Is there some way to verify that it installed on my ps3? I've seen people say it installs when you start playing but I didn't have that much space(~4gb?) in the first place. Its playing ok but am I only playing off the disk? My game data is showing it at 239mb.

Pro tip for new players: when you do the escort quest from the beginning town to the second town, with (Captain) Mercedes, don't try and ride the cows outside the city when you arrive, without saving..

I tried this, and ended up running over my main pawn, who proceeded to go batshit crazy and start slaughtering cows. It was terrifying.

This is an amazing game.

Correction. I just needed to apply shock and awe to the bandits in the Grimoire quest.

i ran in, pissed them off, and got the bandit leader REALLY pissed at me, drew him away, my strider stunned him, I picked him up... and then I pitched him over the battlements.

Gravity fixes everything in this game.

I found a silver idol. It was actually a reward from a noticeboard quest. I had been ignoring those all game because I was gaining enough strength to keep up with the game without them, and they all sounded really boring and grindy for the most part.

This was an okay one to go kill a cyclops at least though.

I just walked past the non-hostile bandits, climbed the tower, grabbed the book, and then jumped down the cliffside.

A lot less fuss.

Man it feels so great when your pawn returns and you have so many great comments. Then there's one where it's like 1 star appearance and 5 star everything.

Dude probably wanted a 12 year old girl for his mage pawn :colbert:

Yes, but my way involved sauntering into a bandit stronghold and pitching their boss off a cliff. Ultimately, it was more satisfying than the more peaceful solution.

So I was doing the Grimoir quest and was in the forest near the bandit camp when I got jumped by a Chimera, sadly for Mr Chimera, I had 2 Warriors, 1 Mage and an Assasin, myself all attacking him.
I spent most of the fight riding him around slashing him to bits while my pawns were running about yelling constantly.

What's awesome is that my character is about 4 foot in height and looks like a 7 year old, totally badass though.

Oh man, this game.

I was doing the Grimoire quest, and had been doing well. I'd taken the high ground, and basically killed off all the bandits but the boss and an archer. I was up on the battlements, cheesing one of them by standing on a parapet while using AOE freeze...

... and the archer full bend shotted me off the battlements, to fall to my death about 100 feet below and a mile away.

Yep. Thinking I need to wait a bit on that quest.

I really love stuff like that. I was wandering out on a clifftop, and I hear a kind of leathery bending noise. I was like "Hey, that sounds like a longbo-" then an arrow hits me and I go flying off the cliff.

A full half of the times I've died, it's been crazy poo poo like that, where you can't help but laugh and say "holy poo poo, I can't believe that just happened!"

You can find a lot in The Water God's Alter and the Catacombs. Or just out at night time north of Gran Soren.

There are some in the entrance to the altar of the water god, or whatever that place is behind the waterfall a bit south of Gran Soren. That said, it was only a few, no idea what you find deeper in (I legged it).

Has anyone been playing magic archer? Is it fun? I'm so lost as to what I should go for. It certainly sounds right for me. Do you buff your daggers like mages/sorcerers can? Do you still need to aim or is it locked on?

Sorry for all the questions I just want to know before spending the discipline points to unlock the class since I've already unlocked the assassin

I'm enjoying it. You get a few magic-y dagger skills, but no enchantment spells. Your arrows home in a little and you can buy a core skill to improve their homing.

You get all sorts of fun arrow skills like hunter arrows that can lock on the 10 different enemies at once (or ten different parts of a big monster), sixfold shot, exploding arrows, arrows that ricochet off the walls and get stronger with each bounce.

It's pretty sweet, is what I'm saying.

EDIT: Also you can be the human torch. That's cool too.

Fun story about Water God's Altar i went there before the quest where you get the slates, so i could just kind of hand them in right away at the entrance to the dungeon. saved me a load of time.

I'll just say this again about Magick Archer, you gotta give it some levels before it REALLY starts getting good. It starts off pretty mediocre but turns into a killing machine. Being able to hit ~10 enemies over and over, then use an electric whip to destroy them all is amazing. There's just a bunch of different combos in which to... kill.

I'm thinking this game is GOTY for me, it's like what I always imagined a real Dungeons and Dragons action/rpg to be.

Are there any more longbows to buy/find aside from the Reinforced Longbow you get from the Merchant in Gran Soren because I've found and bought plenty of shortbows but have yet to find another longbow? I like the longbow's skill set better than the shortbow's but it does considerably worse damage compared to my Hunter's Bow.

Bingo. I've pretty much felt the same exact way and it's so great. I'm a little worried about replay value at this point, but as an immersive fantasy roleplaying experience, it's second to none, in my opinion.

Do you recommend using daggers or a staff as the main weapon or putting points into skills for both? I'd prefer to keep using daggers like my strider

I'd just stick with the daggers, switching between the two is a bit of a hassle and it takes a while to unlock the more useful spells as a magick archer (High Bromide :swoon:)

It's your choice, I went Staff just because I wanted to be a range-oriented character. The lower tier spells are garbage though so you'd do better with daggers at the start. Once you get stronger spells, it's worth it but as with everything, there's no wrong way to play it.

I prefer to roll with a melee option and a ranged option at all times. You can generally be pretty sure of what your pawn is going to do, but you never know when someone else's will screw off because they saw something shiny drop.

Between the sword&Shield bandits on the way to Witchwood and that troll under the pawn's guild, I'm making really slow progress.

How viable is it to always rent your healers? After finally ordering this I was going to roll one of the four Strider vocations myself and have my main pawn be a Fighter/general tank, but then I realized that I would always have to get healing mages from other people. Is it easy enough to search for the skills you need that I could rely on getting the ones I'm missing from others, or is that sort of luck-based? I've seen search criteria in videos for vocations but not skills.

So I'm still early on and figuring things out, I noticed at the completion of the early main mission - the snake head convoy - a whole bunch of my side quests got cancelled. I would also like to know this. I've found that I can really murder things using that 10-arrow at once skill, but it'd be nice not to need three or four regular hits to take out a goblin.

EDIT: Also, where do you find chaffstem? I've picked some up before, but I don't remember where, and I need it for some upgrades. Alternatively, someone with some extra want to borrow my pawn and send her back with some? PSN: phentyn
