Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't most of the pre-season failure squarely on Ron Parker getting torched? Did Cooper/Smith really give up much?

I remember Smith being pretty bad too other than that interception he picked up against the Bengals, and honestly that whole situation with Parker starting went on so long I don't know if you can call it one of those motivation things. As in I'm worried that they actually like Ron Parker. Or dislike Smith. Either one isn't good.

Well yeah, I didn't want to make it too obvious how clearly outmatched Seattle is by the Cardinals. I wanted to give them a glimmer of hope, you know, just to be sporting and all.

Dumping it off to Pro Bowl MVP Marcel Reece. Enjoy your 2 days of thinking the Seahawks are the best team in the NFL, everyone.

I can't think a more amazing way for the season to unfold then for Carson Palmer to be injured week one only to find out that Logan Thomas is a Cam styled wrecking machine who footballs himself to the first ever rookie QB Super Bowl win.

Logan Thomas would be so fun to watch if he weren't such a lovely quarterback.

My QB is also named Bort

The Jaguars were the only team to score a rushing TD in Seattle last year :unsmith:. Sadly that means Bortles will have to wait 3 more years to beat the Seahawks because of how the scheduling works.

Unless they meet in the Superbowl, of course.

If the past three years are any indication the winner of the home opener is the best team in football. They just don't win the Super Bowl :P

In the Colts game he had TY Hilton on lockdown. Once he went out TY went off because the bigger dudes we had absolutely could not stick with him and Dunta Robinson couldn't run for poo poo so he got burnt as well. If Flowers would have stayed in it would have been a win.

So how bad are the Packers going to be this season?

on one hand, that's probably the hardest game on their schedule

on the other, they just got the poo poo absolutely kicked out of them and their defense was a dumpster fire.

The Packers offense was able to put together some good drives, but they also had an average number of failed drives and mistakes, neither of which they could afford because their defense was so ineffective. The Packers defense looks to have regressed from Weak to Really Bad. The pass rush was reasonably good, but the Seahawks were reliably able to exploit blitzes by attacking, well, basically everything else the Packers put on the field, and the rare successes seemed to always get cancelled by penalties.

The Seattle offense looks like it's using the Super Bowl playbook, i.e. lots of Lynch up the middle and Harvin end-arounds, but now with some extra misdirection since Harvin's had time to actually practice. It's a good basic playbook, but it probably won't be as effective against respectable defenses. The Seattle defense looked great, of course.

People were talking about the crowd seeming subdued; that's probably just because Thursday draws a totally different crowd, but I also wouldn't be surprised if rich bandwagoners are outbidding better fans. Welcome to success.

Rivers was responsible for like 5 of those passes.

Rivers is going to throw at Sherman.

WR, OL, DBx3.

Yes, I left QB out. We have a QB we are stuck with and we have the future as our third stringer, noodle arm and all.

All four NFC North teams are ranked somewhere between 17-22 with the Packers having a slight edge over the rest of the field, but the other three being a crapshoot. This seems about right.

If you never even look at the guy that Sherman is covering, the Seahawks can make a second-half adjustment and let both safeties help out Maxwell, leaving Jordy and Cobb pretty well covered.

A valid point. Rodgers should balance his tendencies more, although it was a fairly small sample size of 33 attempts.
