No, what I was trying to say was many goons have that facial hair so it's humorous to see goons mock that facial hair I guess. Pot-Kettle-Black kind of thing. He looks bad - yes, but it's not terribly egregious like many others that get posted.

I remember there was a photo gallery of people getting their photos taken with the celebrities in some sterile portrait studio setup like above, and it was a treasure trove of awkward people. Obviously I also sobbed when Aeris/Aerith died. I kind of feel like a loser about that. And recently I sobbed while playing the whole game through again because it was nostalgic and I was drunk as gently caress, but I don't think that counts. As for content, here is a quality FF7 cosplay! Edit: Is this a textbook? A REAL textbook? NO. NO. JUST. NO. E2: Actually I am curious... if it is a real textbook, which one? Why? Is society becoming so dumb () that what qualifies as a thesis now can be described in meme form? So many questions

The way it's used here, shipping means "trying to get fictional characters into relationships with each other". So, yes, there is a terribly sad meaning for shipping.

Shipping is the concept of fantasizing about two characters from a book/show/webcomic/etc. being in a relationship (Often referred to as the shipper's One True Pair). It ranges from harmless "Oh, these two would be cute together" to detailed hardcore porn drawn of the two, and everything in between. You're welcome, dammit.

Imagine all the characters in a TV show and then imagine pairing them into a romantic relationship and then writing gratuitous amounts of fanfic about those relationships, and then arguing on tumblr about how your choice of relationships is superior and more accurate than everyone elses. Now you know.

Ragequit posted:I had to look up what otp means, but couldn't find a source on the shipping issue. Xena also fueled much of the early shipping wars with a somewhat plausible relationship between the two leads. Nowadays it's been expanded to describe anyone who exists within fictional TV show entering a relationship. It's taken many cues from early slash fiction that seems to have started with the Kirk / Spock pairing and boomed as the Internet became accessible. However it's taken an even weirder turn with many fans finding it too hard to separate fantasy from reality. A good example is the infamous Supernatural fanbase who are dead set on the idea that the two lead actors are gay in real life (I think they play brothers to make it even weirder) and any such evidence against the contrary, such as their wives and kids, are merely smokescreens to hide the truth.
