I'm knocking on wood really hard as I type this, but it's been over 6 months since I signed up for my free account, and it's still not limited in the amount of hours or number of plays per song I can have. I've been waiting for it to change before starting to pay for the service... any word on what their American plan is?

Is there a way to hide sidebar items in the PC app? I'm still on the trial version so I don't care about things like "Devices" when I could devote that space to more playlists. ( My scrollbar )

Is anybody else having problems with Spotify Premium for iPhone? I get a message at the top of the app that says "Spotify is offline" even though the desktop client recognizes my device over my home wifi connection.

As I recall it was supposed to start limiting your monthly play time after three months.

Spotify has been working pretty nice for me. It's really easy to look up any artist or album, much quicker than Youtube anyways. The playlists are also nice. I got 30 days free of Premium, and I really enjoy it. But still I'm a bit hesitant for the next month when I have to pay..

I've been using Spotify for a while now, but I've been exploring some other options - Rdio is nice but my current favorite is MOG actually, I'll probably start paying for for them soon. Same pricing as the others, $5 for desktop, $10 for mobile. It has seriously high quality tracks & I haven't found anything it doesn't have that the others do yet. Interface is HTML5 too, which is nice.

The features are fine, but the app is incredibly buggy, to the point of being almost unusable. It's also really unsupported. I gave up and committed to Spotify. I much preferred Rdio's service, but I have a lot of mixtapes and demos, and didn't want to jump from app to app to play music. Also, I do prefer the desktop app experience to the Web app one.

So my local library is a mess, lots of broken up albums and tracks out of order. All the tagging looks correct. So what is going on?

Also some of the stations seem to have their genres in a mess. I noticed some weird crossovers and decided to scroll through the genre stations to see. Hannah Montana was in the Emo category.

It's strange considering it's a huge draw to pay the £10 or whatever a month to have Spotify on the go. Spotify on my phone sees every track I have ever added to my phone, whether I have deleted it since or not. If it randomly picks a track it thinks exists but really doesn't, it instantly crashes. I don't remember the iPhone app being particularly good though. Quite a few times it would kick me out and require me to enter my username and password again.

I have a Nokia phone and have the same problem with Spotify not removing tracks that i've deleted from my phone. Only resetting the app seems to fix it, but you lose any offline playlists you had synced.

Ah you have just reminded me actually, the app has decided that I need to re-sync all my offline playlists again, for no discernible reason. Yay!

My desktop spotify keeps redownloading a bunch of songs i've made available offline every time i start the program. And a small number of songs simply refuse to be downloaded, but can be streamed just fine.

Okay, so I feel really dumb asking this, but how do i share music I listen to on facebook? As in get facebook to do the "So and so just listened to X by Y on spotify" or "X is listening to Y, listen with them!"

Right-click on a track or playlist and select "Share to" From there you get a tabbed screen with a bunch of different places you can share to. Put in a message there if you want and click "Share to <place>"

I'm having a problem with reorganizing my playlists. Whenever I drag and drop my playlists to sort them, Spotify rests/undoes my changes. It happens after I've moved two or three playlists, and it undoes the two or three changes that were made before the program "reset" or whatever it does.

I'm really not opposed to paying the 10 dollars a month for the unlimited service or whatever it's called but I saw a few programs that claim to be spotify code generators that will allow you to generate a code for 1, 3, 6, or 12 months. Now most of these I know involve surveys and signing up for so many offers and (if it goes where I think it does) then requires you to get 6 friends to do the same. I'd actually try that if I had a computer, but all I have is an iPhone 4s. Not having a computer (or much space) makes spotify the perfect app for me, but unlike pandora, where you can still have a free account but suffer through ads. you MUST have a premium account at least to use the mobile app. I am very late to the spotify game as I haven't had a computer in a while (it was hell trying to remember my password here and I don't even have the same email address anymore which made it that much harder) ...and I've digressed. Anyway, I'm currently enjoying the free premium trial for 30 days and will probably continue paying for the service or upgrading to ultimate unless I can get my hand on one of those codes. Is there any way besides these sketchy surveys to find those codes? If anyone knows reply on here or email me whitescalypieceofshit at gmail. Sorry if this has been covered. Like I said, all I have is an iPhone and I found this thread by searching "something awful forums spotify." I'm not necessarily asking for a code, just a direction to be pointed. I love this service but am terrible with googling for things like that with any success. Are they something that users earn or are they usually promotional things? Sorry for the ramble, thanks for the read. tl;dr is there any way to get a spotify premium or unlimited code without those sketchy survey code generators? Having an ongoing problem now where logging into the Android app kicks me out of the desktop program. Since you're supposed to open both the app and the desktop program on the same network to facilitate syncing, I seem to be kinda stuck. If I log back into the desktop program, it locks the Android app into "Offline mode," and nothing will sync. I can force close the Android app and restart it in online mode, but then it logs me out of the desktop app.

For the Dutch users who use Hi! as the service provider, you can get 6 months of Spotify for free + 500mb of mobile data. After the 6 months, it'll become 10 Euros/month. Just the Spotify Premium costs 10 Euros, so it's a great way to get an extra 500mb of data each month. http://www.hi.nl/Mijn-Hi/Home/Spotify.htm

Anyone know if it's possible to search Spotify's database without opening the desktop client at all? Google around with the words spotify, search, and catalogue. There are a bunch of websites that let you search the Spotify catalogue, including http://www.listenspotify.com/ and http://www.linein.org/examples/spotify/ Also this site is probably useful: https://www.spotify.com/us/about/spotify-on-the-web/, and they have a list of web-based search and browsing tools here: https://www.spotify.com/us/about/spotify-on-the-web/apps-search-browser-tools/

Along those lines, there's this: http://www.mattmontag.com/smasher/ Called Music Smasher, it's a search engine that lists results of your search from Rdio, Spotify, GrooveShark, SoundCloud, MOG, and Bandcamp. You can also use this to explore the differences in each service's library.
