When Dota2 was first released (a few weeks after Crate 30's introduction) I got two Dota2 Beta Keys. Seeing how much cash people were throwing around to get into Dota, I put up an ad on TF2TP that I never thought in a million years would get any interest. Two days of bumping it and I managed to sell one of the Beta keys for both a Strange Kritz and a Strange Gunslinger. I feel slimey and dirty even admitting that.

On the other hand, I got a salvaged #50 and uncrated an Original from it the very first week and managed to sell it for a 24 keys profit app. Not much compared to the very first days but still a good amount.

I managed to pick my beloved Kritzkrieg up for 8 keys, I think that's the lowest they ever were. It was my first Hale's Own. My Machina was 24 keys.  I use that drat rifle all the time, though, so it's not so bad.

Howdy all, I've been playing TF2 for a little while and the last few days I powertasked through this thread to catch up to it. My question is, I've been meaning to get serious with my soldier play and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good comprehensive guides on strategy and such? Some good rocket jumping map recommendations would be wonderful too so I can practice that as well.

I used to buy cheap stranges like candy back when the warehouse wasn't perpetually full on metal to sell to it. Those item equip rates are pretty neat. I'm amazed the pocket pistol is less used than the pistol, bonk, milk, cleaver, and winger. It is an extraordinarily useful weapon that lets you survive a direct hit rocket, LnL pipe, or use the sandman without a health loss. Plus no fall damage. The downsides are just instead of dying from a pyro 90% of the time it's 99% and that you kill with it slightly slower. I don't think I've used the stock pistol since I've gotten it and would love a strange one as it's still very capable as a finisher since it still does the same damage per clip.

It's not as good for cleanup as the stock pistol, but I also think it doesn't get used a lot because its health bonus is invisible so people won't use it out of E-Honor or because leagues are going to ban it anyways. If it had any sort of visual indication that you have +15 health when your primary or melee is out it wouldn't be as bad but right now it's the game's only completely-invisible health boost and I think some people won't use it because of that.

You probably should be slowing down your pistol shots in the first place so they don't scatter everywhere and hit nothing, so the pocket pistol's lower fire rate isn't even really a negative.

Strange all-father still not tracking points or taunts  I've unequipped/reequipped, changed classes, tried it on a heavy as well as the soldier, even traded it away and then traded it back. Still at 0 points and 0 freezecam taunts. Anyone got suggestions for fixing it?

Back to strange chat, with the existence of Pro-Killstreak weapons and Collector's weapons, it finally dawned on me: I don't give a poo poo about stranges. Here's me sitting on a butt-load of stranges, worth plenty of dosh, and I barely use half of them. Killstreak effects are more fun. Collectors stuff is rarer (and looks better than orange text) so I'm selling/have sold off all but one strange weapon. It's oddly liberating.

Kill counters really only mean much if they're on stuff that's notably hard(er) to get kills with, anyways. Having a Hale's Own Sticky Launcher is like finding 5 bucks on the ground. Grats, but it's not that uncommon!
