it works surprisingly well if you're into prog at all. This won't have files for the more recent maps.

Death Metal - I made this one as well, death metal and grindcore. Not for the faint of heart, but I think it came out really well and fits with the game perfectly. I've been using this for like a year now and have absolutely no desire to go back to the default tunes. I've kept this one up to date so all stock maps will have different music.

Comedy Option DMX - Another goon from the first thread (who?) made this. Good for a laugh, but I couldn't keep using it after a few hours. If you're actually into rap YMMV. This won't have files for the newer maps.

:black101:Creating Binds
Basic Binds
Here's a quick run-down on binding stuff to keys, mostly simple commands. In your Killing Floor folder in the Steam Folder, there's a folder called System, open that up and look for User.ini. this contains all the information for binding and stuff. You can also set it in the console, but it's best to do it in the .ini file so you don't accidentally overwrite any previous binds.

Example: Let's add a bind that says "FP" whenever press the the H key. Here's what you do:
Open up User.ini.
Scroll down to where you see this:
code:
H=
Once you are there, simply add "Say FP" (No quotation marks needed).
When you're done, it should read like this:
code:
H=Say FP
Save and close your User.ini file.
Open up Killing Floor
Test it out.
Enjoy.

Binding Specific Weapons To A Key
To bind a specific item to a key, you follow the same steps as creating a basic bind, and use the weapon's specific code instead.
Example:
code:
Z=GetWeapon KFMod.Welder
This bind would switch you to the welder immediately after pressing the "Z" key.

Here's a list of all the weapon codes up to before the latest Christmas Update:
code:
KFMod.AA12AutoShotgun - AA12
KFMod.AK47AssaultRifle - AK
KFMod.Axe - Fire Axe
KFMod.BoomStick - Hunting Shotgun
KFMod.Bullpup - Bullpup
KFMod.Chainsaw - Chainsaw
KFMod.Crossbow - Crossbow
KFMod.Deagle - Handcannon
KFMod.DualDeagle - Dual Handcannon
KFMod.Dualies - Dual 9mms

KFMod.Katana - Katana
KFMod.Knife - Knife
KFMod.LAW - LAW
KFMod.M14EBRBattleRifle - M14
KFMod.M32GrenadeLauncher - M32
KFMod.M79GrenadeLauncher - M79
KFMod.Machete - Machete
KFMod.MP7MMedicGun - MP7M

More Useful Gameplay Information

Fellow KF Veteran Alteisen made a really good post regarding how to play each class well:

Alteisen posted:

Class descriptions ahoy.

Medic: Should be obvious, you heal others as much as you can, you have the fastest syringe recharge and your heals are more effective, as you level up your armor becomes much tougher than any other classes topping out at 75% its like having 2 life bars, even fleshpounds on Hell on Earth do 17 damage to your armor at level 6. and you can move faster.

Medic gun is your weapon, alt fire is a healing dart and normal fire is a machine gun that runs out way to fast, feather the trigger to maximize clips, good for headshotting clots and gores and killing crawlers but not much else.

Firebug: Set poo poo on fire, you get the flamethrower and the mac 10, firebug is one of the best classes in the game to kill trash mobs, one small flamethrower stream and you got a mountain of dead zeds, again feathering the trigger works best to maximize ammo. At higher levels you get more ammo capacity, more damage with the fire and immunity to fire, both yours and the one from husks. At level 3 and above your grenades become fire grenades, this lets you toss them at your feet and you won't kill yourself.

Commando: Another great trash mob killer and has absurd ammo capacity at higher levels, also reloads any gun he's holding faster than any class, the main 2 things his perk brings to the table are the ability to see enemy lifebars and the ability to see stalkers when cloaked, he can see the cloaked patriarch, higher levels gives you more capacity, more damage and you view cloaked/lifebars from further and further away, you also have less recoil. His weapons are the bullpup(highest ammo capacity, low damage), AK-47(middle of the road in terms of stats and capacity) and the Scar(low clip size but most damage). Generally I roll with the pup and scar, you can also set their weapons to single fire and snipe very effectively.

