Did you use the forged things from up at the wall? or just genuine items? how many and what type?

Here's what I turned in that got him declared innocent:

-All the acquittal things available from people in Gran Soren.
-Escort soldier back from Windbluff Tower.
-Buy all the forgeries.

Don't know if every single one of those is necessary, but some people only did the first two and apparently it wasn't enough.

I'm not sure exactly what caused it but I talked to him originally and told him to run away, and he says he will think about it so I let him be. I came back later because he was still there and told him to go offer his life to Maul and he just sort of went "Yeah, okay" and left and that was that.

I gotcha. My problem is that I got both quests before I went and ran him down. So now when I see him wandering about town, if he notices me, he runs away. Am I supposed to hit him and tackle him again? Or somehow talk to him before he gets away? I get the feeling not a lot of people experience this.

Did this include what you can get from cassardia, or just the ones you buy up north at the great wall?

Problem is I cant get ahold of whatever it is marked on my map in fishy town, I think maybe it requires some other quest I haven't completed.

The guy in Cassardis is a witness that will testify that Fournival is guilty. Thinking back on it I think I just got lucky because I had Reynard (I think that's his name, the traveling merchant who will sell you fake petitions/acquittals) appear in fountain square so I just bought all the innocent forgeries he had on him, which I think were 3-4. If he's not there you'll have to find him I guess, but I never went to Greatwall, just talked to everyone in Gran Soren, got the forgeries, and brought back the soldier from up north.

e: Also this postgame content is loving amazing. It makes me want to beat it just to start a NG+ just to get back and do this part all over again. Does anyone know if the chambers re-populate? Seems like if they do then farming a bunch of wakestones, dumping them all into your storage so the quest doesn't complete, and then selling them would be a decent way to make money.

I know I turned in...

All Reynard forgeries for Innocent. The Priest's. And escorted the guy. I failed to turn in Symone's as I sent it to get forged (wanted to test if you could make two of one and turn it in, then I noticed the severally small time limit (3 days) and after giving it to the guy and sleeping at the inn I immediately had to leave for work. Got back, and my first thought was *sleep at the inn to get Rift Crystals and such from my pawn* So when I left the next day <cutscene!>). But yeah, you can at least fail to turn in one of those and get it just fine.

If it doesn't stack, it's a forgery. Its description should also note that it's a forgery. As for where to get another shard, uh, good luck.

There's one at the bottom of the Everfall, and you can buy one from Fournival for 15,000 I believe?

For the trial quest:
I only bought one forged petition and he was declared innocent-- aside from that I got all the Gran Soren petitions and brought the soldier from the north.

Yeah, the Trial seems to be heavily skewed toward buying/using the forged evidence. I got the petition from the guy in the castle, escorted the soldier, got the letter from the priest and document from the manor and mine still turned out guilty.

Only thing that really irritates me about the whole situation is that it makes it impossible to get a gold idol now, apparently? So I have to decide who gets the real silver and who gets the fake... hmn.

They do. I fought the black drake a few times for fun. But man, gently caress the magic immune beholder. I just had to twiddle my thumbs and wait for my pawns to kill it for me. The chests inside the mini dungeons do repopulate, the ones on the ledges do not. Also keep in mind that you can't remove things from the storage guy in the refugee camp. You'll have to go somewhere else if you put your wakestones in storage.

My pawn has been hired quite a few times, he's brought back about 9 or 10 items, but he's not had any ratings. Is this a bug or is he just not making an impression? My nat type is 3 but this doesn't seem likely to make a difference. It's pretty strange because his stats are crazy for his level (350 str and 294 defence at L16) at least compared to other warrior pawns that I see.

Alternatively, can I just go meet with the duke without fear of the quest being abandoned?

I was having the same problem till I figured it out a little earlier. Go to the southern point and go west on the side path nearby (it's right past the pawn encampment/sewer cave from the first town) and continue down the road through a bunch of bandits till you reach a castle. If you still can't find it then a hint is to go up.

Asalam moves to the pawn guild and has all the same functionality as he did in the inn.

