Dead Space 3 was pretty fun once through. The Platinum takes close to 120+ hours, so have fun with that if that is a goal.

I thoroughly enjoyed DS3 but I am pretty diehard for Dead Space stuff. The only real issue is the weapon balance, the Unitology Script/Evangeliser guns were by far the best of the bunch and it makes it almost impossible to use any other weapon based on how much better those weapons are.

No it doesn't. I'm pretty sure I did it in less than 50 hours. It is the longest dead space to platinum but it's way shorter to platinum than a mass effect game.

As someone who got every campaign achievement in RE6 and played through it alone and in co-op a ton and thoroughly loved that game I have two questions:
1) How much will I like Dead Space 3 as a co-op experience? And
2) How broken is my brain?

Haven't played RE6 but from what I know about it I really think you'll enjoy Dead Space 3 in coop. I don't think Dead Space 3 in coop is a bad game, just way worse than a franchise aiming at AAA 5 million+ sales super stardom should be.

Edit: I also played the DLC in coop and thought it was by far the best part of the game. If the rest of the game was up to that standard I think very little of the backlash would have happened, even considering the change in direction.

Dead Space 3 is miles away a better game than RE6. It may not be a true survival horror game but its a fun and engaging shooter anyway. Couldn't even complete one characters story on RE6 however.

How is the first Tales of Symphonia game? Thinking about picking it up as the second seems to have bad reviews so dual pack is not worth it.

I mean, it's JRPG, and makes no bones about that, but I quite enjoyed it when I played it, although that was back on the Gamecube where you didn't have many other options for RPGs. The battle system was fun, the characters were likeable, the story went on a bit long but didn't make me roll my eyes too hard (really as much as I can ask for from a JRPG, again). Also when you complete the game, the style points you've accumulated from fighting can be used to purchase bonuses for your NG+, so depending on how well you played, you can buy like x5 gold multipliers or EXP bonuses or all kinds of cool extras for when you want to jump back in, so there's even some replayability.

Notes:

There is now a Deal of The Week section in the store. This week's Deal of the Week is for the PS3 and Vita versions of FIFA 14.

Tomorrow, the new PS+ games for March will be announced. All we know that is confirmed are that PS4 game Outlast, PS3 game Metro: Last Light, and Vita game Dynasty Warriors Next will go away next week, as seen on the PS+ page on the official site.

The discount upgrade for Battlefield 4 PS4 version is still available. Through the Blockbuster Sale and discount upgrade, it is possible to get Battlefield 4 PS4 version for a total of £34.98/€44.98/AU$59.40.

Speaking of the PS4 discount upgrades, there are 4 weeks left to claim them all. I'll list them as sales in the sales section as reminders. No, I don't know why they think £10 = €10, or for Call of Duty: Ghost, £10 = €10 = AU$10.

As you see above, there isn't an anniversary sale on Vita games. There won't be one this year, but sales on Vita games will come "in the coming weeks and beyond".

(I can't link to the next items because comments have no links after the first set.)

One of the comments says that Earth Defense Force 2025: Season Pass isn't giving the eligible add-ons as free downloads. Look out for that if you have it.

From the store rep in the comments:
Invizimals: The Alliance will come out in Ireland and UK at the end of March.

An announcement on the release of Borderlands 2 Vita version "isn't too far off".

I could have swore PSN said 12am. The pop-up saying the time isn't showing up anymore.

It's two downloads so you don't need as much space to install it. Because the PS3 is badly designed you need double the amount space of a file to install it and won't let you even try download it unless youhave the free space. Ni No Kuni is so big that they split it up so you didn't need quite as much space for the PS3 to allow you to install it. Instead of needing 40gbs free, splitting makes you only need 30.

