I get swamped immediately with berserkers, mechtoids and cyberdiscs. Specifically the missions after both Portent and the Base Assault until you get the defense mission. At least, I think Portent is a requirement. e: f,b

Five years and three expansions later, we still don't know who that is! Here's hoping X-Com does better! I suspect we'll see that in the third expansion. Maybe the sequel.

He's a gene modded to hell and back abomination dude, "They will share their technology if we help them! Think of what we could do with it!" I understand I'm mostly just suggesting things that are already done at this point, but it would have been pretty awesome to get his head popping up in place of the hologlobe during the attack while commandos and terrorists played Counter Strike in the halls.

This would be even better if EXALT were the ones who tried to set up bombs and stuff after you took out the alien base. You could do the standard Council Mission setup in the Situation Room, but instead of Optimus Prime telling you about the mission, it's the Great Leader of EDIT: And then you stop them and he's all like "We'll get you next time X-Com! Even though we blew up EXALT's HQ, we only shot a bunch of their grunts there. Their leader(s?) escaped. I wouldn't be surprised to see EXALT back if they do a real sequel.

Haven't checked up on this game for almost (I think) 8 months now. They released this DLC a while back, that I know, but what about the game itself. Have they bugfixed it to the point where there isn't any frustrating stuff like crashes, hangups, visual glitches, camera problems etc? This game released buggy as all hell and one thing that really bothered me was how there is no coop multiplayer, and the versus thing they did have was super laggy or kept crashing all the time. You could see the potential in there but it was a horrible mess. How is the game today?

I'm training up some Psy soldiers early this time. Should I go with Psi Panic or Psi Inspiration for the first upgrade?

Inspiration is good since it a) is spammable during downtime for psi exp gains (assume this mechanic is the same from EU) and b) leads into the inspire/MC combo later on, which is a good way to ensure your MCs stick. e: also, panic has a non-zero chance of getting your soldiers shot as a result

StashAugustine posted:I would make hats but it doesn't remember their hairstyle. Correct answer: I guess it's all down to preference. Sperg answer: How does it feel to be so wrong? At the start of the game, all soldiers are in tint 3 (a nice dark green) OR, if I'm feeling unlucky, tint 10, deathwatch black, all with the army helmets that look like regular real-world ones, only squadsight snipers get the hat with headphones, snapshots stick with the regular helm, and that's how it stays for a while. When we get titan armour, everyone gets a full face helmet decided by their class. When they hit captain, they get a unique colour depending on the soldier, nickname, class, what they've been doing, etc and can wear any helmet they like. MECs ALWAYS have full face helmets. No one is allowed to go no helmet / beret until they reach colonel rank, except Zhang and Annette, those snooty no-helmet wearing buggers. The only customizing I do on my soldiers is I assign them an armor color depending on their class, to easier tell them apart on the battlescape. Supports are green, assaults are yellow, heavies are red and snipers are blue. MECs don't need any help. e: Rookies are white if they have 65+ aim. If not they get a boot in the rear end out the door. Collateral Damage fucked around with this message at 03:02 on Dec 1, 2013 |

Does anyone know when the game chooses Annette's class? I had my last Lightning Reflexes assault and only French soldier die on Deluge and despite reloading a quicksave on my last (and also the dam's last) turn and trying different sequences of actions before opening the truck, she came in as a support five times in a row. After that I figured the choice was already made, like how Psi testing actually rolls when you send the subjects to the chamber instead of when they come out.
