Now let's pretend that your point was to suggest that maybe she doesn't know what she's talking about regarding the subject of dogs because of that competence. Now let's admit that, oh wait, none of that is true and your best argument against her is "lol u fat" because you're the kind of stupid rear end in a top hat who thinks appearance dictates intelligence or worthiness of statements made. Catahoulas are often mean-spirited dogs that typically get along extremely poorly with strangers ("extremely poorly" usually means "with their teeth"). Even the working ones I've hunted with that spend 10-hour days in the field (nonstop running, swimming, yelling, climbing, literally tearing apart bears) come away with it ready to fight each other and play chase-the-mailman, their energy levels are insane - walks will never be enough. Do yourself a favor and keep this dog away from your small children and especially away from any of your kid's playmates. Don't bother with dog parks or group training classes because these dogs don't do well with other strange dogs, neither do pit bulls. Start working one-on-one with a trainer who visits your home, ASAP. It's a shame that people continue to choose these dogs as housepets because of their unique sparkledog appearance, because they typically do terribly in that situation - even moreso when crossed with high-energy terriers like a pit bull - and the bite cases are racking up because of it. Recently Daisy has been hard to handle, nothing horrifying and that I can't take, she's just being a puppy and trying to chew everything, etc. It's very frustrating, and then she calms down and looks like this: Which is usually followed by cuddling. Worth it! She's also started to get along really well with my tabby cat, Boots:

Welcome to the only thread in PI where learning anything is actively discouraged because there aren't already enough places on SA now where noise trumps signal. If you want a safe space, go post with the furmommies on some other website. If you want actual advice from professionals who don't mince words, then ask and don't get butthurt that the answer you get isn't just a "there there." If you go into AI and whine about scheduled maintenance being too hard or expensive, they're not going to pat your back and say "it's okay just show us photos of your adorable car," and frankly the other forums' insistence that we're just Too Goddamn Mean is the stupidest complaint I've ever heard from people who (presumably) found "your poison womb is making heaven too loving crowded" funny. If the rest of SA can't deal with us not constantly momposting then just put a goddamn bullet in this subforum's head and be done with it, because it's obviously what the whiny babies want. Meanwhile, some of us learned things from PI and now those things are our careers as a result - I would not be a dog behavior specialist now if it weren't for the no-punches-pulled posts from 2009. Plus I now have this amazing beast:

Also consider the fact that we generally don't jump down a person's throat like people seem to think we do. We only do so after we have given very good, educated advice on the situation and were completely ignored. Multiple times, in this case. Dexter is here to knife Oxford Comma.

ButWhatIf posted:Oh look I'm in the photo too, wanna tell me how I ought to look too since you're the goddamn expert? Your dog is adorable and I like your socks and glasses. I have a small apartment and bad knees and hips from a very bad car accident 15 years ago. I have always wanted a dog but know I really wouldn't be able to take them on walks, wrestle them into tubs for baths, or all the other Important Stuff one does to maintain a happy dog so I do not get one. (I often go to dog parks and pet other people's dogs and vicariously have a dog through them, I am a dog vampire.) Instead I found a mangy adolescent cat on New Years Day that had been hit by a car and left for dead and saved her ungrateful life. Here are some pictures of my cat: She looks so depressed, bored, and broody in her tree. This is because she is an anime.

I haven't posted in here in a while, thought I was overdoing it at one point but here's the last two healthy pictures of Buttercup, helping me pack for a drill weekend. He deteriorated quickly, from being a mountain goat of a cat on my shoulders one day, to less energy and not eating much yesterday to gone today. And that sucks. This is how he looked when I brought him home for the first time. His face was always wonderfully expressive and he loved headbutts, this is pre-headbutt headbutt your kitties tonight people.

The roomie and I got a pup to keep our Old Dog (a 13-year-old Brittany Spaniel who craves another dog to boss her around) company. Welp, Brandy got exactly what she was asking for! This is Josephine ("Jojo", "Jo", "Jojobean", "Puppy Stank-rear end"), who we were told was a 6 or 7 month old pit mix when we got her from the shelter, but the vet (and Jo's rapidly escaping baby teeth) told us she was actually closer to 4 months old. She enjoys climbing on things she shouldn't, whether it be humans (apologies for potato quality): Or the shelving between the kitchen and living room: We've had her a month and she's already destroyed half of her toys and annoyed the living poo poo out of Old Dog. She's lucky she's so cute, especially given the scents that come forth from her fuzzy butt and how much she likes to nibble ears.

Catleash. My mom's cat wants one thing and one thing only: OUTSIDE. Once I clipped the dog tether to her for shits and let her loose (supervised) and instead of fighting it or flopping over she just ignores it and wanders around in the length it gives her. The other cats won't even touch it but she is happy as gently caress out there. We're pretty sure she's a closeted dog or something.
