I'd like that to be the photo he gets in the 2023 5th grade civics textbook chapter on marriage equality. So that kids can ask why anyone cared so much who got married, and their teacher can try, but ultimately fail, to frame it in a way they can understand. In 5th grade, I saw pictures of totally pissed off whiteys, in the chapter about school integration, and I just, did, not, understand. Seems like a just epithet.

Sure, the reps who are for it are terrible, but the people we're going to hear from don't have to worry about getting reelection, so they can say completely reprehensible poo poo without fear of reprisal. Edit in response to your edit: It pretty much depends on representative Wendy McNamara's vote. I work in an office that's generated a bunch of calls to her from constituents opposed to the amendment, and according to a meeting her CM had with Freedom Indiana, she was "100% undecided" as of yesterday afternoon. If it doesn't get stopped in committee, then it goes to the house, then the senate. The senate has a better chance of stopping it, but it's still unlikely. Edit #2: The opposition is done with their testimony. There's going to be a brief recess and then the pro-amendment people are going to give their testimony.
