Oh, and can I get added to the Friends list in the OP please. BlaineBerserker I need to get that achievement if possible. I also need to finally get 200 drat Void Rising cards so I can finally pick stuff I need at the Alter of Wishes (And then Wolf Captains will finally be mine!).

Korlac posted:I picked it as my starter and I've got some decent cards from various pack drops. It might help if you set a limit on the might/magic/destiny requirements of your cards. For instance, try taking out any creatures that need more than 4 might, or spells that need more than 3 magic, etc. It'll improve your early game and reduce the chances of getting bad starting hands (and give you more chances to draw extra cards with your hero). With Haven, you've got a lot of good low cost creatures that you should be able to spit out quickly at the start of the game to maintain some control over the board, like Wolf Guards, Imperial Crossbowmen and Sentinels. If your deck is large in size, I definitely recommend trimming out some of the less effective creatures so that you're left with the tried and true cards that are useful in a variety of situations. It's a gradual, evolutionary process. Chubbs fucked around with this message at 19:17 on Jan 15, 2014 |

They were a novelty but really there's no reason to take them over the Expert Marksmen. It's a matter of avoiding those kinds of traps and really making my deck lean/mean. Now that I have Alia, Caller of Faith I feel like there's some strategy to be had so I need to fill out my spells with decent fire crowd control and then figure out what creatures I need and don't need.

You're really wrong there, Watchmen is the preferred shooter 2 drop in Haven because of its 5 health. If it gets Firebolted, who cares you made him waste a Firebolt and the Week of Training event gives Watchmen atk anyway.

I'm having a lot of fun facing off against spell-heavy decks and beating them with a creatureless Ignatius deck. It's almost like playing a different game. So far the biggest threat is creature-heavy Necropolis decks and Pao Deathseeker.

For the second time in about a week 60 TELO was not enough to cash out in jackpot. Looks like you really need to win 3 in a row to guarantee payment. I'm not sure if that's because there are less or more players playing jackpot than previously when it was seemingly always enough to cash out.

For the next month or so, Telo requirements are going to be higher because of a Beat the Jack tournament that requires players to be in the top 50 ranking for 4/5 Jackpots. 300 telo before would be good for around top 10, now it's barely good for top 40.

Its possible the launcher client is more popular then the iPad one, but I kinda doubt it, at the very least the only one it works in has to have less then 50% market share. It's even worse on the iPad client though since the OS doesn't see it as text so you can't C&P it into a browser bar, and you can't switch back and forth to manually type it into Safari since if you spend more than a few seconds with MMDoC in the background, it takes enough of the program out of memory that you log out. Literally the only way to visit that link on the iPad is to bring up a web browser on another device and manually type it in there.

Anyone who is likely to be able to enter the Beat The Jack tournament, even through the underdogs bracket, is going to have more sources of info than just the front page. Even if you don't regularly visit MMDOC King, if you Google either "uraxor" or "beat the jack" the tournament is in the top 5 results and if you Google both it's number 1. It's also not going to affect the required ranking for lower tiers much, if at all. The main effect is to attenuate the players in Tier 1, who have to keep playing to guarantee their 0.5% status. The points enter the system at the other end from players losing repeatedly at 0 or 1 T-Elo, and those players aren't grinding for longer trying to get into a tournament for players who are consistently T1. It'll be slightly less likely that you won't get T5 with 60 points, but that was always a possibility anyway.

I think I figured out how to game the JP tournies. The break point for T5 seems to be between 60 and 61 tELO, with a substantial number of participants having either 60 or 61. If you win 2 in a row, you get a tELO of 60. If you lose 1 and then win 2, you get a tELO of 61. It appears that your best bet for low effort cashing in on JPs it to throw your first match and then win the next two.

So I've been trying this out (coming from Hearthstone), and: *I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that Enrage is terrible (bloodlust is ok though). The creatures with it feel newtered without any tokens and... Just okay with. It has a synergy with the sacrificial altar, but that's about it. I really want enrage to be good, though, for some reason. Maybe because I'm stuck with stronghold. *Games started off fun. Now I'm playing proper decks and things are just miserable. I got a bunch of "free" elo from tankers, so I'm wondering: do I need to play a war of attrition with elo tankers in order to play decks on my level? I'm guessing ubi isn't planning on doing anything to prevent tanking?

