We can pretty much tell when something's a homegrown show within about 15 seconds of it starting. Our TV is so terrible our government had to pass laws forcing TV channels to play it. Fortunately our TV channels have the good graces to air this stuff when hardly anyone is watching.

So for all practical purposes our TV is exactly like American TV, only when you get commercial breaks for guns and ammo and American flags, we get commercials about Canadian Tire and our gargantuan banks. Even during the Superbowl, when you guys get the awesome commercials

Best canuck TV is either the Lumber Network (they really ramped up the production values since the softwood export fiasco and now Fir Real! is a hoot every ep) or that channel that is nonstop montages of wild dogs running through tall grass and Natives harvesting wild rice.

Hockey really is serious business, and woe be to the other channels, even if the nearest big team is a joke (LIKE THE MAPLE LEAFS). We get to watch your commercials when our Canadian channels aren't simulcasting the same program at the same time, which they always do and the cable companies are required to change the feed to the Canadian channel. Y'all air a LOT of ads, far more than we do, for pickup trucks, boner pills, lawyers (and class action notices), degree mills, and junk food. Seriously; your junk food is second to none. And oftentimes the Big Yank chains will advertise stuff the Canadian McDonald's or whatever will never have. And no Jack in the Box, Sonic Drive-In, or Golden Corral/Old Country Buffet up here, at all. Hell, we finally got Carl's Jr just last year and very few across the country, at that. But we got Tim Horton's (double-teamed with Wendy's, no less), so... Unless you mean original programming, which is pretty much just the news and the occasional god-awful sci-fi or cop drama on the other channels Also in Saskatchewan I think they have a "farm channel" or something like that e: I should be clear that the reason nobody watches the CBC is because everything they produce is awful
