Trip report from playing with the item servers down (for me but not others). On the down side medics heal me way less. On the massive upside I don't get targeted by spies or snipers or enemies in general and I put out probably way more damage because of this. As a solly I normally run with the default weapons any way it's just I'm incognito in the default kit with out my silly hats etc. New meta default kits? Nah I miss my silly hat and cigar.

Well I main medic, so "medic useless go to another class" is common, even with a Kritz, but most of the time the waves fail and the fact I'm a medic means I hear a lot of high pitched rage. I'm pretty awful with most other classes so it's really a "playing with pubbies" problem for the most part, but I'm still pretty useless. I'll join Goon vs Machine in that case. Wait, there are pubbies that still think Medic is useless in MvM? I've been mostly playing Medic since the update and I can't imagine not having one around to keep everybody on the frontlines and shield blocking all the crit heavies/soldiers/demomen.

You could run the Two Cities missions without a Medic, but the only way to do that painlessly is to run a Short Circuit Engie. Medic was a pretty weak class before in MVM, but after the buffs he got, he outright breaks some missions because none of the earlier MVM missions were balanced around his abilities. So yes, it's just pubbies being dumb. All you have to do with Medic in MVM is to put a point into shield, and then wait for it to charge up, and use it when a ton of robots come, or you're facing giants that aren't Super Scouts. And revive anyone who dies if you can. Just don't revive someone if they're about to respawn and the bomb's near the spawn unless they're near it too.

Whew - the pirate event was fun, but really disorderly. I'm still getting my head back in the game on stuffs after coming out of the holidays - I was barely scrambling together to make this week's cartoon.  I definitely want to do a redux of the pirate theme again, but do it with proper prep and organization. If people would like to keep the pirate theme going into next week let me know.

I'm sure they'll get around to it someday; Valve wouldn't just allow something that imbalanced to stay in the game forever.

I had fun yelling various pirate obscenities at each other and we need to do that more. Low point though was when there were a couple of hackers ruining balloon race though.
