Duckman2008 posted:I can look out up, but it's a known issue. The problem is differentiating between a known issue under warranty (note: covered outside of warranty in this case too) and physical damage that would void any warranty. And unfortunately, if the pins are damaged and not connected to the board, that wouldn't be covered. Does it charge at all? Sometimes, for the last week or so it's been having to be laid in a certain way to charge. Friday I woke up and it was completely dead. I got it to charge up for a bit, but it died again. I hadn't gotten it to charge since then. I'm still under warranty so going to call them tomorrow and see what's up. They gave me a different battery at the store and it seems to be charging for now.

So I took it in to the store today and when the repair lady plugged it in to check the charge, it worked just fine. Looks like it's my charger being finicky or something and not the port itself?

I was using a friend's evo charger that was giving him problems with my phone. I had to jiggle the cord a bit for it to charge my phone. It's been finicky with his phone too.

HTC's are usually really good, but they can still go.

So, what do people think of the chances the LG Marquee will get ICS? CNET is speculating yes, because the similar Optimus Black is getting it; others say no, since LG hasn't explicitly said the name "Marquee" in any of their news updates. I've been on SERO using WM6 for years now, think it's time for the upgrade to SERO-P but don't mind waiting another half-year or so for more options. The Marquee looks best at this point, but I suppose it's unlikely but possible we might see another 3G phone during that time frame.

I'll be honest, I would get the arrive over the marquee. I need to update the OP, it just isn't a great phone in my experience so far. Fyi future 3G phones will require SERO premium at $50,the marquee and the admiral were the last two to be allowed. I could be wrong, but that's what other people have said, and I have had the transform ultra be denied for a non $10 plan, so they are cutting off that loophole. Get the arrive (get it used, don't sign a contract) or just pay an extra $10 to get a better phone.

To continue the "hey, we randomly got WIMAX" discussion, parts of Burlington, VT got some WIMAX action via CLEAR sometime in the last month: http://www.clear.com/coverage?zip=05401 And guess where I live? If you guessed "one of those small, squarish areas that, despite being surrounded on all sides by WIMAX service somehow get none of their own," you're right! I also work in an area with no coverage, again, one of the areas that's surrounded on all sides by coverage, no less. And I work for the university...you'd think all the staff and students there would prompt some service...parts of campus have it, according to that map...but not all...and it's shoddy coverage, to boot...I was at the gym the other day, which says it is in the covered area, but no 4G. So I think I've had maybe ten minutes of 4G use on my EVO...and since odds are I'll upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus when that comes, and LTE won't be here for...I'm guessing at least two years, I'll never really experience 4G on that phone, either!

Hey Duckman I've got a question for you. Just today I've gotten a letter from Sprint saying I could add up to three more lines on my family plan. I thought the limit was 5 lines per plan? If I really can get a couple of more lines in it'd be pretty nice! I know the last time I tried to help a buddy out I was told I was maxed out but could open up another plan.

You probably are approved for a max of 10 lines, but after 5 you would have to start a new family plan. Fyi they used to authorized a 6th add a line on occasion for customers with extremely good standing (and on a case by case basis) but they cut that one completely, the rumor is they are going back and telling 6 line family plans they can't keep them (emphasis: rumor). Either way retentions is the only department able to do that, you can always ask them, I just wouldn't bet on it

I've got a question for all the Sprint people here: I jumped on Sprint last month fully intending to upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus when it comes out. However, the more I hear about the time period between now and when the Nexus will come out, I have to wonder if I will have some additional choices by then. Anyone care to speculate what else might hit Sprint in the near future, IE around the time or closely after the Galaxy Nexus comes out?

The screen protector on my Evo 3D was getting too scratched up so I decided to take it off. Am I going to regret not having a screen protector on my phone if I carry it around in the same pocket as my keys and such? I've heard the screens are sturdy enough to handle most things and that protectors are overkill but I wanted to make sure.
