I bought 2 water lilies that were originally in a mesh wrap padded out with coconut husk. The root system on both has grown way out of them though and I'm wondering if this was supposed to be temporary or something, or if they'd be better off in soil. Unfortunately I'm finding completely conflicting info on what I should even do about potting them. Some sites say coconut husk is a perfectly good idea (okay, how do I fertilize it if that's true?), I've seen others say use rocks, clay, or potting soil.

So I am taking a 5 hour math course this summer and I have also have a prescription for 10 mg of adderal. Should i take this in the car before enter campus or if I take it in the bathroom before class will I be locked up in federal prison on drug charges and be forced to join a gang and get several swastikas tattooed on me to survive.

Which of the free storage services are the ones to use? I am spreading things across SkyDrive, Dropbox, SugarSync, SpiderOak, Amazon Cloud Drive. I am tempted to pay the $20 for 20GB a year of Amazon, so that I can store my huge music collection (350gb) for free, but if they are going to pull that offer down after a year, it does not really count as backup.

Wasn't sure whether to ask this in Serious Hardware/Software Crap, but I figure here would be okay: What's the best/cheapest way to get a decent version of Microsoft Word? I have Office 2007 on this computer but can't use it because I guess it was on a trial that ran out. No interest in the other parts of MS Office, just need Word. I tried OpenOffice but it's incompatible with some formats and documents I need to edit. Microsoft and Google are coming out with some ridiculous prices and money is an issue for me, so I was wondering if old versions are cheaper or if there's any good deals I'm missing or...Anything?

I take Adderall too and as far as I'm aware you don't have anything to worry about as long as you have the prescription bottle saying you're supposed to take it. Nobody ever says anything about it when I've taken it in the middle of class.

Before I signed up I compared features with Dropbox and thought that spideroak was better for my needs, but I didn't compare it to the other ones that you list. I was going to use it for media files, but quickly found that it's so much of a pain in the rear end to upload all that poo poo that it wasn't worth it. I now use it for work stuff and some media files, mostly to transfer between machines, and it's really good for that. For media files, I found that it's more convenient and cost effective to invest in a few external drives and sync them up periodically.

Not really an answer to your actual question, but it might help. OpenOffice probably can open all those documents. I believe it has plug-ins or filters or whatever for pretty much any file type Office can open. If it's a new Office document, a lot of times you just need to change the file name to remove the 'x' from its filename extension (change document.docx to document.doc). vvvvvv OneEightHundred posted:The XML formats and the legacy formats are totally different, so the only thing changing the extension will do is either save you a trip down the file type filter menu, assuming it still opens. OpenOffice has a number of issues with DOCX, but it can open it, usually. As for getting Word: Buying Word by itself gets you a business license, if you're NOT using this for business purposes, then get Office Home and Student instead, which is $120, or $150 for 3 activations.

I would give Google Docs a shot and see if that works well enough. If not, the Home/Student versions of office are usually under $150. They are good for 3 installs too which is nice. Microsoft Office University 2010 Academic Edition (w/ valid .edu email) - $99 Office 2010 Home and Student Product Key Card (no media) - $119 Microsoft Office 2010 Home & Student 3-User - $129

I seem to remember some saying, some quote, or some joke that says science doesn't understand how some large bird (an albatross? a pelican?) flies because it should be too heavy/ungainly to attain flight. I can't remember the bird. Am I making this up or is anybody else familiar with this line of thought?

As a minor aside to kapalma's point (because you probably meant the bumblebee), the most "unlikely" to fly (in the sense of mass versus ability) bird is the Canadian Goose. So, if it really was a bird you heard about, you probably meant that. Also, geese are cool.

It's the text encoding looking like random characters combined with the odd looking domain names that J cellphone carriers seem to provide it seems. It used to happen on every single Japanese e-mail back in the day, but things are way better. If the spam folder did not autohide, it would just be one of those unconsciously tended things that I learned to do long ago. It's because the "New Look" for GMail includes autohiding Spam and Trash, and there is no way to shut off that autohiding, and there is no way to switch back to th old look permanently that the issue even comes up. When I think about it, I enable basic the HTML look, but since I am tending several accounts, I sometimes forget to reset to basic HTML.

So my wife is thinking of getting her phlebotomist certification. I am concerned about her taking the classes and not being able to get a job because she has no experience. She does have 2+ years of CNA experience, so she has the medical experience on her resume. Any idea how important experience is with this particular career in landing a job?
