There's no frames of the arrow before the reflect though? There's a frame where you can clearly see the arc from it being deflected from where that sniper was. And a few others show off the huntsman arrow sticking out of the corpse.

Latency makes reflects look weird.

Cube and Bones just released their i49 "fragumentary" on YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5USIDoZleAk&hd=1

A bit of background, i49 was last year's international TF2 6s LAN and the video follows High Rollers Gaming (NA) and Team Immunity (AUS) as they came to Europe to compete against Epsilon eSports, TCM (aka Broder) and the rest of the best of the European TF2 community. It's a long watch but a really high quality production that shows the time and effort these players put into playing a game that they love at the highest possible level.

:siren:If you don't have an hour in your day to watch the whole thing, I'd still highly recommend skipping to the mini frag videos interspersed throughout the movie at 17:48, 27:14, 35:18, as well as the grand final at 44:23.:siren:

I know that not everyone in the thread particularly cares for competitive TF2 but this video is honestly an incredible community production and showcases not only what a brilliant game we have but how excellent the community is at supporting itself and just generally being filled with cool people.

If you want to support the people who made this, there's a DRM-free up to 60fps 1080p download available on VHX for $5.

This is definitely worth watching, if only for the high-level play.

I didn't realize there was a steam marketplace until recently... one of my unusuals sold for $110. I put the other up for the going price of similar hats but what the hell am I going to do with $400 in steam money? I wish there was a easy way to turn that into USD.

I'm going to have so many (more) lovely steam games now :(

Also getting constant friend requests and spam from people seeing it on the marketplace reminds me of when I first uncrated them. Pleasssse stop spamming me asking me if I'll accept paypal random europeans

There are ways to turn steam money into real money, but it's very grey market stuff and you have an enormous risk of getting scammed.

It probably makes more sense to just hoard that cash and go completely nuts on the next steam sale.

Oh I agree, I think your quest for a chill place to play the game with people of equal skill is a noble one and I wish you success. I'm just saying if you're smearing a valve server it's a good time to try something stupid.

On that note, I've gone back to my very first real love class in TF2: ~chaos backburner pyro~ and man I love it. The powerjack gets me into places faster and more unexpectedly and there is nothing like burning a whole push from behind starting with the medic. I occasionally use my airblast and I'm thinking I need to get a reserve shooter, since if I'm going to throw someone in the air and hit them with a shotgun I might as well use a weapon that makes it even more effective.

Okay upon closer inspection it was clearly a huntsman arrow, and the medic was mid-taunt anyway.

The other 2 servers have a vote system to disable crits. One of them usually fills up between 7-9pm most nights and every time i've played crits have been set to off.

Things that cannot be marketed need to be traded for metal which then can be traded for things that can be marketed.

Arrange a backpack buy out with someone, but that's probably a huge hassle and filled with scamming risk.

Trading poo poo for metal, then metal to keys and then selling the keys seems to be the most straightforward method with the least risk for scams. There's a number of trading sites for item trading, such as backpack.tf.

Are you sure you aren't imagining a conspiracy against you? You really think someone is calling the 'tryhard cops' - literally getting their friends to join and put you down for playing well? Maybe it seems that way but those are probably people that just joined to pubstomp. Throwing a wrench in their plan is a noble enough cause. And decent players might be there goofing off already, but when you push them around they start to push back. Meanwhile your team starts dicking around if they weren't already because they expect to win anyways. It's all a very fluid, self-balancing process.

Some asshat switching teams to votekick you because you are too good at killing them happens though. Any votekick is basically a coin flip. When you do get kicked it sucks, they were a jerk, whatever. There's no sense dwelling on it, just join another server and continue gaming.

That can't possibly be a regular occurrence. Unless europeans are radically different gamers or something.

Personally I'm sick of joining Valve servers and feeling the need to count the combat classes on my team before deciding to play. If less than 1/3 of my team is combat classes I leave immediately because gently caress that. Used to be I'd rarely feel the need to count, as long as I see 'a few' combat classes I'm good. Over half my team could be spies/snipers but I'm sure the other team is almost as silly.

I've blacklisted every active west coast community server at this point so all I see are valve servers and trade/achievement/surf/dm_hightower NO CART CAPPING/etc. I can't even find a low ping MGE server to play bball on. :sigh: Valve servers are fine though.
