It's the Dutch poster, but I had to look it up myself.

Apparently, "bioscoop" is Dutch for "movie theater". The word comes from the Greek words for "life" ("bios") and "to observe" ("skopos"). I guess it's where you go to observe life.

It's where we collectively drop acid and experience a life changing trip.

I can see the poster in my head. The guy is all in red and there might have been smoke coming out of the gun. I just can't remember the name of the movie though.

I immediately thought of another Matthew Fox film:

Also, this poster for a finnish serial-killer thriller looks kind of like it, but I doubt it is what you had in mind:

I'm sure there are dozens of poster designs like those, since it is quite typical but those came to mind at the moment.

Hahaha, came here to post that.

I didn't realise the first movie made enough to warrant a sequel, but it turns out it made back its budget domestically (plus another $30million) and made just over $420million overseas, according to Box Office Mojo.

Also according to that, we'll get a 3rd movie in 2015.

They don't make them like they did in the 80s. Even posters for kids movies were awesome.

And to bring it back to this decade, I loved the posters for History of Violence and Funny Games.

I can't tell if this is painted or if it's HDR.

I kinda dig this poster for Ralph Fiennes' adaptation of Coriolanus. The blood defining Fiennes' washed-out facial features plays into something of the film's theme and his blue, shell-shocked eyes staring out at the viewer gives a sense of vulnerability.

It's actually a photorealistic photoshop illustration, with some added noise filters.

"I literally sat at my personal computer and, in slow motion, chose a frame from the movie I thought would work best. I worked off a very tiny dvd screenshot, maybe 4"x4" and 72 dpi at best and used it as the base. With a background in illustration, and a stubborness for painting tangibly for many years, it was the first time I had decided to illustrate digitally, but I felt it was appropriate."

It's incredible that they couldn't afford to give him hi-res grab. I suppose those few years ago you'd only have an sd telecine to work from in offline editing and getting one frame rescanned would be a whole process, but now days that sounds crazy.