Generally you can to keep these 3 classes away from the scrakes and fleshpounds, they just can't kill them fast enough and just piss off, the firebug CAN stop the FP rage in progress though.

Anyway moving on.

Sharpshooter: Snipez for your l33t mlg montages, they get multipliers to their headshot damage topping at 140%, I'm fairly certain that a headshot from a max level sharpshooter is the most damaging thing in the game.

Anyway that's basically their benefit, beyond that their pretty slow moving, this is a class that needs a good team to watch his back and let him handle the scrakes, fleshpounds and sirens from a distance so they don't hurt anyone.

Guns for them are, lever action rifle or LAR for short, low damage output but its so cheap for even non SS classes you'll end up using it a lot, just go for the head obviously, slow reload time.

EBR, its got a laser point and its semi auto, only 7 clips though at 20 bullets per, needs a steady aim.

Crossbow, highest damage output of all the sharpshooters weapons but also the heaviest meaning its just this and a handcannon/pistol, still the best weapon for them on the higher difficulties to deal with the heavies.

Handcannon, stronger pistol basically. The pistol is also a very deadly weapon in the sharpshooter's hands.

Demo: You blow poo poo up, its the most expensive class in the game also, like henkman says, use another class first then kit yourself in demo gear after you have enough money, even then its really hard to stay equipped, the key is to conserve your shots.

If there is one clot incoming, do not waste a shot of your launcher on it, if there's 5, go ahead and blast them, if there's a fleshpound coming, empty your entire launcher and hope it dies(don't do this on suicidal or HoE unless he's already stopped on a pipe, you'll be left reloading and he'll be very upset with you.)

Basically with demo you have to make every single shot count, he has very, very low ammo capacity and his ammo costs a fuckload. Anyway at higher levels you get more explosive damage and more resistance to explosive damage, demo is class in which you're gonna be hurting yourself a lot, you have to be very careful at low levels otherwise you're just gonna be blowing yourself up a lot.

Demo weapons are...

Single ammo grenade launcher(I don't know the actual name): One shot and reloading with this launcher.

M32 Launcher: Can fire 6 grenades before needing to reloading, problem is takes an eternity to reload it, generally you want to reload after every shot unless a situation calls for emptying an entire clip into something.

Pipebombs: The most expensive thing in the game but also the most destructive, generally you want to toss them at chokepoints or in the path of a fleshpound but watch out for sirens, they can disable them. Again be careful with where you place them, if one goes off and you're near you will die regardless of your demo level.

Demo is like sharpshooter, good in the back and should not be in the front, just don't get to trigger happy, grenades explosions cause a lot of smoke and seeing an angry fleshpound run out of that cloud of smoke is only funny when the he isn't aiming for you(he usually is.)

Support specialist: SHOTGUNS, nobody can pull off heaps of damage up close better than a support specialist, the alt fire with the hunting shotgun at point blank rage is absurdly damaging, you can also weld and unweld faster than any other class, in some maps like office for example, holding the back door is the only way to survive on the higher difficulties, this where the support truly shines, unless there's a fleshpound behind the door, the support can hold it.

Support works well in any role really thanks to his amazing damage output. His weapons are...

Shotgun: Normal shotgun, medium spread and pellets.

Hunting shotgun: Highest spread and most pellets so you need to be in the face of whatever it is you're shooting for maximum damage output.

AA12: Semi auto, fire fast, tightest spread but least amount of pellets, still an amazing gun, my set proffered set up is AA12 and hunting.

Supports can handle any zed on their own, they can also carry the most out of any class including up to 11 grenades but generally you can't carry 2 shotguns till you're at least level 3. As you level you can weld/unweld faster, carry more poo poo and do more damage.

