I see it as more of a Richard Herring bit tbh

It's definitely one of those skits where you can almost feel Herring's presence. I don't think I've seen a single show by either Lee or Herring that didn't have a bit where they have a conversation with themselves playing the part of the other side of the partnership.

I wish they'd do something together again.

Do tickets ever sell out before guests are announced, do you know? Think I'd be kicking myself if I went in blind and ended up seeing some of his shittier guests when there were better ones available.

No, I've basically taken a punt at it. Hopefully it won't be someone poo poo, but you never know.

It's ironic just how played-out and catchphrase-y "He fell through bar and then Trigger made a face" has become. That's pretty much all my Facebook feed is at the moment.

Try watching Limmy's Show series 2 to "get" him. I realise that sounds stupid and annoying but I didn't like him either before I watched his show and "got" him. I think Stanhope is alright too, though a lot of people seem to dislike him.

Series two was a tad weaker than the first in my opinion. Mainly because new characters felt bland and uninteresting. Series three is a mixed blessing, too, stuffed with inside jokes based on Limmy's twitter conversations and such fanwank. They kind of work as random humour even without context, but I wouldn't call it an improvement. Series one was more refined and all in all worked better on telly than it could have as silly youtube videos. If one doesn't enjoy Limmy's brand of awkward humour, there's nothing that can change that. Note: I am one of those rare people who don't care much about his stand-up but love the show.

I haven't seen it in a while but i like how fast schofield and holly go from grinning ear-to-ear at a funny segment to doing their most earnest concerned faces at some woman who's son was eaten by bears or some incredibly, incredibly horrible thing.

Also it was insane seeing phillip hand his list of suspect internet nonces to cameron live, this morning is a weird show if you think about it.

There was a fantastic early episode of You Have Been Watchimg where they stuck an autocue in front of people and made them execute dramatic swerves like that. It was wonderful. Wasn't Super Hornio originally called Humpman or something?

On topic, what's the solemn classical music that's used quite often in Weekly Wipe, this week over the Doug Stanhope section? I'm sure someone identified it before but it's totally slipped my mind.

Part of Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary by Purcell. You might also know it as the Clockwork Orange theme played electronically.

I had both on my computer, never watched, but by the time I realised there was a hunt for them the momentum had passed.

Philomena Cunk's Moments of Wonder are some of the best things Brooker has done since tvgohome. They really make me wish Ricky Gervais would goad Karl Pilkington into doing a Horizon/Brian Cox-style show where he's just sat in a room interviewing scientists. Preferably monkey scientists.
