Regardless of what you do, get fast learner aced out of the mastermind tree.

Also, if you care, techghosts (or any ghost centric build, really) are always going to be the poorer cousin to any enforcer based build. Unless you're focusing your efforts mostly (or entirely) on quiet missions, you're making it more difficult on yourself when it comes time to murder pigs, if you spend more than 20 points in the ghost tree.

Perhaps if you tell us why you like techghosting, we can come up with a build that accomplishes that, but is also effective when the poo poo goes down.

I'm the tech in my group of friends and I want to be more useful on stealth runs, basically. I've learned the hard way that the turret as it exists right now is at best situational, so I'm going to ditch it for shaped charges, and I'm planing on building toward the faster lockpicking so I have something else to do when I'm not babysitting drills, moving bags, or killing DC's finest.

Lockpicking is super situational, it's mostly safes that can be drilled (silently) or C4d. It is faster than drills and requires no slots, but it's quite rare.

I think you've got a pretty nice build as a party technician, save that i'd drop Silent Drilling Ace and get the points for the tier in the rifle skills.

Crew bonuses do not stack. Two Techs with aced Bulletproof only get the benefit of one.

No, but having basic Fast Learner at all stacks with anyone else's Aced, so even if someone else has the upgraded version you still want basic.

You can get the low level stealth skills (aced shinobi, aced cleaner, basic chameleon), which should see you through 90% of the stealth challenges in the game.

Echoing advice above, you don't need aced lockpicking. That skill is pretty much duplicated by much better skills like the saw (for lock boxes), or shaped charges. If you see a titan safe, you can't pick them anyway, only drill them, so it's not like it gives you any significant advantages over your other options.

You should have plenty to do without needing to crack safes by hand. If not, you're not murdering enough. :colbert:

How many points do you feel need to be wasted before it's worth the cost to respec? I think have many points probably wasted in Ghost (Basic Dead Presidents, Aced Chameleon. Basic Martial Arts, Basic SMG Specialist), but I only have 2.6 mil to burn.

Here's the build as of right now if you're interested. http://goo.gl/NU9ePK

Note: I intend to get back into technician just for Nerves of Steel eventually, but I specced out of it for 2 points to Ace ECM Specialist, which I got tired of waiting for.

Don't know what you are packing, but http://www.pd2skills.info/profile/lv50-techghost/#/profile/updated-44/ helps everyone for stealth heists. You can still gain levels quickly with highbies at that point. A Ghost only loses out on matching the Enforcer in killing because Enforcers can't do anything without their loco. I have all the mods, so I don't have trouble murdering mans, though I am focusing on snipers since they can't.

I feel like I need those quality of life skills like Aced Transporter, Aced Fast Hands, Aced Endurance and Aced Leadership to offset the face I feel lame putting silencers on everything and can't even get basic The Professional. The quiet drill also gets me the headshot bonus but I feel like a lot of the Technician tree is a waste until you get the amazing stuff at the top. Three points in mines / sentries go to waste.

Well that was a hilarious way to stealth Death Wish Big Bank. We had the upper left vault but with a guard permanently standing right next to it, facing the desk area. Despite this we went through all the motions of opening the vault and ferrying the bags out without him ever hearing or seeing a thing. :allears:

Also this confirmed something I wasn't 100% on: Death Wish changes almost nothing, if not literally nothing (from Overkill) on Big Bank. At worst, it adds a few cameras to the front which are pretty much a non-obstacle and there were five guards in the vault area.

But even then, we only got civs from the elevators (plus front poisoned cake) so we went into the vault area with 3 pagers. It was honestly one of the smoothest Big Bank runs I've had once we stopped tripping over the first half by not prioritizing cameras.

The only real downside compared to doing it on something lower is cleaner costs, but if you're super pro you technically never have to kill civs.

I think Rifleman would be a better pick since your Sharpshooter is now double-buffed with Leadership. How much extra damage does silencer perks apply to your weapons and can you do without them or the headshot bonus, while still hitting the landmark damage on tans? Get Dominator so being alone is not a horrible thing.

I had the worst Election Day. I must have lost around 500 rounds from Tasers and thinking about Shockproof, just to piss off the commoner build generals. Day 2 started with three people only because Overkill, and one immediately took a fall off the building. I sneezed and killed all attempts of being quiet with my announcement of clicking "back" instead of pressing "enter". It went well since the machines were drilled open rather quickly, until we moved to the other side. We started to act like pubbies and being angry at each other when everyone went down from all the Tasers and I had to dominate my way out of that hellhole. We were so happy to be done with that when a new mission appeared far from us and I never got that far before. We almost wiped again since our ammo was almost gone at that point and someone else Dominated his way to saving the day. We got the hard drive and jumped out of the building, which seemed to not be a horrible fall from that height. We dragged our bags through many snipers and reached the van, getting gunned down before the mission finally acknowledged our win.

You'll be fine, the most commonly run maps are in the base game. You really should get the courier mod DLC though, it unlocks a bunch of useful stuff.

I started working a custom mod yesterday since HoxHud keeps randomly breaking on me and wont work half the time I play for no reason. But I added in a corpse limit changer after seeing all this, so you can climb over a mountain of bodies in every heist if you so desire. :getin:
It works alongside HoxHud, so you can install both too (although there's no actual HUD modding done yet).

https://github.com/JamesWilko/GoonHUD
https://github.com/JamesWilko/GoonHUD/archive/master.zip (Direct Download)

The default changed limit is 256 bodies, just so the game doesn't crash on huge heists, but you can change it in GoonHUD/options.lua to whatever you want.
If anybody uses it and has any crashes let me know what happened so I can try and fix it!

You only need the DLC to host games on the new maps, you can still play them even without the DLC if you're just joining someone else's game. Which is really cool of Overkill because they could have been jerks and required everyone to have it to play it, but didn't.

The Falcon has the same problem as the Eagle, in that they lose so much ammo while not having that much more damage than something like the Car-4 or AK 7.62.

They're not awful guns, but they're far from ideal for Overkill and Death Wish.
