Thread title says it all. When playing with a group of decent people it is really quite fun but it suffers from a low number of players and the free to play being very very basic. You're going to suffer quite badly if you don't shell out for stuff and stuff is expensive. Decent weapons costing as much as $50 to keep them permanently.

I don't change weapons too often except for secondry. I have at least experimented most there. Didn't care too much for the ak47 or whatever they call it but only tried it in the construction site when badly outnumbered with possible hackers. I say that because they always knew where people were when they really shouldn't have. From youtube the aimbot thing seems less annoying.

Got called a hacker by like 4 or 5 people tonight. SHAW owns. The best was the bronze who said I was boting and using a macro. A macro on my SHAW... Then again, how else could I have kept beating his Joker carbine at point blank range using the weapon with the highest ROF of any primary?

Alright, so the Jokers and all that nonsense that you get with the Steam promo, are they purchasable in the marketplace or something? I was just wondering what the deal is with them, since I was told that premium doesn't lock you out of items or weapons, it just gives you more money and prestige/faster ranks plus better customization. Also from the looks of it you only get a very, very limited selection of weapons in the vanilla game with no purchases.

There is a list of all the weapons that get unlocked with different contacts. Here is the one for the Prentiss Tigers http://www.apbrwiki.com/wiki/Prentiss_Tigers You want to get Chung Hee unlocked first as he gives you access to the ntec which is the best assault rifle and the Obeya which is a decent long and medium ranged weapon. When you buy a gun you get it for ten days but since you can make money fairly easily even as a cheap rear end free player like me so keeping your favorite stuff isn't going to be an issue. I've had the most success with the semi auto rifles so I reccomend those. And there is a hand gun called Joker something or other that is pretty decent if you have to fight at close range.

Had a pretty good run yesterday. SpaceJace, myself, and I think a pubbie were defending briefcases from a gang 9 or so crims. SpaceJace locked down one of the cases by himself, it never left the arson site. Meanwhile, I took my case on a joy ride in the starter car. I was pursued by one dumptruck, two sports cars and an SUV. They only caught up to me when the timer ran out (and when I exploded). Best way to end a mission

You 'rent' the in in-game guns with your game money. You can go to http://www.gamersfirst.com/marketplace/apb/ingame_login.php and buy either 'rented' special guns or permanent ones. There are various promotions here and there where you might get something permanent. Over the 6 months I've played I've got the Joker RFP-9 pistol and JG-840 shotgun, which come in handy. The Steam promo just gave a taste of what one of those Armas Market guns is like and what premium does. I don't mind the whole renting guns thing in this, but the cash shop suffers from some pretty serious pay-to-win syndrome. There are absolutely weapons in the cash shop which you cannot get anything analogous to with ingame currency, and which are unequivocally better than anything you can get with ingame currency. Unfortunately, people are really dumb so the cash shop prices are exorbitant. 50 bux for an internet sniper rifle? Sign me up

I bought a three slot Alig for a month and that was worth it. Instead of what, 2000-3000 kills to get the in-game money equivalent my few weeks with that one accelerated me towards the IGM alternative greatly. But buying uncustomizable outfits, weapons and vehicles, permanent? Using the same poo poo every day, every mission, every kill? I don't get those people but that's okay, their financial support might one day result in the game having punkbuster running constantly and proper new districts coming out.

Might be more like 8000 kills, it's 2000 from 13 to 14 and 5000 from 14 to 15. And that's only direct MG kills, blowing up cars people are in or near don't count.

BUT! I quickly re-created the carefully made camo outfit I had in the original APB, the one that often had me left behind or shot because even team-mates has trouble seeing me, and guess what?
