The Zr1 is a total pain in the rear end, but for those using assists, they are really slowing you down. The hardest thing about the Zr1 challenge is the braking point for the straightaway. I got frustrated enough to put brake line on, but it probably slowed me down on the rest of the course. With tcs off, of course throttle control is really important, and not easy on with the controller, but ABS is really easy to use, just mash the trigger ALMOST all the way down and you are good. Lastly moving to manual with clutch will likely save you at least a second a lap, even compared to regular manual times. I posted a 1:31.9XX after maybe ten laps, but I haven't used TCS on anything but R1 since Forza 2...

I'm just finding that throttle modulation with a trigger to be, well, not fun. :-/ I'll try dicking around with manual options tonight because having that god drat thing bounce between 1st and 2nd gear mid turn was making me grind my teeth. As for the race line assist on Indy, holy loving is it bad. I keep it on as a reference point on how to take a turn conservatively if I can't remember the turn but it's just flat out hilarious and terrible on that track.

It's not hard. Hear tires squeal, let up on gas a bit. Once you get over the instinct to mash the gas every time you put the power on, it becomes really easy. I guarantee you will be a lot faster if you turn TCS off.

I'd support the Simply Sausages F1 team. Kind of want to go to a track day there just so that when I'm asked how it was I can reply with "it was simply sausages".

I had no trouble beating the target times on the previous KotT events, but this month is brutal. That track is not fun, all the corners look the same, and it's so wide I can't figure out a good line, because I always arrive at each corner at a different place on the track. Also that car is trying to kill me, all I have to do is look at it funny and the back whips around. And what's with the curbs on Indy, they aren't really tall or anything, but anytime I touch it the wheel slips off and I start spinning out...again. Regarding that Wiesmann, it does ride hard as gently caress, but my problem is with the brakes. The issue is that they don't... stop the car.

I really don't understand why people are having a hard time with the ZR1. I drive with braking line as my only assist, normal steering and manual w/clutch and the button swap (clutch is A). The car wants to understeer a ton, so you just have to be patient and easy on the gas.

When you switch over to using manual, here is a couple things to help you out. 1)in the Zr1 and other high powered cars, there is almost no need to ever go back down to 1st gear. Just leave that beast in 2nd. 2) If you find yourself plowing through a turn off power, shift down one more gear, it usually helps reel the front back in and give you some bite. However this can have an adverse effect if you are turning just fine and shift down again, you will spin. 3) also along the lines of shifting, if it is losing too much tracking on upshift, do it "right" by letting off of the gas for a split second as you shift gear, it helps keep the tail in check. I personally moved clutch to A, shift up to X and have shift down on B, but that is just the layout I like. There is a lot more that you will find trying it out for yourself, but it will make you faster for sure once you get the hang of it.

ZR1 is just essentially a crude Porsche GT3 RS with muscle-car steering instead of road feel. Drive it like the engine is in the back (brake early, turn in, use one gear lower than you thought you should but never go below mid-rev 2nd gear, ever, and then use throttle modulation to find the right angle as you come out) and it's much easier. e: f;b on some of that. These rivals challenges this month are just pissing me off. lovely cars on lovely tracks. I think the Corvette would actually be fun to drive if it wasn't on Indy. But this Wiesmann is just terrible and I have no idea how anyone would ever want to buy it. I don't really understand how it is S class. It handles like poo poo, brakes like poo poo, and when you stomp on the gas it just slowly accelerates while bouncing down the track. It feels like it has no power when the tires grip, but it still somehow spins its lovely tires. Somehow the gears feel too short and too long at the same time. One gear takes too long to spool up, then the next gear is gone in a second. Germans made this car? I don't see how.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am finished. I started on one, did one, and kept going. Here are the last 10 cars for Project 82. Crow T MacBot, Captain Howdy, and IOwnCalculus, you're up to pick! 73 of 82: "Goon Car" am I doing this rite guys I'll add the as soon as I get it from greg. 74 of 82: "Sweden Special" There are 740 Swedish flags (actually visible) on this car. Also, I've grown to loathe the fenders on the Delta. 75 of 82: "Mild Seven" Base on another Porsche race car. Not sure why I'm doing this when it's going to be another two months before I can actually paint Porsches. 76 of 82: "Resume to Interviews" This could probably be considered another "goon car", all things considered. 77 of 82: "Mobil 1 Rally" Not another skittles car. 78 of 82: "The Sting" I took an Audi race car, and swapped the colors around to be the Abarth colors. If I had an Abarth scorpion, it'd go right on the roof. Did I mention I hate the fenders on the Delta? 79 of 82 "Relentless" When looking up the Bell Helicopters logo for the "Macross" themed cars, their front page had their Model 525 "Relentless" with a very pretty livery. This is a tribute. 80 of 82 "Ghost" Yes, there are decals on this car. 81 of 82 "Stealth" Yes, there are decals on this car. 82 of 82 "82" The last in line. (ooh, maybe I should've made a Dio car instead)

So I just got the "thanks for bothering" car for last month's KotT. Whoever painted it f'ed up on the license plate on the back and the outlining on the grille is noticably off-center. Not to mention the entire thing literally looks like something I could have slapped together in 10 minutes with stuff bought on the storefront. I know this blinged-up Bentley is the most worthless car in the entire game, but come ON. Was this a booby prize? At least it can be sold for 275,000 credits. And now I just noticed the paint scheme on the Huayra from the CJ Wilson event is slightly crooked too. I think I'll just pass on King of the Track events from now on, this is shameful.
