New Goodie Mob is kinda lame, too much Cee-Lo. I really only listen to Soul Food these days though and I don't think they're going to make anything like it again, Fight To Win is like World Party plus even more bullshit. Here's a link for the vid since it's top of the page

Yea that was so disappointing. There was like two seconds of rapping at the start and then all boring Cee-lo singing for the rest of it (I couldn't hear Khuko or Gipp at all). Soul Food and Still Standing are two of the best albums I've ever heard but I won't be anticipating anything good from this reunion.

aye aye, punk weight are highlights. I don't think they've topped beware or death heated yet. looking forward to their second album this year, if it happens. wanna hear remixes of some of these tracks. wanna hear arabmuzik get his jazz fingers on

Yea Beware is still mind-blowing, but so far I like this album more than ex-military. This El-p record does not disappoint. But now I want to hear R.A.P Music even more. Also out today another grimy banger from Ab-soul with Schoolboy Q - Sopa. Its good but his and Q's tendency to throw in random references to other rap songs is getting a little tiring. Kool A.D. has a new mixtape featuring Main Attraktionz and Boots Riley. Im about halfway through it so far the production is good and he's been rapping well rather than making silly nosies as in some of the DR verses. snyprmag fucked around with this message at 00:25 on Apr 25, 2012 |

It is on The Voice though, so it has to be palatable to moms. Not that that track isn't garbage. Maybe there'll be an OMNI on the album somewhere...

Yeah really not feeling the beat/hook at all, verses are reasonably dope.

I'd like to hear more rap out of Alabama, really like the production and general sound g-side has on iSland. Sometimes really interesting flow, sometimes I get a little tired of "phrase" --> "phrase with a drawn out last word to make the meter work," actually mentioning it I'm pretty sure that's on No U in Us pretty prominently. Ain't no U in uuuuuuuuss. Some really good rap overall though. Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRcXx2UYc1s I like this track a lot, shows their strengths at rapping and the slick production. Plus some great bars. I don't know why these guys are still pretty much unknown. Two great albums in 2011 and... where's the attention? I've finally started listening to the most recent Metro Zu tape (70+ tracks!) and it's surprisingly good. Like, the production is just so consistent, I'd expect a lot more throwaway/filler with so much stuff. I just wish they'd expand a bit with their subject matter but w/e it's still really really good.

re Bama: Anything Slow Motion Soundz or Block Beataz is involved with is going to be a lot like G-Side, so check out PRGz, Yelawolf, Jackie Chain and then the individual stuff by Mr. Marcellus, ST 2 Lettaz and Clova. There's a bunch of mixtapes out. There's other Bama stuff like Rich Boy, Pikasso (I think he's from Bama), and KD. There's also a lot of stuff associated with DJ Burn One that fits that general theme, but Block Beataz are going to give you the 80s-riff heavy production and weird little loops people like.

I'm working on the discs, one at a time. I'm surprised too. I haven't listened to the tracks a ton, but the beats are great, mostly. I love Mountain, OunceBounce and DonkRacer. I'm excited to see what these guys can do in the next year to evolve and hone their sound.
