I think the reason why people are falling down the ladder in Shadow is because they are not centered. I know being left of center is always a bad idea and being on the other side of the ladder might be easier for some people.

I did Shadow Raid on every difficulty last night with a few friends in descending order (i.e. DW to Hard) for our difficulty masks. Ended up getting the mechanics down pat pretty well. If you're clearing it for XP having a full group with jammers is really nice, since if you only have a couple of bags left and you know where they should be by process of elimination, you can rush the remainder easily.

It's like when every group constantly ran UK job for cards when the game was released. The min-maxing, ultra optimized way the game is currently being run is really putting a drag on murdering cops. Play with cooler dudes. The Summer Sale brought in lots of chill random groups who actually have fun running around doing everything the jankiest way possible and it's great.

Street sweeper is great for those of us non-masterminds to pick up a buddy. "Oh, you are surrounded by tans? Let me just left click a bit and brush them aside." And flechette rounds seem to give the shotguns some range back. Or maybe the damage fall off for the Raven isn't as short as the Reinfeld. All I know is it seems I was able to put holes in greens from further away than I'm used to.

The Striker manages to be a great alternative to the Loco. As long as you're consistent about headshots, you can clear rooms really drat quickly.

Like I said before, I'm pretty new so my opinion isn't exactly grounded in experience, but the shotgun pack seems a lot less robust than the LMG pack (brutal guns that can handle waves of cops or pop heads for a long time without reloading) or the Sniper pack (Carrying a Thanatos is apparently required on Deathwish ). I do enjoy using the Raven though, and I could be wrong but it seems like a straight upgrade to the Reinfeld in every way?

Since the majority of the Raven's unlocks are achievement based, you can make it statistically identical to what a fully modded Reinfeld is, but it's not gonna have the sick rear end shell rack, wooden grip and folded stock so it's strictly worse.Fellis posted:The only important stat is gunporn factor. So what's the general consensus on the shotgun pack? All the new round types and the melee weapons look neat as hell (I really wanna use that hatchet ) but I barely ever use shotguns. Are the new ammo types fancy enough to get me onto using them or should I just pass on it?

How do I play with goons. I joined the group and it says there are people playing but there's no "play this game with these people" button on either the group page or the game itself. How do I not play this game with the actual literal retards on Crime Dot Net.

The shotguns are all good additions, the masks and melee weapons are hilarious (two of them are, date I say, actually practical), but the ammo types are iffy. 000 Buckshot is useful for hitting damage thresholds. Frag rounds are good for stun locking Dozers and groups of enemies but awful at actually killing. Slugs are good for close range shield murder and nothing else. Flechettes are mostly bad, but a straight upgrade under select setups.

Taking the +50% melee damage skill makes it actually practical to hit normal cops with it to save ammo. It also has somewhat silly range- you can hit cops with it from startlingly far away.

Shockproof Ace does work, and will work at range; if you get tased, spin around to look at the Taser, and hit interact on him and he'll get blown back. But considering that most people do functionally the same thing with what's in their magazine it's still basically garbage. It's another one of those skills that there MIGHT be an argument for if it was a 1/3 skill, but as a 4/8 skill you'd have to be smoking some really good poo poo to think it's a good idea.

Shockproof Ace does work, and will work at range; if you get tased, spin around to look at the Taser, and hit interact on him and he'll get blown back. Part of the problem is that Shockproof Basic reads inconsistently. "Taser shock attacks on you backfire, knocking back the Taser." Does that mean every attack? No. Does that mean just the first attack? Having not used Shockproof much I'm not sure if it gives you a notification when it procs. If it doesn't, how will you know when it's working? I always assumed it was just the first attack that backfired and after that you've got to work for yourself. Sort of a delaying the inevitable thing.

It used to include a tooltip saying that it would backfire like 30% of the time or something. But even then it must just test it once at the beginning of the tase or something, because I rarely if ever see it work.

So... how do I actually equip shotgun munition? I have all the nice selection but there is no feedback on what round I have equipped on a certain gun. No 'equipped' tag like on all the other items nor any other kind of feedback.

The ammo types work just like normal weapon mods. Double click or hit "equip this" in the lower right corner and the selected type should have "Equipped" in the upper left corner.

What is the optimal way to grind up from level 85 to 100? I've just been doing Overkill Firestarter but... it's getting old with pubs. (Yes I know, goons, but pubs seem faster to jump in a game with sometimes)

Revitalized posted:What is the optimal way to grind up from level 85 to 100? If you've been getting diamond store stealth bonuses before Firestarter, then that's probably your best bet. You can do other 3 day missions or a watchdogs or something to break up the monotony. Also, if you've got any relatively easy missions with ++ or +++ sitting around, you might consider doing those for the extra bonus they give.

Definitely try to get a stealth bonus before you do a long rear end hector mission, it adds up. Getting fast learner is worth it and watching for bonus exp missions that aren't utter bullshit or drat near impossible to complete in a pub (Hello Shadow Raid!) helps too. My strat when leveling with pubs was to do a 10-15 min stealth bank heist (usually you can find stealth guys with jammers and it's trivial to stealth as long as you kill the tellers) then do Rats/Firestarter/Loud election day.