There is a 1 drop that throws enrage counters out every turn, but I think it only gets played at lower elo, I think for the most part enrage creatures are avoided, it's more like a bonus if you an get some use out of it. There is a reverse enrage ability where it gets +1/+1 for every one of the opponent's creatures that dies, the Shahar Brute, that are pretty great when you get some.

It only takes a couple of seconds. In related news, I won my first two JPs (which is when I realized the tELO 60 thing), so I figured I might as well go for three wins or a loss and another win to get to 61+. I lost my third match. Then my forth. And then I yo-yoed between 1 and 31 for another 10 matches before I finally got up to 61. Assuming I cash in, I'll still be a little compared to just playing duels, but it was definitely more frustrating this time. Heh.

So on a whim I rolled a new account just to see if I could win the box lottery and dig myself out of the hole that my original account was in. Spent all my campaign and new player seals on a box of the first expansion, and got 2 Ishumas and 2-4 of pretty much all the staples for her deck that appear in that expansion. Spent the wildcards on 2 each of Deathseekers and Assassins, and got a 3rd of both from reinforcement packs I earned through achievements. Now I have a solid foundation for an awesome deck that's tearing up the low ELO players while I earn the seals for a Forgotten Wars box that'll get me most of the other half of the deck I'm missing, and all before I hit level 6. I've been playing this for a few days. IGN is sixteenstraws. Got to 450~ ELO using this Crag Hack deck - http://tools.mmdocking.com/decks/show/3932. Originally it had more enrage creatures + Insect Swarm but I only won like 20% of my games, not including the crazy amount of weird forfeits (I got to well over 100 without actually beating anyone). Since then I've only lost once, in a really close match vs a Cassandra deck. I was thinking of adding another Deathseeker, 2 Dark Assassins, maybe some more Shredders and some Vulture Riders? I feel like I should cut down of the amount of creatures though. Not sure about the fortunes. Campfire looks good but it seems like I hardly ever draw it. I have a couple extra Stampedes, Suprise Attacks and a Kat's Grand Fianle, as well as another Blood Hut and Sacrificial Altar. I know the events suck but it's the best of what I've got. I've been buying Herald of the Void and Reinforcement packs. I almost have enough seals to buy the Champions Deck but I kinda feel that I'll have wasted the wildcards I've already spent on things included in the deck. :/ it would give me a lot of what I want, but I don't want to just copy that guy either (even though I'm pretty much using the poor man's version of his deck right now). Insect Swarm worked really well when I use using it, would spells work well with this deck? This is the first card game I've played, after watching some Hearthstone streams got me interested about the same time I saw this during the steam sale and it's a lot of fun so

Heroes with 0 starting Magic generally don't run spells (and if they do, it's only the barest of them, like 1-drops). Crag Hack in particular almost never runs magic. If you like Insect Swarm and Stronghold, maybe look at Kat or Shaar. If you want to focus on creatures, the Champion deck really does give you a lot of what you want.

Stampede routinely wins games for my Crag Hack deck and having it can turn situations where I lose into ones where I win. I'd also advise playing more Serpentfly, Goblin Scout, and Dark Assassin, since Crag is all about getting that early tempo advantage and riding it to victory. I wouldn't worry about playing "too many" creatures. They're what will do the work for you, and if you get some Week of the Mercenaries (you should get those), having more than a slight splash of fortunes might be a liability.

Crag Hack should basically never play spells. And it is very bad in a deck based around dumping a pile of cheap creatures into play. The world champ deck looks like it still has a good amount of cards for you, it would put you at a full Crag Hack deck, minus some Serpentflies.

So I finally jumped back into the game yesterday and put together a quick 4/4/0 Akane Sanctuary deck. It's working alright (missing a few Lightning Strikes), and her ability is great, but I don't have anything extremely cohesive yet. The slightly annoying thing is having to pump 1 into Destiny for Stream Singers and Venerable Kappas, but I'm still tweaking it, so who knows if they're going to stick around. I've thought about Mizu-Kamis, but a 5-drop for a 2/1/5 is a little underwhelming - if it had Enemy Spell Ward instead I'd add it in a heartbeat. I now have 3 different Sanctuary decks, I might have a problem. The only thing stopping me from making another is that I don't want to make an Ishuma deck, and I don't see a point in playing Kaiko when Yukiko or Akane are essentially better.

I just...what?? It seems to me beyond counterproductive to start banning people for doing things your game encourages. People will do what they can to win within your system and if that this is not fun and/or ruining it for others then that is your problem as a developer for setting that system up like that in the first place.
