I cringe so hard at the idea of every two-chinned creepoid meticulously crafting the sliders of his perfect original waifu, controlling every aspect of his demure cyber-bride's demeanor and looks, just as it should be for all women. Don't think this doesn't apply to you, goons. VVV Haha this guy obviously has a 12 year old girl pawn Caesar Saladin fucked around with this message at 07:45 on May 26, 2012 |

Where do I get a "flagon of water" for this little brat for the Escort Duty quest? It's Fournival's kid, she's got me walking her around the city and playing hide and seek and stuff.

Warrior is loving amazing. Got the Gryphic Victory sword from an escort and cleaved a loving boulder some bandits rolled at me down a slope. No Honor Among Thieves: Anyone have any idea what Maul's Badge of Amity does? I got the traitor to come back and they spared him and gave me this thing and claimed it would grant free passage of some sort. Doesn't seem to do jack poo poo.

It's pretty confusing, though one of the better cities I've seen in a game. The Wyrm Hunt is not really a thing you do so much as a banner under which you do stuff for the Duke's monarchy, you talk to the guy and he'll give you a choice between four or five different quests. Other big monsters are already around, you'll start finding them when you do vv The forgery shop, The Black Cat, is down in the residential area. There are two other vendors in the area, one of which is unmarked (but across the street from The Black Cat), I believe. quote:Where do I get a "flagon of water" for this little brat for the Escort Duty quest? Holy poo poo. What the hell is with the quest when you meet the Duke's wife in her bedchambers? What happens if you beat the Duke's rear end while he's choking his wife out? I quit after the gameplay was ushered in after the cut scene because I didn't want to gently caress my game up by being a horrible kingslayer.

Samurai Sanders posted:To me this doesn't jive with you saying it's like Dark souls, I assume as a positive. One reason DS and this are good is because of how little they guide you. Well, there's a difference between how they telegraph what you need to do. In Dark Souls, you know you have to go ring the bells and have three discrete paths to start down. You might not know exactly where they are (though you have an idea) but you know what you need to do. In this you get to the city and it's like "Uh. Well, here's the city. Go do quests or something, I guess? Oh, by the way. This game has quests. You should probably find some"

I can't work out what the gently caress I'm meant to be doing in this game, and not even in a Dark Souls kind of way. At least there I just knew I was poo poo and had to get better, once I get to the capital in this I have absolutely no idea where I'm supposed to go. Taking an escort quest across the map either gets me entirely raped by lizardmen and bandits at level 10, going into the pawn guild's giant hole in the ground gets me utterly destroyed by some kind of werewolf that I can't do any damage to. My weapons seem to do sfa damage to absolutely anything I try to fight and my pawns die nigh-instantly to everything with a pulse (and a lot of stuff without). It was great up to and including the hydra fight, but now I'm really just stuck without any idea of where to go, what to do or even where to earn cash to buy weapons

drat. Just met the Duchess and even though I'm playing a female character, that entire scene was just telegraphing a romance right there. Wonder if it actually pans out or if it's just a thing. Also, for the beginning of the quest The Conspirators, the dude is not showing up in the marked place at night. Do I just stick around and wait, or is the marked place actually wrong?

I've been watching my friend play it for the first time recently and he was just as bamboozled and overwhelmed and felt like every way to go was the wrong way. Once you get past Firelink and into the Parish you're fine though, since there's only a couple of paths to go from there. This is literally a 360 degree map of confusion with no indication of appropriate levels or difficulty, and the only enemies I can find that I can kill without too much trouble is a bunch of bandits right outside the capital. Anything further out is basically instant death, and there's not even really a central storyline quest to guide you along the semi-recommended route
