Someone mentioned ironsights being inaccurate on some pistols earlier and my friend who likes to use pistols also mentioned it as being a problem. Has gearbox said anything about it? Any chance of a patch fixing it? An example is the pistol you get from the sheriff that is supposed to be perfectly accurate and it is when zoomed but it actually hits not where the sight is pointing I think?

That said, I have noticed that pistol ironsights, especially those of revolvers, tend to be fairly inaccurate.

Depends, some guns have different mechanics when ADSing. I have this purp plasma gun thing that is so lovely, aim wise, that there is no other way to use it than aiming with it, (unless youre like 2 ft away from the mob). but its pretty badass because it loving destroys. some other guns have burst when aiming, and some just get more accurate the more you stare down the sights too. But youre right, it all comes down to play style. Mine is more of the snipe when walking in a camp, then clean up with a shotty, or one of the other close range weapons.

It's hard to judge where ironsighted weapons hit because the ironsights are so big. I've felt that there are inconsistencies, at least some hit above or at the tip of the sights, and not 'behind' the sights as they are supposed to. I like shooting from the hip with Jakobs revolvers for one because of this. Also, I feel that the recoil is easier to handle when you're in full view of the enemy. While aiming down the irons you hide portions of your target and that leads to me shooting over the enemy at the end of the shooting spree due to recoil. Can't even be sure about how many times you hit the target.

Really? My experience with Jacobs revolvers (Jacobs for life!) keeps the shots fairly accurate when iron sighting, even at a distance.

Its hard to tell regardless because there is no hit markers like in other shooters. And yeah, I agree some guns iron sights are way too loving huge. Some block like the entire mob depending how far away he is.

Also, some Jakobs revolvers have the moniker 'Trick Shot'. These won't hit at the crosshairs, even scoped. The point of aim is usually way off from center - I had one I tested that was 5 o'clock outside the center reticle surround on a scoped shot. These are often more trouble than they are worth and I vendor them.

So like a dummyface I figured since I was lvl 50 when the mission became available that the reward would be level 50 too and not set back to whenever. So the question becomes after TVHM there is absolutely no way to replace my Lvl 47 Order shield with a 50, yes? No one drop it or anything like the Sheriff of Lynch with the Law?

That said, I have noticed that pistol ironsights, especially those of revolvers, tend to be fairly inaccurate. For that particular gun it's not a matter of it being perfectly accurate but a case of the bullets not hitting where the iron sights are pointing, I think they actually hit above them somewhere which makes it extremely difficult to get crits/headshots because the distance above the iron sight you have to account for varies with distance. For example if a guy is 10 feet away you might put the iron sight on his neck and the shot will hit the head. If he's 50 feet away you have to move the iron sight down to his chest for the bullet to hit the head. Whereas if the bullet hit the top of the sight like on most guns you could always just aim so half of his head is covered by the sight and you'd be able to get your crit without worrying about range. At least that's how I think it works? I'm more of a shotgunning gunzerker myself so I don't aim a whole lot.

I like equipping slag snipers and pretending I am a TF2 sniper with the Sidney Sleeper, or Piss-sniper, for those more familar I got a nice Dhal E-tech Slag railgun, when I get my firerate boosts up all 5ish bullets wind up hitting the same spot despite the recoil, and before that I aim slightly below critpoints so the rest of the bullets hit on the way up.

At level 50, that Geary dickhead (Eridium Blight) throws punches for like 13k shield damage. 20k amp damage on the other hand, that's pretty significant. I wonder what the roid damage difference is between 47 and 50 for Order.

I actually did this somehow, I think it had to do with Aiming as soon as I activated gunzerking. You have to switch weapons to get out of ADS and you aim from your right handed gun. It was actually aimed, I dunno if my left handed gun was, took like 20 seconds to even realize I had it out and it was actually shooting. Gunzerking + ADS is really confusing though, I wasn't expecting it and it really only hindered me (almost died actually), but I have a feeling its because you can't UN-aim. I didn't know what the gently caress was happening and it wacked my perception.

I really don't like avoiding all the side-quests until P2.5, so I'm hoping I can just use a script to level the rewards without ending up with gimped items. Seems like it, but the scaling completely flies off the handle in the high 40s range so it's hard to be sure. Damage shoots up by thousands every two levels or so. I've been stepping up a pair of matching plasma casters alongside my level and everything looks fine.

It seems to be mostly a problem with the blade-and-notch type sights. Here is a link to some website with a picture of this type of iron sight the way they are presented in borderlands. This is wrong, and if you actually tried to aim a pistol this way you would end up shooting at the sky instead of your target. Now, Here here is a link some forum post that has an illustration of what your sight picture is supposed to look like if you want to actually hit anything. The front blade is supposed to be even with the two rear posts, and the point of impact should be where the top of the front blade is when they are oriented properly. When the sights are presented like they are in the game, it's hard to tell where exactly the point of impact is supposed to be.