Can someone confirm/list the things that move over with you when you start a New Game+? I don't know if I should keep the heaps of poo poo I have(to sell in the next game) or if I can sell it all here and have my gold move over. Is buying all the best gear and upgrading it in order to start the next game with it a decent idea, or is that not possible? I just need a confirmed list before I decide to poopsock the poo poo out of the postgame stuff and I'm too afraid of the save system to backup a save and see for myself.

Not 100% on this, but I BELIEVE this happens when your pawn goes forfeit in another player's game. They just vanish, so that player doesn't have a chance to rate or give an actual gift - the items you get are likely whatever was in the Pawn's inventory at the time.

Everything you own, including what you wear goes to storage. You also get to go to the character editor again and make a completely different person with your end game stats if you'd like, which I think is great. The infinite use version of the item that lets you edit you and your pawns looks also carries over as far as I can tell.

I just read on gamefaqs that apparently the computer will simulate your pawn being rented and send you items. It's a bit disappointing that no one's bothered renting him out when he's pretty carefully built. Oh well let them run around with each other's newbie gear midget lolitas if they want.

When you keep your stats do you also keep your level? Do you pick between starting a brand new character or continuing with your own basically? Also what about gold? Should I be saving up poo poo to sell next game or is it safe to sell it all now before starting a NG+?

I'm pretty sure that everything in your pawn's inventory on taking them out of your group or letting them go forfeit gets transferred to your own storage...

It seems to be a known bug with some quests where for one reason or another the person you need to talk to won't spawn. It might depend on time of day or just some weird randomness related to how the game populates the city. When he appears he'll be marked with a red circle so you can't miss him, so if he's not there just go do another quest or fight some stuff outside or do something to waste time.

You keep your level. When you choose to load your save after the credits roll, it will ask whether you want to go post game. Your new game character will be the default for the character creator. Gold, skills, rift crystals, everything is there. You lose nothing in the transition, but your offensive skills are unequiped. Your core skills and augments remain in place.

Aww that sucks. I wanted to start another game but play a sorcerer this time and have my pawn be a warrior, but my stats are completely lopsided already since I'm level 55 and have basically been an assassin for like 40 levels while my pawn's been a mage/sorcerer the entire time. Well gently caress. :(

From what I've read, worst reward for the quest.

They get better gear selection earlier depending on which idol you give them. Bronze, silver, and gold. Giving them gold allows them to sell a unique weapon in their store. Someone it was some two hander if you give it to Madeline.

Thing is, that GameFAQs statement is just based on guesswork, and honestly, I am more likely to believe it's the case of a pawn dying with stuff as opposed to this mystical "Computer simulated pawn rental". One Character Per Storage Device Per Profile. It just isn't as quick to say sadly. The point is. For each storage device you have you can make 1 character for each profile. So, with 4 profiles and 2 storage devices, you have 8 character slots. With 8435 profiles and 1 storage device, you have 8435 character slots. With 1 profile and 12 storage devices, you have 12 character slots and a fuckton of hard drives/flash drives/etc.

Also, VDay, I doubt you'll be overly gimped by switching to Sorcerer or Mage, especially not Sorcerer given that they get such a high magic gain up to level 100. And even regardless, Assassin still has okay magic attack gain (2 as opposed to 5 for Sorc and 4 for Mage. But if you're really worried, you might want to just switch to Magic Knight for ~10 levels or so first, but that would really only make it take longer to really test out Sorcerer. Probably best to just become Sorcerer and mostly let your pawns do it, although what with the enemies still being normal weaklings, that isn't too necessary no doubt.

When it happens your pawn never gains any knowledge or EXP. No list of gamer tags is ever given. The pawn doesn't learn any other pawns. You never receive more items than listed gamer tags, when if this were the case you'd see that happen at least as often as the lack of gamer tag.

People have encountered the same thing while not connected to XBL, anyway, so I mean yeah, it's pretty obviously simulated rental. Not sure why you find that concept so unlikely. With pawns being such a big part of the game, and with a good few items being purchasable only with rift crystals, seems like an obvious thing to do. There's "fake" rentable pawns, too, which don't belong to anyone.
