Wait what, this used to be a mod for Warband! Amazingly yes just like Red Orchestra, Day Of Defeat and Counter Strike the modders have been bought out and set up a separate studio. For those who have played it in the past basically the developers and close players of the community to them have secretly been developing, testing and adding content to the former mod now DLC for a year and a half and the results are amazing. Gone is the lovely broken melee combat, terrible memory leak issues and the terrible terrible maps. I am not convinced, you need to sell this to me since I have played this before and I hated it! Musicians can move when playing instruments and officers buff, there is a unique to the era set of customizable options for your soldier as well as an improved and expanded artillery system. There is also the Empire of Austria as the newest army and the ability to brace bayonets against cavalry charges when they attack. And decent voice acting. They've even tweaked the bots AI and added them into a game mode when you can command big groups of them. Try and imagine these battles where one person out of 250 has 5 bots under their command. Cannons even have several ammunition types and a reticule for aiming. Essentially this looks and feels like a proper gaming product and not a mod thrown together now. It sounds good....but I hate playing these new games alone... Well lucky for you since October 2011 a small goon community has flourished playing this with other people. We roll in force in the public events using the Camping The Stairs Mumble. Regiments? Line battles? what the gently caress? Basically instead of clans the game has players banding up into official sounding and fictional regiments including us (SAdraGoons get it?) for semi organized and organized play. The latter is extremely useful as it turns the line battles where 200 players deck it out making it all look like a scene from a movie or one of the newer Total War games. If you want to roll with us speaking in the Mumble isn't enforced but you need it to listen to our officer to make us vaguely efficient at this. Okay, I caved and bought and now downloading...now what? First off start reading all the stuff below while it downloads, then play the single player tutorial as soon as you can. When you are done with that quickly pull up our Google Spreadsheet with the American or EU events and pick one to join in on the fun.  I also heavily suggest downloading and using both the officer hat replacement mod and the modified reticule mod so you can hit things with your dumb guns. You can pick up both easily from our OFFICIAL DROPBOX. Just extract and yes to all in your Warband folder (reticule) and Napoleonic Wars folder in modules for the hat mod. These two make playing this DLC 100% easier GET THEM. To be honest, the casual scene for this DLC is pretty quiet and chaotic. If it is your thing go ahead and roll on a public server to get a feel of things. We goons mostly play for the events. I'm a veteran from the previous year or just looking for a more interesting visual experience with the DLC Well lucky you, a good modder has made a huge client side compilation mod from the best the NW community has to offer: quote:

I suggest first buying a copy of NW straight from the TaleWorlds website as mixing and matching providers never ends wells. First off, go to the TaleWorlds website and register a forum account, once there go to the control panel and look for the profile settings options then look for the option to add the Game Ownership badges to your profile. Any good cavalry player will angle away and not charge towards the pointy bit of metal and just try to give you 19th century cosmetic surgery with his sword instead. Best use really is to have a few people do it and the rest stay in traditional melee. It is Friday which means we got two events in both the American and European time zones. The American event starts at 9PM EST so please do join and hang in the Mumble around an hour before. The EU line battle is at 7PM Brit time/8PM Central and I'd like goons to show up a little earlier so I can get a good idea of our numbers and all. And thanks for the compliments about the OP.

Last night we had a blast with the artillery in the American siege event (sorry Beans should have reminded you to tag up or at least tell the Admin you were with us  ) and I'm amazed we held that fort with nothing but those two Mortars.Tonight we have two events, the Sunday EU line battle which is important because if we get a rubbish show of numbers I'm afraid EU events are on hold until June and our very own SAdraGoons Sunday Event in which I admin. We've got Rifles for that one tonight. So do please show up for both. And looking forward to the newest video Endman.

It was a decent turn out for the Sunday EU line battle. Next week depending on how little goons show for each event I MAY have to axe either the Monday or Friday EU event. But we'll see. In less than an hour we got our American Sunday Line battle. Like I've already stated draGoons tonight will be Russian Rifles. See you there. Server name and password is already provided by me lurking in the Mumble. I think we made a pretty good point standing on the wall and made it fair for the enemy to shoot some of us.
