That was awesome. I mean, it could have been the worst episode in the show's history and looked good next to the pile of terrible that was tonight's Family Guy, but still. HypnoCabbage fucked around with this message at 02:59 on Oct 7, 2013 |

They need to keep that third floor in the show permanently. I'd love it if one of the rare instances of continuity were that their house grew in size after the ghost of Francine's sex life finally became satisfied.DrBouvenstein posted:Why would I want a non-mint condition Grimace cup? What is it with Seth McFarland shows and these kinds of dream punchlines? Not that I'm complaining.

Loved the whole ending with Klaus. I agree that he's an under-appreciated character, but when he has his moments, he has his moments.DrBouvenstein posted:Why would I want a non-mint condition Grimace cup? I seriously don't know. I'm with Stan and Steve on that.

muscles like this? posted:That was a pretty filthy episode, even for American Dad. How did the tag end after Hayley said "That's pretty good, Klaus"? DVR clipped it. I'm guessing the "...I've been thinking about it for a few days." that got quoted a few times, anything else?

Nope, just that. I've been re-watching the series since I missed probably 50% of it over the years of depression and post-divorce super-depression and god drat is this show fantastic, so much better than Family Guy even at its best. Stan: "He took my hair!" Roger: "He took my land!" Francine: "Leave him alone, honey, you took his land." Stan: "Roger stuck a syringe in my chest!" Roger: "I was playing Pulp Fiction! The bitch was ODing."

Also, there's a weird level of care given to continuity within the characters and setting. Sergei sticks around, Al Tuttle's wife's death causes him to bloat up and disappear for a long while, Buckle and wife move into the neighborhood, Linda of the Iranian couple whose presence is earlier disconcerting is obviously a lesbian with attraction to Francine, stuff like that is kinda awesome to me. Also on the Forest Whitaker character(s) note: "The Turlington brothers are based on the character of Jon Kavanaugh who was played by Forest Whitaker on the live drama series, The Shield." Love it.

Wasn't there an episode where some people were chained to a wall in the basement and forced to watch the cable tutorial channel? Or was that another MacFarlane show? I sincerely hope not. Well anyway it was a lot like Klaus' story in this episode tonight.
