farmtrill posted:e: to the dude posting emilio, are there any songs were he doesnt sound like drake on helium? because he has some pretty decent lyrics, i just cant get over the way his voice sounds. Unfortunately there's not. I've listened to literally everything that he's put out and have yet to hear a song where he's not bordering a chipmunk tone. Also, he talks about women but not nearly as much as Wale or J. Cole.

Ricky B is early bounce, but here's some other very similar stuff: Enjoying this, thank you. I've always been curious about NOLA and where to start. I really enjoyed the sound Mystikal had on the tarantula record going in over jazzy horns and snares highly visible example. Any recommendations on that kind of sound?

I can't think of too much off the top of my head that has that live sounding instrumentation that isn't a live band or local act. Once in a while Galactic or someone like that will have a rapper. David Banner tried it on some songs a while back and there were a couple artists using marching bands, but I'll have to get back to you on that one. I would keep exploring Cash Money's catalog and you're bound to find something that fits what you're looking for

Just Blaze has confirmed that as a leak. So no, it was not "dropped." It was accidently and embarrassingly farted out. edit: Jay E is almost certainly trolling us. ONLY THREE official releases in the last THREE YEARS.

I can't believe that the only post in this thread about the new Kanye track went unnoticed. Personally, I love Therfalu - it's pretty baseless but this is exactly what I want to hear out of Kanye. I'm a sucker for rappers who love to just boast on tracks. http://www.kanyewest.com e: I've also been listening to a bunch of early 2000's rap, meaning Luda, Nelly (), and some Diddy verses. This song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmHMcKN8xlI. "If it ain't about no money Puff I just don't care" is easily one of my favorite lines. I've been into The Cool Kids for years and there earlier stuff hasn't really aged well. I still enjoy songs like this but I admit it's corny as poo poo but I place that on them being so young. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cls-QMQgwqM I think Chuck really came into his own though production wise and like someone else said got his name out there pretty well. Any of you guys have thoughts on Willie The Kid? I heard him a years ago when he was on some Young Money poo poo(dedications) and every now and then I see him on a song with someone like curren$y or his Dj Drama tapes or whatever. I don't think he's going to get famous or that he's very good I just don't hear about him ever. I know he's from Michigan and LA Darkman is his brother but anybody really familiar with him? I know it's sort of a boring rapper to ask about but I rediscovered him recently and my interest is piqued. Not really a good song but I'm sure some of you have heard it "Calico Flow' Willie n LA D. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgPiJU4YgcE

Willie and LA Darkman never got their shine for a reason: they are thoroughly average and they were outdone by other people who do their sound better. They're decent enough to be the 2nd or 3rd guest on a track, but I never get excited when I see a song or album with them attached. I'm glad to see that the Cool Kids have 'grown' over the past couple years. I saw them at one of the PFM in Chicago in like 2007 and they put on a hell of a show, but they only had like 35 minutes worth of material then and I've heard that their shows are still pretty short.
