Santa shouldn't watch it on the sleigh? Then by the time he can watch it he'll be back at the North Pole. And Santa's the only one on the sleigh anyway! Unless Mrs. Claus is really paranoid about the reindeer.

Unless Mrs. Claus is just paranoid about the reindeer.

Great, now I have to think about Santa taking a break to watch his Mrs. Claus porno and rub one out in my living room before he hops back on the sleigh to the next house. That better be leftover milk in that glass Santa!

The Pennsylvania Lottery has this Christmas commercial that I've seen for decades. I used to joke that it was creepy because some of the older people in it had to be dead. Well, they went and updated it and now it's MORE creepy. They did a really lovely CGI over the face of anyone who talks (think like how the lips move on those talking dog movies, only over an entire face).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tYPFpu-zNg I hate this commercial so much. Musical theater is annoying enough in the first place, but what the hell does it have to do with ham for christ's sake?

My brain immediately connected with the Radio City Christmas Spectacular as being the thing they were making a ridiculously huge leap towards.

Lana Del Ray is making a lot of money thanks to these commercials. I don't know why a song about trying to salvage an already dead relationship is used to advertise lovely for profit schools and coffee?

Hey. Whoever decided it'd be OK to play those tortured animal commercials with Christmas music instead of the standard early warning...whoever the gently caress does the normal music at THREE IN THE loving AFTERNOON. Be a dear, and jump up your own rear end and die.

Words with Friends, the board game is already one of the stupidest things in existence. The commercials do nothing to vindicate it, and end up making it look even stupider. I'm more sick of Apple's Thanksgiving commercial, mainly because its still airing even though thanksgiving ended almost a month ago, they show a nice interracial family, as if they're just trying to appease people who would think "All white people? That's not PC!" (I'm sorry, it just feels forced.) And that turkey, along with every "family photo" in that commercial, is fake and gussied up to look believable. It makes me sick.

Uh, people have turkey and pie for Christmas dinner too. Also the number of interracial relationships, and children, in the US is quite significant; sorry about it not being the 1950s.

Yeah, I know and that would be fine and dandy, but the commercial clearly uses the word 'Thanksgiving'. And I don't have a problem with interracial relationships, it just seems real forced to have that image of the kids instead of say, the whole family. Wait, why am I arguing about a commercial I don't like? Especially a snooty Apple commercial for a product I already own?

I may get reamed for this, but I can't stand the new St. Jude awareness ad that's been running recently. It's so depressing- They have even sicker kids in it, and you get the feeling that most of them are likely dead now. A wonderful thought to have at Christmas time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUfqaD6SLHg

I posed the question on this video but there's been a commercial for a local plumber running lately - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1Rjv25QZiI - why the hell would they put the word "ARRGH!" on the screen after he's fixed the problem and is standing with a satisfied customer?

Yeah, that is strange in an otherwise decently made commercial. I mean, it's not great, but the 3D work is relatively pretty good compared to the 3DCG you see in local-level commercials. It probably pays to be owned by a woman. A man would have probably "hired" his brother or nephew and ended up with Max from Blue Tax or something out of the Tim & Eric's Grums, while she went out and at least got someone with a render farm.

I was watching a Spanish-language station at a local Chinese buffet (only in America), when an ad for Old Navy came on, ending with a Latina housewife being visited by the Three Wisemen of the Orient. It was pretty strange to see since the commercials in English are pretty secularized and wouldn't include such an explicit biblical reference.
