In all seriousness, Sterling doesn't give a gently caress but at the same time he has to live in society. He can't just retreat into his house and never talk to anyone again. So I do think that public pressure, especially how widespread it is now, is having some sort of impact.

If you are having sex with a woman you are paying for, you always call her honey because you can't remember her name. STERLING: When a girl seduces me and tells me all of these hot stories and dirty things and tells me how much she wants to suck on me and takes my shoes off and licks my feet and touches me. When I'm in a limousine and she takes [off] all her clothes. The limo driver said, "What is going on?" And she started sucking me on the way to Mr. Koon's house. And I thank her. I thank her for making me feel good. ADAM SMITH: Sir, the question was "Do you understand that your open bigotry is causing the Invisible Hand of the Free Market to move money away from your professional basketballing organization?" STERLING: And she said, "Boy, you are going to have the best time that you ever had in your life. And then she just walked over to the bed. She lied there. Spread her legs out. And it was the most incredible sight. It was exciting, and it was stimulating.

Bright lights, big athletes, hot women, tons of media attention. That's stuff that just reeks of egoism and nothing hurts a dude like Sterling more than a blow to his ego.

One of my favorite Sterling facts is the man owns one of the most iconic buildings in Beverly Hills and, for a long while, kept everything but the fifth and sixth floors vacant for his own amusement. He sometimes would just ride up and down the elevators for fun.

State Farm pulling their ads from the Clippers means that the company has also dropped Chris Paul as their endorser. They will now be using other NBA players from other teams. Kia, you're next. Drop Blake Griffin.

In the future, the ads will feature different players in their NBA uniforms, and that will be awkward when everyone but Chris Paul has an NBA team jersey on. Either that or they are in a pick-up game scenario, in which case why pay the NBA to use team logos?

Crazy Ted posted:Or, judging by his court testimony, he'll just retreat to his house and throw the greatest drug-fueled orgies since Caligula. Since we're on to classic tragedies of dysfunctional power families, has it been brought up that Donald Sterling's son 32 year old son (who was apparently a half-way decent kid aside from shooting someone in the back when he was 17ish) died alone in an expensive condo of a drug overdose a lil over year ago? It's almost completely irrelevant except insofar as Donald Sterling is a terrible person in almost every facet of his life including parenting. quote:You may recall that in 1988, the Clippers drafted Danny Manning first overall. The negotiations were contentious and dragged well into his rookie year. Manning's agent was the late Ron Grinker. At one point during negotiations, Grinker met with reporters (including me) in a hotel room near LAX. In the course of conversation, I recall him talking about what a weirdo Donald Sterling was. He said that he had been at Sterling's house, and Sterling's son was there (so if it was the one who has died, the kid probably would have been about 7 at the time). Anyway, as Grinker told it, the kid misbehaved in some way. And so, Grinker recounted, Sterling told the kid to "get naked" in front of the guest. Sterling then spanked the poor kid's bare rear end in front of Grinker and god knows who else (possibly Manning). So as I read about the death of Sterling's son today, I was reminded of this anecdote and wonder how many more humiliations this kid was subjected to by his slumlord father.
