Are you loving kidding me, tired bullshit? Your favorite diss track is one in which a white guy raps about scribble jam.

I'm so pumped for trap god, Gucci's been on a tear this year. 2011 was a great year for bricksquad and I was worried they wouldn't be able to keep it up, especially without dunk, but goddamn gucci and flocka have been killing it. I'm just pissed I have court the morning of 10/17 so I won't be able to give trap god a proper listen until the afternoon.

Good luck in court, Sosa. But anyway, I want to bring everybody back to 2006. Gucci released Hard to Kill, because he had a hit squad after him and he killed one of the guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_tlTskxZyc That into is just a gently caress you to Jeezy. This is honestly one of the few intro I listen to because of how cold it is. Then it leads into Street Niggaz, drat.

I'm a Jeezy stan. But Gucci has been the hottest thing since 09. The Cold War series turned me onto Gucci. Specifically Diamonds off of Guccimerica.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTBk-il6HsM

The slant/sight rhymes and just the whole flow. Again, I love Jeezy but Gucci flows like a goddamn monster. To dismiss Gucci as some kind of idiot or a slow dood is ignorant. He could well be retarded but when it comes to rapping? He has songs like this coming out the rear end. I hope no one dies but I'm cool with a beef if it's bringing out the monster in Gucci and Jeezy.

I've also been listening to The UN Leaks from Cam and Vado and Rick Ross's Black Bar Mitzvah and lot lately but who knows how well they'll age. I think with any best of list there needs to be a footnote that Live From the Underground and that Slaughterhouse CD were really disappointing.

That poo poo was hilarious, but what the gently caress happened with that 50/Ross feud? 50 interviewed one of Ross' exes, who revealed his back history was bunch of bullshit, then he released a sex tape another one of Ross' exes made, and recorded like 5 diss tracks. And 5 years later, now what? You can't turn on Hot 97 without hearing Ross rap about putting cocaine on his french fries or whatever, and I couldn't tell you the last song 50 had on the radio. Dude seems more concerned about getting people to stop masturbating these days.

Also, gently caress Jeezy. Gucci may have fallen off, I mean he recorded with V Nasty for gently caress sake, but he is still tons better than Jeezy.

Well G-Unit did beat Gunplay's rear end a couple weeks ago so I'd say it's not completely dead. As far as not ending Ross's career I guess maybe it's because he hadn't peaked yet and was still hungry. I like Gunplay but between him getting his rear end beat and chain took he's approaching Young Berg levels of falling off. Plus did Ross ever really respond to 50? Cam'ron and Jim Jones burned Jay-Z hard years ago but AFAIK he never really said anything. Maybe just ignoring them is the best way to protect your career instead of outright losing. Ja Rule was pretty much on the way out anyway with a bunch of top 40 radio songs, so between him, Everlast, and Fred Durst Em was picking on low-hanging fruit at that time.

I had a bunch of points to make so this post probably reads terribly, sorry.

Diodeous
May 14, 2002

You really have no idea what you're talking about if you're trying to compare Gunplay getting caught in the midst of the 50/Ross beef (and fighting 5 v 1) to Young Berg getting his rear end beat and chain snatched. Gunplay didn't run his mouth or flash poo poo like Young Berg to result in getting jumped and the two situations are only similar in that there was a chain taken. Seriously, the dude just released a consistently well-liked mixtape and got a deal in the last few months and you're trying to say that him getting jumped once is sending him into Young Berg levels of falling off? Please stop.

He walked up to five guys and tried to talk poo poo, I'm not implying he's bitchmade or anything but it's rap music and getting made of fool of (which he was, per that video of 50 bowling wearing his chain) is going to hurt his career. Plus what's a deal going to matter if he gets convicted of armed robbery and gets life - which according to his attorney is what he's facing.

Diodeous
May 14, 2002

He has one of the top criminal defense lawyers in the state of Florida, is facing what I believe is his first felony, and he also has access to a lot of legal resources (like money!), so I really doubt he's going to be facing life over an armed robbery and assault. He might get jail time, but in all likelihood this is going to be settled with less than 2 years served and a simple felony. Also, where did you get the information that he walked up and talked poo poo to them? From what I've seen, and this may be wrong, he was pretty much just walking by and said something, but that it could have been anyone from MMG or CCC as the beef was escalating. I agree with you that his career is going to suffer as a result of this and that 50 bowling while wearing his chain is kind of a big blow, but Gunplay is basically a cartoon character who raps about coke, guns and pussy and as long as he continues to do that, he'll have a place in rap. Mostly I think your comparison of Young Berg is just really far from accurate and you only mentioned him because he got his chain snatched.

There was one of the links where it talked about him facing life, which I agree is ridiculous. As far as the who started what argument in the video you couldn't really tell but it looked to me he was just standing there minding his own business, but then in interviews later they (Tony Yayo, maybe? I can't find the quote) were saying he came up to 50 and talked poo poo. Of course there's two sides to every story, and perhaps Young Berg was an exaggeration but I still think it's a pretty big loss. They market themselves as "The Untouchable Maybach Empire" so it looks bad when someone snatches a chain from one of your biggest up-and-coming rappers and flaunts it in videos.

The Black Bar Mitzvah tape initially struck me as a half-assed attempt at getting some buzz for the MMG tour (which it still is), but really the fact that this obese former correctional officer with more $ than you've ever seen can throw a few (admittedly hot) 16's on hot tracks between blunt-blowin' and model-fuckin' while on a weekend working vacation in the Caribbean is just a real testament to the state of the rap game.
