If Forza Horizon turns out to be a single/multiplayer game instead of a persistent world, always online MMO, and if it has Forza 4's level of customization and simulation physics, it's going to be my dream racing game. I will never stop cruising on highways and drifting around corners in crowded city intersections with a garage full of gaudy-as-possible supercars.

I appear to be in the minority in thinking that an "open world racing game" is a terrible idea and is going to flop big time. It's just going to end up being nothing but "find highway, speed up to 200 mph, hit your friend head on, laugh for five minutes, realize you're bored, quit and go find a new game." Hope Turn 10 is farming development to someone else, because I'd much rather they focus their attention on something that has some longevity to it.. perhaps start gearing up to be a launch title for the next Microsoft console.

Goddamn yes, I don't care house much it is, if I can race a 944 again I'm getting that pack. I've been happy with RUF, mind you. I never used to race a high-end porsches but now I quite often find myself in a neon green S-class deathtrap!

They might have to downgrade the car models to support a giant world, but just don't touch anything else. Chances are it will be dumbed down and will just be DRIVE FERASERGHINIS AROUND THIS ISLAND and there will be no tuning or anything useful. I really really hope that there's actual technology transfer from Turn10 to whatever studio does this. Because it could just be MS trying to create an umbrella brand like EA did with Need for Speed, in which case Forza Horizon might have nothing to do with Forza as we know it. The trailer certainly doesn't seem too promising. Edit: xzzy posted:I appear to be in the minority in thinking that an "open world racing game" is a terrible idea and is going to flop big time. WHOA WHOA WHOA, did anyone else just notice the level 999 cap announcement? The Title 3 update is going to increase the cap to level 999. Holy poo poo. When does that update come out?

I've only driven a RUF once in Forza 4, the RT12 (completely stock, at that). Holy poo poo, how does something with that much power have NO BRAKES WHATSOEVER? Anyway, what I meant - regardless of you heathens agreeing with Clarkson that there's really only like three Porsches ever - was how many P-cars have actually been in Forza 1-3. Looks like about 33 total were in FM3 after all DLCs, but a lot of them were repaints of the various Cup cars. I do really hope we get a 917 and a 356. We've already had just about every era of 911 (except maybe the malaise-era 911SC but we could probably do without that), the 944, the 914/6, and all of the modern cars. Plus that glorious 550. For completion's sake I would also not hate a 908, 924, or 928 either. E: Level 999? What's that going to do for everyone already at L150? Are they going to get autobumped and a metric fuckload of credits, or will it just be for epeen only? Not that I'm anywhere near that

I wish one of these updates would be to add Rivals mode to each track / class combo. Even it is is only one variant of each track it would be nice to be able to race any car on any track in Rivals mode. Between the Season Pass and Porsche DLC I am hoping they just announce a complete set so I could sell off my disc and buy the complete set cheaper than it would be to buy the DLC alone.

I hope Forza Horizon adds all sorts of retarded customization, like Need for Speed Underground or whatever, but that it accurately models the affect those retarded bondo body-kits and budget slammed suspensions have on the vehicles performance. I want someone to spend a hundred thousand credits making their Honda Civic into a JDM-tite clowncar rolling on 400 pounds of chrome alloy just so I can drive circles around it in my 50hp stock Fiat Punto. And because I want to build a bosozoku Raptor and drive down the highway median at 110mph.

Especially how it takes less EXP to go from level 0 to 25 than it does to go from level 25 to 50. Those levels from 20-25 are particularly insane with their requirements.

edit: Disregard this, both of these were DLC on FM3 My guesses for four of the seven new-to-series vehicles:

If that's not the case that would suck because I've only just got them all to level 9 with a few exceptions where I've got them higher. At least it's good incentive to drive a variety of cats.