Berzerker: My favorite class and probably the toughest to use, totally melee based and in a game where every single enemy is melee based outside of husks you can see how this can be very dangerous, if you're gonna be a berzerker you need intimate knowledge of how every zed in the game attacks and ways to stun them, you also need to watch out for their audio cues so you know what's near or behind you, you need to be very self aware when playing berserker otherwise you'll get hit from the back a lot. Most of the time you'll be fighting alone simply because you outpace every other class, in huge open maps the berserker is king, they can also tank very effectively, I've won a few HoE games by planting my rear end in a doorway and a good team at my back and just not letting anything pass. A medic is must for this of course.

Zerker has a variety of weapons but not all of them useful.

Machete: A bigger knife, pretty much useless.

Axe: Cheap and incredibly damaging but swings slow, this weapon is crucial on Suicidal and Hell on Earth against scrakes and a must for soloing fleshpounds.

Katana: Swings fast, does great damage, its their main and probably best weapon.

Chainsaw: Does great damage but it slows you down which isn't good for a zerker, generally not worth it but its key to the most fun way to kill the patriarch.

That's basically it, at higher levels you gain more damage resistance topping out at 40%, damage to ALL resistance including siren screams, you also gain drat near immunity to bloat bile and you run faster.

The bane of your existence will be crawlers, its like they just focus on you for daring to be the melee based class, generally you want to have a back up weapon, I prefer the lever action rifle, if you have to deal with them up close, bait them into jumping and then kill them, takes a bit practice. Generally the zerker can handle anything in the right hands but again, you HAVE to know how every in the game works and sounds.

One note with this class which I see people do way to often, YOU ARE NOT INVULNERABLE, you just take less damage but you can just like any other shmuck, far to many rookie zerkers just run into a giant group then get pissed when they die. If you see 10 clots, 7 gorefasts and 2 husks, don't jump in the middle of that, you will die, smoldering and slashed to bits, assess first then go forth and slash.

Note I'd like to make since I didn't feel like writing them on all the classes, the more you level the cheaper your class weapon or any equipment gets a benefit too, for example the medic's armor is cheaper and grenades are cheaper for a demo.

Also when you reach levels 5 and 6 for any class you spawn with a weapon of that class or in the case of medic, with body armor, some classes start with 2 things, for example a level 6 zerker spawns with body armor and a chainsaw, a medic with a medic gun and body armor, a demo with a launcher and 2 pipebombs.

And don't forget, almost every weapon has an alternate fire, double barrels with the hunting, katana sword swing that stuns most things, sometimes the alt fire just switches your gun from full auto to semi, that kind of poo poo, explore, use, discover, etc.

On Hell on Earth you just spawn with your weapon though.

Well this is stupidly long and took me way to long to type but I hope someone reads it and picks out a class and has buttloads of fun.

Now for a friendly glossary to explain enemy terms!

Clots: First enemy you fight, whitish guys, they can hold you in place, easy alone but very dangerous in groups as the damage can really add up, plus you're a sitting duck.

Gorefasts: Reddish guys with a blade on their arm, fast as gently caress and kill you very quickly if you're not careful, fragile though, think of them as improved clots.

Stalkers: Invisible bitches.

Sirens: Really loud skinny bitches, they can bypass your armor and hurt your health, groups of them can completely obliterate an entire team.

Crawlers: Small annoying pests that blend in on dark maps way to loving well.

Husks: Long range guys and have decent stamina, generally they blast you from afar while approaching.

Bloats: Fat dudes that vomit on you when you get close, can get dangerous up close since the damage lingers.

Scrakes: Big chainsaw guys, very dangerous, after they take a certain amount of damage they run fast and focus on someone and cut them to shreds, otherwise they walk slowly toward you.

Fleshpounds: Big huge fuckers with a light on their chest, if you see one of these things, warn your team by typing FP, do not shoot it with a pistol, do not poke it with your knife, let the classes that can handle take him out before he hurts someone, if the light on his chest turns red he gains resistance to damage and whomever he hits is going to take a gently caress load of damage, he also completely obliterate any zed standing in his way to his target. Jump backwards just he before he hits to lower at least part of the damage he can do.