Huh, I think this is the first time I already owned everything digitally on PS3 offered for the month. My luck was bound to run out sooner or later, and at least all of those were games I'd picked up on sale.
I only won out for Tomb Raider: I already have the PS3 version of Dead Nation thanks to the account-hacking PSN troubles a while back, and the others (besides Monster Hunter) I've had on Steam through Humble Bundles, but at least I can chalk a win with TR (which I was going to wait for on PS4 but I'll take it now).

Why does Ni No Kuni have two different downloads when I bought it? One is five gigs and says it's he full game, but there's also one that's 15 gigs. My connection is horrible, so I'm hoping I just need the first one.

Both. The small part is separated for full game trials and needing only a big whack of space to install a permanently-licensed copy rather than a freakin' humongousoid chunk of it (it literally would only install on a 60 that's blank otherwise - I guess they figure no one sane is using a 20 for anything other than discs and DLC service, or maybe just as a media player).

As someone who got every campaign achievement in RE6 and played through it alone and in co-op a ton and thoroughly loved that game I have two questions:
1) How much will I like Dead Space 3 as a co-op experience? And
2) How broken is my brain?

I love Resident Evil 6, and Dead Space 3 is a really half-assed horror game and a horrible shooter (playing solo): most of the encounters don't work with the game's controls and design, since it's basically Dead Space 1+2 with enemies that act like traditional shooter enemies, so I hope you love Issac being surrounded in a tight room by 10+ enemies while he still controls like he did in DS1+2, because the developers love to use that over and over; the side missions are especially poor and feel like they were just slapped together out of an "extra assets" bin. It has a few moments, like a boss fight I enjoyed and the last hour or so, which contains the most hilarious twist I've seen in a franchise "Of course...I get it now, the MOONS ARE ALIVE AND BEHIND THE NECROMORPH MUTATIONS!!!" -Issac after having a 3 second vision of green light on a moon but none of it can stack up to the creativity of RE6's scripted set pieces or that rolling/sliding movement you can do. Also RE6 is consistently hilarious and DS3 only gets to be at the end.

Yup, March will be a wash for me, but I'm gonna pick up dead nation since it could be okay to play coop with goons.

If anyone is gonna play dead nation (before dark souls 2 comes out) add me: Ineffiablefx

CoD Ghosts: Onslaught is still not up in the NA region.

EU PS+ offers for March... are the same one that the leaker mentioned yet again. At least we now know which games are leaving this Wednesday:

Leaving PS Plus on 5th March:
PS4 game Outlast/Sound Shapes
PS3 game Metro Last Light
PS3/Vita game Guacamelee! (Cross Buy)
Vita game Dynasty Warriors Next
Vita game ModNation Racers Road Trip

Entering PS Plus on 5th March:
PS4 game Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition
PS3 game Tomb Raider
PS3 game Brothers A Tale of Two Sons
Vita game Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD
Vita game Smart As

In other news The Walking Dead: Season 2 - Episode 2 is coming this Tuesday in NA region! :hellyeah:
Vita version of The Walking Dead: Season 2 is "tracking for release on the end of March", but this is Telltale so that could change.

Dead Nation, Tomb Raider, Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor, Monster Hunter

Edit: NA PS+

Not mentioned: Unit 13 for Vita, and the Monster Hunter game is Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite for PSP. That is technically 4 games for Vita for next month due to cross-buy offers from Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut.

And that is the PS3 version of Tomb Raider, not PS4. :nyd:

LOVES EVERY FUCKING GAME EVER MADE. EVER.
I have wanted Unit 13 since I played the demo right when it first came out. As a dumb third person military shooter it looked like something I could enjoy for a price under $10, but it never went in a sale that good. Feel like my patience was rewarded here.

Also Lone Survivor and Thomas Was Alone were both incredibly tempting prices back at the start of the year, which I had to physically restrain myself from buying under my pledge to not make any purchases this year. I'm teling you, this month is money in the bank for me.

It must be fate that has brought us together after all these years.
Nothing here I care about that I haven't already played in one form or another but I'm still looking forward to replaying Tomb Raider. Holy poo poo that game blew me away last year.
