My name is Oliver Queen...
Kate Mara's profile seems to be on the rise (it's allegedly her vs. Emmy Rossum for Sue Storm in the new FF movie) so I'm not shocked they wrote an exit for her, but, fuuuuuuuuuck.

I doubt that was the primary factor; It matches the British version very closely. It would have been a major deviation NOT to write it.

"The only one asking questions is you."

[...]

"Can we have that fresh start?"

loving brutal.

The scene where Frank comes home and without a word sits down to the cake (which he said he didn't want earlier in the episode :v: ) and snuffs the single candle was incredible. Said everything without a single word of exposition. One of the most well crafted sequences I've ever watched in a series.

There better be some big payoff. There needs to be some reason for introducing it.

Jews fleeing the Holocaust are not in any way comparable to North Africans, who don't flee genocide but want to enjoy the social welfare systems of Northern Europe.

Just finished the premiere, and, well, drat. I'm gonna have to see where they go next to decide if that was more than just a shock tactic but right now my brain is in pieces. And the final scene was excellent too. I'll check back in when I'm a few more deep.

4 episodes in and retiring for the night. It's still a pretty flawed show but it's plainly having so much fun going over the top that I find it hard to fault. Except the perpetual grimace that is the cyberterror subplot, yikes.

Loved that.

I'm currently reading The Years of Lyndon Johnson: Master of the Senate, and I can see so much Lyndon Baines Johnson-fuckery in Underwood, appreciated the little nod to him and Richard Russell in the first episode.
