That sounds awesome, Bristol gets the best shows. I've seen Earth, Sunn O))) and Boris downstairs in Thekla and the place fills up with sound so thick you can stand your beer on it. Not a good venue for the claustrophobic I imagine.

They are a band who I would be really happy to have played on the radio instead of whatever else is on but I have yet to want to go listen to one of their albums on their own. I'd probably really like it too

Don't sleep on the new Godflesh EP. It's surprisingly good, I love it. If the album is this good I'll be amazed.

Their music is nothing special. Edit: I haven't seen them live, and that's the real benchmark for a band. Anyone want to chime in with an opinion of their live show? I'm not really big on Jesu so I'm glad Broadrick is still taking the time to make crushing stuff. This is certainly more uptempo than something like Streetcleaner, but it rules.

Just a reminder that we have a pretty good doom stew goin' in Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/user/1212113832/playlist/3lKAiFcn89c2IlL8EUbLwj Just added the new Eyehategod to it. Good playlist for if you want to get real hateful at work.

They don't have some super intense or scary stage presence, but they definitely know how to pace their set and get the crowd moving. Basically, if you are into drinking beer, having a good time and fuzzed out riffs, Red Fang shows pretty much fit the bill.

Get some junky solid state Sunns, some beers, and slam out some riffs. They are surprisingly tight live for sure.

So I'm guessing the answer to the question "Should I go see High on Fire when they Play in London in August?" is a yes? I saw them 10 years ago (crap I'm old!) for five whole pound and it was pretty awesome, and if memory serves, fun than on disc. Plus it's a Saturday, which always helps.

They're a lot of fun, I like they're music a lot, and Pike seems to love doing what he does so drat much. They also might produce the worst sounds I've ever heard in my life. Clarifying, I think you can fix most of that issue with ear plugs. moctopus fucked around with this message at 22:20 on Jun 2, 2014 |

Just saw Jucifer last night, went last minute because my friend's band Mammal was opening up. Glad I stayed because that white wall of amps piled up to the ceiling was pretty awesome. My favorite part was when the drummer speared a stick through the side of a beer can then shotgunned it.

I went to college with the dudes from Pallbearer. They got pretty big after the festival in Austin. The album came out a long time ago but it didn't get the press until SxSw. Joe plays bass and in college he was so smelly, his socks stunk and his room was the worse rat den I'd ever seen. And his girlfriend was a bitch, but she traded me a Q and Not U album on yahoo messenger. She was uber pretentious though. Also I know that the band is broke as gently caress and don't have hardly any money in their bank account. Yet, that album they put out back when is nearly perfect. I love that the vocals are pretty, and not on the cookie monster side. e: Also, Pentegram is the shiznet. I saw the documentary and then listened to everything. They are the American Black Sabbath.
