Gone fishing was a great direction for the cool kids to go in, but their album tanked (mountain dew??) and I don't think they have any future as a group

I got to disagree on Willie The Kid and LA The Darkman. LA's first solo album, 'Heist of the Century', is a classic and one of the best Wu-affiliate albums. In my eyes, it's only second to Killarmy's 'Silent Weapons for Quiet Warfare' and Cappadonna's 'The Pillage'. They had a falling-out with DJ Drama and he was the only big-time DJ that was loving with them and promoting them. They have some great tracks though, I feel like LA has one of the best voices in hip-hop and a great delivery. One of my favorites off 'Heist of the Century' and Raekwon actually did the beat for this track, 'Spring Water': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdHXTHiezH4 Here's some good tracks the two brothers did together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkvXCih4U0I&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzOu1aRjtQ0&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djZZFRnE2NU LISTEN TO THIS ONE ESPECIALLY EDIT: I'm a big Cool Kids fan but I feel like Mikey Rocks kind of has been stuck in the same lane and hasn't grown at all, so he's just stagnating. He has to switch it up a little bit, and I don't think Jet Life is a good look - it's just more of the same. Chuck Inglish is a lot more successful and has established himself as one of the best producers out right now. BigOldSkullRing fucked around with this message at 19:16 on Apr 11, 2012 |

It wasn't really a bad album, just not something I really would look for. And the single is ok, but it does sound like something that would've fit in on bazooka tooth (for better or worse)

Trip Report: Gibbs' first UK show was mad. Played Slammin, What It Be Like, Thuggin, Neighbourhood Ho's, some sick acapellas and some new stuff that I don't remember the names of. There were snippets of the beat for Born 2 Roll but he didn't do it (one of my favourites). Cheap ticket (£7) but the drinks jheeeez - £12 for a double vodka redbull and a bottle of Stella! Some nasty cold flared up a couple of days ago but I downed a cup of Lemsip before I started drinking at home and it was all good. GANGSTER GIBBS. Edit: Oh yea, he opened with Rob Me A N*gga which was pretty awkward to leave out the n-words (when singing along obviously) but still, madness WaffleACAB fucked around with this message at 03:43 on Apr 14, 2012 |

My pops predicted this it's gotta be at least 10 years ago, he was saying we'll have major motion pictures starring dead actors. While this isn't quite the same thing it is a performance at a major festival by arguably Hip-Hop's biggest star who just happens to have been dead for 16 years. THNDRTHF posted:anyone see the new Aesop Rock single (i know, you hate him) The Hail Mary Mallon tape was pretty good and got me excited again for a more serious Aes Rock release. In similar news El-P's got an album dropping this year as well as Cage, who's new stuff sounds a lot closer to MFTB or Hellz Winter than it does to Depart From Me. I'm pretty excited for all of it because no matter how much my taste has evolved or expanded they were a Holy Trinity for me when I first started getting into Hip-Hop as a teen. Plus the new El poo poo's got features from Danny Brown and Exquire who are my two favourite new guys on the scene besides the slangcorp camp.

It's time for French to make the next step and land a deal. uhhhhh yeah about that deal he signed to BAD BOY like 2 months ago! coke boys 3 was a huge disappointment on first listen. ill definitely give it another shot because coke boys 2 is like the best tape of the past year or so but drat.... dont do this to me french. one that that really pissed me off is when they attempt to auto-tune frenchs tone deaf vocals. YOU DONT DO THAT. the whole point is that he CANT sing. if they learned nothing from stay schemin its that french being an awful singer WORKS, so dont gently caress with that. it wasnt even done in a creative way (see uhhhh most dancehall hits of today or any 09/10 gucci song were he uses it), really it was just plain awful. also i seem to remember wale really pissing me off on the song he was on. so overall i only remember the 2 things i hated about the tape. maybe there was something i liked. disgruntled french montana fan signing off
