Are you guys on the Combat Jack podcast? Combat Jack is an entertainment lawyer, current editor at the Source, and really deep in 90's hiphop (Brooklyn dude). Its ghetto but its really good as far as getting into the details of classic artists. He's like a hiphop Marc Maron if you listen to that. Combat Jack got some buzz a month ago for dissing Papoose. Its good. Oh yeah and Papoose just happened to post a video of him counting 200,000 but it was like 100's on top and 10's on the bottom. Peep how the money counting machine snitched him out. temple fucked around with this message at 16:51 on Aug 5, 2012 |

for Gibbs I would recommend "the Miseducation of freddie gibbs" (amazing mixtape) and str8 killa no filla (both the mixtape and the lp)

For Bronson I think Dr. Lecter is easily the best, but that's just because Party Supplies has a love/hate quality to his production on Blue Chips. Dr. Lecter is a little more low key with Jazz samples and stuff.

Funny, my fav Bronson release was Well-Done. I guess the lesson is that Action Bronson is pretty dope.

Str8 Killa No Filla has some of the best tracks overall though: Live By The Game, The Ghetto, Crushin' Feelins and Personal OG especially. The point is really you can't go wrong with Gibbs at all.

Anyone know which mixtape Waka Flocka's Round of Applause first showed up on, the original version I mean? Whenever I try to look it up online, it just pulls up info about the remix with Drake on it. I could've sworn I had the original version on some mixtape on my computer but I can't find it. The original is so much better than the Drake remix. I found it on youtube, but not knowing which tape it came from is bugging me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc26K4xVaTY

I think it might have dropped as a hype single, but then Drake did his thing on it and that wound up being the album cut. I'm pretty sure the original track was on a few trapaholics tapes if you're OK with a million REAL TRAP poo poo drops

New Davinci song "In My City". He sounds really good over this beat and I hope he's found an ear for beats the suit his low voice well (some of the songs on his other albums/tapes he seemed to get lost in the mix at times, maybe its just me). The tracklist is up on The Fader and I am really excited to hear the song with Main Attrakionz and The Jacka.

I'll give you that I listened to more tracks off of the first DJ Paul solo album. But Tales of the Juice-Mane has "Dick Sucking Hoes" and "Name It After Me." More importantly, Scale-A-Ton has some of the most terrible album art ever. Are these indicative of their rapping abilities. Not really. But that album cover was corny as gently caress. Even then, the Juice Mane has released Rubba Band Business 1 & 2 and Blue Dream & Lean. The latter of which was one of my favorite mixtapes in 2011. Juicy J >>>> DJ Paul EDIT: Let's remember the last 3-6 Single "Lil' Freak." It started as this though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h224lSX3wZA P.S. Shout out to Webbie. DJ Paul was iirc most responsible for the pre-Mystic Stylez sound of 3-6, which was the only time they made worthwhile music. Therefore, he's far better than Juicy J. Also, Juicy J is pretty much just trying to trade in on his fame to go trend hopping in an effort to remain relevant (he also ruined 2 tapes worth of Luger beats with his horrible "rapping").

You're gonna disagree with songs like Inhale, Paid for Bitch I Own You, Pussy Between Yo Legs, Stoner's Night, Flip That Bitch A Few Times and Smokin' and Sippin'. Juicy J realizes what he can do well. Songs about drugs, songs bout girls, songs about guns. But if you're telling me you can listen to DJ Paul over him, that's fine. I'm not gonna argue about his ability. He's not great at wordplay or anything but the man knows how to make a song. EDIT: And if you're not feeling post Mystic Stylez production, then I really can't feel you.
