http://www.pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16113-blue-side-park/ Hahahahahahaha Pitchfork gave Mac Miller's album an ignoble 1.0 score. They don't even talk about any track in particular, just "the guy's unoriginal and irrelevant so here ya go."

quote:The pop world has left rap behind, save four or five rappers, and it's opened a door for someone like Mac Miller to seize the college-aged, white-male fanbase. If that fanbase is interacting less with rap music, then maybe they've rallied around Miller because he also barely engages with the wider rap world. That's my whole gripe with the current Frat Rap phenomenon. If you want to suck, fine. But can we agree that some of this stuff sucks without being labeled a hater.

It is pretty obnoxious how any amount of critique can get one called on "hating." It seems to give a reason for dude's to brush off any complaints without any self reflection. I liked this new Nickatina song a bunch and it got a video today (warning: it's a rap video so there's strippers and drugs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z8qpGaV4c4 Edit: this came out a while ago, but anybody who was feeling Deathgrips needs to check out B L A C K I E snyprmag fucked around with this message at 00:45 on Dec 9, 2011 |

John Brown posted:I don't know if someone already posted about this and I really don't give a poo poo but...went to see Hov & Kanye last night. As I go through the videos and watch the crowd's reaction as Jay raps Pimp C's verse in "Big Pimpin" and ends it at "What chall know about them Texas boyz!" I realized it was definitely worth the loving price. The crowd losing it's poo poo for Pimp's verse was far and away the highlight of the Houston show for me. When they did played it at the SXSW show, the crowds response to that line was one of the loudest things I've ever heard.

That one is super old, but I think this one with Pete Rock is still my personal favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z73CcodfT_w The one with the Heatmakerz was funny. Then there is always this one with Pharrell making a beat that he sounded better on than Natasha Ramos. That diss was whack anyway. loving Dr. Robotnik intro and poo poo lol. I've always thought of Cannibus as a lyrical phenom but that was one of his worst disses. -MTV.com-"According to Canibus, his 'issue' was that instead of simply mentioning him as a favorite and playing music from his old label, artists like J. Cole should do what Canibus did himself: show appreciation for elders by digging into their budgets and reaching out to make a song together. Right. “I can't help but to think that he is not nearly as sincere or genuine as he would like real hip hop heads to think he is because he speaks about me like I am dead,” He wants Cole to help him out ha. So he thinks the world owes him something? John Brown fucked around with this message at 02:40 on Dec 14, 2011 |
