We’ve rolled out a new PS4 game update and will continue to make improvements based on your feedback. The update includes fixes with the aim to increase the general stability of the game, and eliminates bugs that you may have experienced.

Dec 17 PS4 Game Update Notes
Reduced the probability of the “Kill trade” issue (see below for details).
Fixed a common crash that could occur during round transition.
Fixed a crash that could happen for players that had lots of friends.
Fixed a problem where the “end of round” screen was adding up scores several times in the rank bar, resulting in the rank bar showing a higher value or rank than players really had.
Fix for the game mode specific ribbons being counted twice in the multiplayer progression.
Fix for a graphical glitch that could appear on terrain.
Fixed an engine audio dropout that could happen when driving IFV’s.
Fix for a camera glitch that could occur when players were switching weapons while moving in crouched stance.
Fixed an animation bug for passengers on the China Rising dirt bike to make sure that the character is pointing in the direction where the player is actually aiming.
Fix for an issue where 4x the damage from a vehicle's minigun would be applied to the chest when a player had the Defense specialization equipped.
Tweaked the War Tape audio setting to remove distortion.
Fix for the SUAV (introduced in the China Rising expansion pack) not exploding when hitting enemy soldiers. While these indeed should be deadly, they were never designed for “roadkilling” opponents.
Servers with users playing on them are now by default placed on the top in the Server Browser.
Servers that friends are playing on have a higher priority in the server list.
Server Browser is no longer showing empty or full servers by default.
Servers that are completely empty will be shown only when the “Empty” option is checked in the Server Browser filter.
Server Browser filter will count a server as full if all “Soldier” slots are occupied, unless the “Free Commander” slot is checked.
Balancing jet handling across all stealth and attack jet classes.
Fixed a bug in Defuse mode where defenders could win a round by killing all the attackers without disarming the bomb. If the attackers arm the bomb, the defenders need to disarm it to win, even if they have killed all the attackers.
Fix for players getting stuck in the revive screen.
Fix for players getting stuck in the kill camera after being revived. Note that you might see a graphical bug on-screen after being revived when accepting a revive within 1 second. This graphical bug will be removed in the next patch.
Fix for a Defuse bug where none of the teams would win a round by letting the timer run out.
Fixed the instance where players suddenly would transition into Spectator Mode while playing the Defuse game mode.
Fix for the death camera/screen being displayed too early.
Raised the first-person camera slightly for walking in crouch to more accurately reflect the actual position of the character.
Lowered IED explosion sound to not bottom out the HDR.
General stability improvements.

How much you wanna bet that bolded line is the reason we all kept crashing? And probably why a group would all crash at once. A ton of people used the batch add app, so a lot of us have the same friends. Probably had something to do with someone/multiple people signing on/off at the same time and it tried to update all our battlelogs at once and crashed us in waves.

I wonder what would qualify as a lot? I have under 100 due to the ACIV bug.

The time window where a bullet could cause damage from an already dead player is now calculated as intended, decreasing the time frame when players with high latency could get a kill, even though they should be dead according to the server. This should reduce the probability of kill trading. "

Hopefully I wasn't the one benefiting from that all the time.

Well, I installed the patch, and then played a complete (and quite enjoyable tbh) round in the Locker with no crashing. Technically at work right now and one round doesn't really count for much. I'll be getting on again later, around 4pm PST for more thorough testing.

Abuse the aim assist. Seriously, the video of the snaps that thing gives a player is mind bending. Other than that, get used to using the two sticks to aim and move.

Patch-chat: I only ran with the AK5c after playing today, but I started noticing that it felt like it took longer/more bullets to kill people. My friend playing with me said the same thing, then he switched to the G36 and said that felt like it took longer/more bullets too.

Im not necessarily upset about this, but am wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Also, first person death animations feel different. I see my hands and legs flail out now. I didn't before.

This man speaks truth. Sticky auto aim is ridiculous. I do wish I could disable it on the fly though, when using the PLD and trying to keep a target lased or even locking on to the right one is an exercise in futility.

The aim assist makes things hilarious and smoke and vegetation mostly useless. Are you aiming at a smokey area? Mash L2 a few times. Did your crosshair move on it's own? Pull trigger and kill guy you couldn't see. It even keeps the crosshair on him if he moves!

So question about the DMRs: Do they have a higher headshot multiplier than ARs/Carbines/etc? If they made it so those things cranked out damage for people who are anal about shot placement, their low damage output on non-headshots is livable. I have feeling this isn't how it is.

I'd noticed I was getting shot round corners which is slightly annoying, I figured out the cause.

I've not seen network smoothing factors in console games before, apparently it was in BF3 too, I just didn't notice.

They suck all around compared to how they were in BF3. It's 3 shot close and 4 at range to kill compared to 2/3 in bf3 for the chest. The recoil is more than doubled from bf3. It has a lower headshot multiplier too. It was a one shot kill to the head in bf3. It takes 2 headshots up close and 3 at range in bf4 to kill.

The new patch makes things playable now but there are still a lot of bugs. Sound doesn't play (which makes Air Superiority really poo poo), terrain doesn't load, etc.

Also the army base at point C on that big desert map is one giant death trap and no one should go there willingly.

the new maps really don't seem balanced well for 12v12 on conquest. i have a feeling that it's going to be just like armored kill was on conquest, not enough vehicles and too many flags that are spaced very poorly apart.

they should have made them more like caspian or kharg with 2-3 tanks per side, 1 chopper, and since the stealth jets are poo poo, have only one per side, plus the mobile aa. then have the maps only be four flags instead of five to sort of give the fighting a more centralized location while still giving players an option to flank around the center points and back cap.

they seem better on obliteration mainly because there's better vehicle distribution and the fighting is WAY more centralized.

edit: the game still freezes a poo poo ton. good patch, dice, good loving patch.
