It's not something I can prove, obviously. But there are a lot of words and phrases that resonate because of their place and repetition in culture, and it's my feeling that the RKO wouldn't be the RKO if "RKO" wasn't already a thing in people's ear. And I'm aware that it's also play on "TKO".

In any case my initial point was just that Chris Jericho's "Y2J" nickname probably isn't really alienating young fans.

Yeah, but his finisher would likely not be called "the RKO" if the acronym "RKO" wasn't already a part of the cultural lexicon due to RKO Pictures, and therefore sounds familiar and good to people even if they don't get the reference directly.

Please don't make fun. It's the same as second-rate WWE knockoff TNA naming their arena after the studio that makes the lovely knockoffs of blockbuster films.

So here's a question, how fun is the crowd the day after Summerslam? I've got tickets for it in Las Vegas. I know SS is generally the #2 PPV, and while I know it won't be anything at all like the Post-WM Raw crowds, I'm wondering if enough smarks will make the journey to make it a fun crowd.

People are under a lot of stress, Bradley.
Jericho's main catchphrase is also dated, in that Raw hasn't been called "Raw is War" since what, 2001? I guess "Welcome to Monday Night Jericho" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Yeah, great at getting us into Wawa.

My girlfriend stopped watching wrestling before Kurt Angle debuted, and I want to show her some good Angle stuff, with the big "YOU SUCK" entrance, a heel promo with the usual boasting, and a great showcase match, preferably from after he shaved his head. Any suggestions? I also never watched PPV's back in the day, so holler if there are any hella good PPV matches I can catch on The WWE Network Which You Should All Purchase Today, It's A Great Value Like Netflex, But Better Maggle.

I'd just like to revisit this post, and refer to the Edge/Kurt Angle PPV matches. Edge is the one who beat him in a hair match, forcing Angle to shave his (thinning) hair, and their promo battles were excellent. At KotR '01, Angle had a long night ahead of him, and asked Edge to lay down for him, since Angle was going to win anyway - he might as well save his energy, right? When Edge refused, Angle asks again, punctuated with "Come on... I think I know you." And the fight was on.

So, Edge/Angle matches are just fine - but I think it's fair to say that those are some of Edge's better matches, while they happen to be some of Angle's more average ones, if that makes sense. Not a knock on Edge - but Angle was just that good.

Their best match was probably... Backlash 2002?

And I am taken to a place
Where your crystal minds and magenta feelings
Take up shelter in the base of my spine

I thought this was pretty interesting. Chris Harrington (mookieghana) had a look at the first 100 televised matches of those on the WWE roster that have had one, just to see what they were doing at the time. Here's the list:

Why is Snitskys first match in 2007?

He debuted in 2004 and had a televised match with Kane.

edit: Oh, it's for wrestlers who had 100 televised matches, and what #100 is.
