What's the time? It's DEFCON 1!

wikipedia posted:

Phalanx is infamous for the incongruous box art in its American release: it displays a bearded elderly man dressed in overalls, wearing a fedora and playing a banjo while a futuristic spaceship flies in the background. The popular media site IGN named it their fifth "Most Awesome Cover" in a top 25 countdown on their website.

The box art designers later admitted that they had deliberately chosen this theme in order to attract the customer with something original, considering there were many space shooters in the market that looked alike.

I saw a copy of Phalanx at a flea market a couple years ago and have regretted not buying it ever since. I don't even care if the game is any good, I just want to look at that cover. So good.

Don't worry, as it's closer to release they'll make some posters of just the faces of the main characters, mugging for the camera to show just how kooky and zany the movie will be.

They'll probably have taglines under them too, like "The Girl", "The Dog", "The Man of Metal", "The Strawman", the "The King", and "The Wiz".

Dorthy and friends will not be in it. it's a movie about the Wizard.

drat, that's true now that I think about it. Still, I wouldn't doubt that the writers will try and fit a few nods to them in there somewhere. The Wiz walks past a Scarecrow, see a lion in the distance, that sort of thing.

Maybe they'll work in the tin woodsman's backstory from the book, where he keeps accidentally chopping off parts of his body and getting them replaced with tin prosthetics until every part of his body has been replaced :awesomelon:

Yeah, I knew that, but Mister Falcon worked so much better in the format than Mother Fucker. It also makes me laugh more. Think of it as a Social Network poster for the Die Hard movies in general.

Edit: Eh, gently caress it, why not.