The Patriarch: Done with all 10 waves? Yay you, now you get to fight this rear end in a top hat, he has a chaingun, rockets and can do absurd damage up close, his chaingun will rip you to pieces and his rocket is an instant kill if its a direct hit, even the splash damage from it is pretty severe, the only class that can take a rocket to the face and still live is demo and I think medic. He cloaks and moves really fast, obviously requires a buttload of firepower to kill, generally you want to fight him in medium sized space where he can't rip you up with his chaingun or toss a rocket at you. Oh yea he can also run away and heal, this is a bad thing.

He can be taken down super easy with a coordinated team though, with chainsaws, 6 berserker, 6 chainsaws, let him show up then surround him and hold alt down fire with those chainsaw, he'll die in about 4 seconds with nobody dead.

Here's a post I made in the old thread with other tips and tricks:

Scyantific posted:

:siren: ANOTHER WALL OF TEXT :siren:

Beginner tips:
1.DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING YOU CONSIDER HOLY, RUN IMMEDIATELY TO THE HARD/SUICIDAL/HELL ON EARTH MAPS AS ANY LEVEL 0 CLASS THINKING IT'S NOT GOING TO BE HARD.
YOU WILL DIE. A LOT. AND YOU WILL PROBABLY STOP PLAYING THIS GAME (Which is good for the rest of us). ALWAYS START IN A BEGINNER/NORMAL SERVER, and move up to harder difficulties once you're a decently high level (minimum level 4 for hard, LEVEL 6 FOR HoE).

2. Always pick a class that is needed, not a class that the team already has. I can't begin to describe how pissed I get when I see some dumbass join in as a level 2 medic when there's already a level 6 medic keeping the team alive.

3. Don't be the team beggar, always asking for money and weapons. People WILL get annoyed, and if there's a kick option, they'll probably use it. Earn your share, or go medic and heal for a few rounds.

4. Don't start with a class that is dosh-dependent. You will struggle throughout the early rounds if you do. Pick a class that is low maintenance (Medic, Sharpshooter) and save your money. Once you have enough for a different class with some extra left over, then go ahead and swap out.

5. KNOW YOUR CLASS. This CANNOT be stressed enough, especially on difficulties that require TEAMWORK. Many times have I seen entire teams wipe because some idiot thought it would be nice to not play his class as intended and gently caress everything up for his team.

6. Don't be a douchebag. This involves sealing people out of areas, or blowing doors open when people are trying to seal them. It contributes to the loving up of things and people will hate you for it. Blow a door open only when you have no other options. This also includes joining a server and afk-ing just so everyone else has more mobs to deal with. Also, if a person dies, don't be an rear end in a top hat and sell their weapon just to make cash. Leave it for them, or grab it and carry it with you to the trader, where you can pass it to them, and maybe you can even re-fill it for them because they lose money after every death.

7. Stick with your team. Don't be the lone Rambo that goes out to face the mob of hungry zeds only to get eaten and then ragequit.

8. Ammunition conservation. This is especially important on classes that have low ammo reserves. ALWAYS RELOAD WHEN YOU'RE IN THE CLEAR. Nothing sucks more than running into a mob of zeds and dying because you ran out of ammo.

9. High level medics are good tanks for the tougher enemies in the later waves when they have their armor on. See that commando that's about to get eaten because he pissed that scrake off? Divert the scrake's attention by assaulting it yourself. Your armor is cheap and the commando will probably appreciate you saving his rear end.

10. A good class to hit level 6 first with is Sharpshooter. You ALWAYS spawn with a handgun and those headshot bonuses really help on in the first waves with ammo conservation and damage optimization. The other good class to max out first is Medic, since their armor (like Alteisen said), becomes GODLY at level 6. Do note, however, that a medic is only a good tank while his armor is in place. Once that armor is gone, a medic is weak as poo poo and will go down just like any other class.

11. Demomen, tossing your hand grenades then immediately swapping to a grenade launcher and shooting at the grenade detonates the undetonated frag grenade, as well as increases the explosion damage. You can also chain grenades by tossing them one after another. Do take note though, if you're close enough to the explosion, you can take some serious damage, even die. Learn to watch your distance.

