Dr. Faustus posted:I watched that collision several times setting up that picture, and I want to clarify that the reason I found it amusing was, as the word I used over at GTCC, the deformation of the two 'Stangs. The hit looks and sounds rather minor, but suddenly the cars have interlocking scoops taken out of them. Oh, no, I don't mean to sound upset about it. Besides, we spent the rest of that race going on about how terrible a person Synmoo was, but it was thanks to him I finished ahead of Case (both of us stuck on a hill with 10 HP, me going backwards). If I had a capture card, I'd upload that 'race' set to Eye of the Tiger.

In one of the games with a developer last night, the dev was talking about another race he had done for the event which was a Fujimi uphill F-class FWD only with the no-traction setting. He said cars couldn't get up the first hill. As an interesting side-note, there was a simulation-damage soccer game limited to Squires hosted by one of the other devs.

I'm a little pissed at the game with devs thing. It was completely disorganized and I couldn't even get the server to load games when the devs made them, let alone join. I'm never gonna drive a unicorn I have no idea how you all managed to snag those fill in the missing letter codes either. Madness.

Joining games is just luck--I managed to get into two, but didn't earn a uni in the first. The codes I'd imagine are copy and paste and lucky guesses, but I didn't want to put in effort for something I'll get in a couple days anyway. Do the king of the track rivals events. They can get you unicorns too.

I (and other goons) try to keep people up to date with all current opportunities to win cars, especially unicorns, so make sure you keep up with this thread. On any given month there is at least 1 unicorn that can be obtained, some months such as this one you can even get 3+ but there can be some restrictions on who can win them (VIP, DLC owners etc) or they can be hard to win like it was the case withWiesmann on Nurburg and JPMontoya on Indy GP. That last one is ongoing.

Huge amounts of film has been burned filming similar accidents on that corner. Adenauer Forst is the destroyer of overconfident drivers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZb7sbRFCF0 The number of VW's rolling over illustrates why having one in this game would be so drat comical.

I assume that many of these are just people who decided to just drive their car on the ring? What a way to end your holiday by destroying your car. I didn't think much of it for some of the earlier ones where the car flips and a guy gets out with a helmet. Then I started seeing people rolling their cars and then things normal people keep in their daily drivers starts flying out. Then people dressed like they were going to the shops or something start flinging their cars around the corner. I think the convertible VW is the bravest of all. The most badass is the guy on the motorcycle that jumps the curb then just keeps going.

Yeah, open track days are a tradition at the ring. Anyone who pays the admission can bring any car they want onto the track and run a lap.

You also have to keep in mind that all those happened in a time when most people wouldn't use seatbelts because they thought it was safer to be thrown out of a car if it crashed, so the fact that so many of those rollovers ended with the people inside getting up and walking away is a miracle in and of itself.

What is the general consensus on the kinect for Forza ? Does it make cockpit view more enjoyable? I like cockpit view because its fun, but it seems that view is really only useful in a 3 TV panorama setup. I'm probably getting a connect to use for video chat with mom n dad so its not a question of wasting money. More if its a help or hindrance to forza's immersiveness.

But other than that it works great. I mean, I'm not looking away from the TV too often while I'm actually playing the game. My only real complaint is the amount that the view changes isn't nearly enough.. you can look into corners a little bit, but nowhere near as much as I'd like. I'd say it allows maybe 15 degrees off center, which isn't much, and it would be nice to be able to look out the side windows or something.

It's pretty impressive that the Spada drives almost as badly as it looks. That race was pretty hilarious though; I think half the field was collected in that crash in the last picture.