Regarding the clot. ON HELL ON EARTH YOU CANNOT BREAK THEIR HOLD BY JUMPING BACK. YOU MUST KILL THEM BEFORE YOU CAN GET YOURSELF FREE. Another Hell On Earth change is that Headshots from the 9mm are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced (to 40% I believe).

This game owns and everyone should have it. It truly is the perfect zombie apocalypse simulator. Zombies are dumb and people are smart, if people work together it should be no problem right?

It's hilarious to have a round where everyone is sticking close and shooting zombies dead and then you can pinpoint the exact moment when something goes slightly wrong, snowballs quickly, people panic and it quickly becomes every man for himself. They should use this game in a study of group dynamics or something.

There are a ton of custom maps and the general amount of content in the game is ridiculous for the price(even more when it goes on sale).

e:also the best music to play killing floor to is DMX, it really encompasses the 'ooh trying hard to be hardcore but really isn't, so relax'. Then you throw 6 pipe bombs on your head and suicide bomb the boss while DMX barks like a dog

I prefer to play with it off; the only time I turn it in is when I play with this one guy I know who loves going Berserker and always somehow manages to run towards the zeds in a path that blocks my shots. Like I don't even think he does it on purpose he always just ends up perfectly in line between me and the zombies. After me and my friend telling him off several times and he would keep doing it I just whacked FF on and every time he does it now he gets mowed by a hail of bullets. :v:

I don't think you understand the thought process of someone playing berserker:

Q) Are there zombies around?
Yes- Run towards them with a fireaxe.
No- Find some, then see above.

Things like "Where are my allies? Am I blocking their shots?" doesn't really factor into it.

Whenever I play Berserker I always make sure that I'm out of the way of friendlies before running off towards the zombies like an idiot so I don't block their shots :colbert:

Of course I'm a terrible Berserker so there's that

Who is number 1?
Someone in the old thread mentioned that in a game like this turning friendly fire on does nothing other than force everyone to go sharpshooter. Yeah pretty much.

Plus running around at the start of rounds smacking everyone with a knife is pretty much mandatory. Especially as we are all apparently made of concrete.

Man, the revolver has me way more excited than I really should be. I roll crossbow/handcannon and even though though the meat-headed gratuity of desert eagles match the aesthetics of KF, a revolver would be loving tops. gently caress me, I hope it's a Webley. The frame doesn't look right for a top-break, but it's Britain! Here's hoping.

Doesn't look like a webley to me, the hinge at the mid point of the gun looks too angled in the picture, the webley is more rounded off in that area.

It's probably going to be something generic like a S&W or something, I don't have that strong a grasp of revolvers but it doesn't look like a typically meaty videogame hand cannon like a Python either.

That is what I was thinking as well. Firebug really needs another gun and the long range+explosion properties of the husk launcher would introduce more diversity.

Honestly I'd love for Tripwire to go over all of the melee weapons in the game and balance them out a bit, so there could be some incentive to wield a machete or axe instead of Katanas all freakin' day. Maybe

Add back the Knife animations they removed when they added a secondary attack to Machete and Fire-axe (one of the primary fire animations used to be a stab, and the secondary animation used to be your guy inverting the Knife in his hand and slashing across the screen). :colbert:

Actually the melee weapons in the game don't feel very fun to use at all; there just isn't enough proper feedback IMO like when you slash a zombie it makes a really quiet hit sound and that's it. Compare to something like L4D2 where melee weapons feel totally :black101:.

That's a good point. Melee weapons are consiberbly worse in L4D2 compared to going Beserker, yet I go melee way more often in L4D2 because holy poo poo I just cut that zombie in half with a guitar and her intestines are everywhere now this is amazing

Was just about to post this in the old thread, saw this one, and saw you already have tips for each class. Good on ye :tipshat:

Was just going to point out that Alteisen made a post like that once... in fact this should be it. One of the most common noob questions seems to be 'o god how do I play <class> well?' so that's definitely good OP material.
